    With clay bricks, you need to get the heat in the kiln up to a minimum of 1,100 degrees Celcius for about 6 hours to get the brick to fire properly. Short of that will result in a brick that crumbles in the weather. How do I know this? Having worked in the brick industry for 30 odd years... one tends to learn a few things from different sources!
    Just as an alternative, am looking to start making the CSEB in Australia. But, will used sand instead of soil for the bricks, but may use soil once established. Am looking to make my own press off a 50 tonne hydraulic jack, worked on a lever system to get some serious pressure on the bricks in the moulds. By getting some serious leverage, this should do wonders for the compression of the bricks!

    Make a better interlocking brick, make a grove on the exterior and interior to spray on cement and insulation foam. Then make a wooden exterior in front to make it more insulated. Then drive a truck into it, to see if it holds

    Hello Sir, what about the durability of inter locking brick

    • @gondinachu2824
      @gondinachu2824 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sir, durability is much better compared to conventional , after laying every 5 course interlocking brick you need to pour mortar in the holes, you can include 8mm rebar in intervals in the holes which makes it more durable and earthquake resistance

    Sir why interlocking bricks is not recommended for bathroom walls

    • @civilogy
      @civilogy  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Because if there are any water leakages then these blocks will absorb more water than normal bricks, so swelling happens inside the block and further fails.

  • @kokyongfoo6967
    @kokyongfoo6967 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    There are Lot showing such bricks, but none showing how strong they can stand.
    Since these bricks were not burned, their strength cannot compare with the normal burned bricks.

    • @civilogy
      @civilogy  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For load bearing structures above 1 storey without pillars, definitely you have to choose normal bricks for strength considerations.

    • @kokyongfoo6967
      @kokyongfoo6967 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@civilogy If these bricks go through burning stage, they will be superior bricks.

      There are also some burnt bricks in the market. The shape which decides interlocking capability. So you can burn the bricks making the shape suitable for interlocking.

      It can be used for framed structures upto any level. But for load bearing structures you can go up to two storey. After two storeys you have to consult structural engineer 👍
