Forgotten Classic! One of my favs! I compare this to Rush's Caress of Steel. Both are great and each has been overlooked and underrated by so many people! Great choice Mike!
One of the best Sabs albums. Even Bill got to sing. Listen to the Dirty Women solo section where JP got the riff for Breaking The Law! Love the production on this album. A masterclass in perfect separation and clarity. I implore anyone who aint into metal to listen to this. They will instantly fall in love with the melodies even on the heaviest tracks!
I think it’s because Bonham was just that much more acceptable to the mainstream. Sabbath were outcasts in the 70s. Bill Ward was an absolute animal, and deserves just as much credit IMO.
@ I think we all know the Bob Daisley story by now. We get it. He had a massive influence. He himself said he loved working with Ozzy, and that’s why he stuck around so long. There was obviously a magical chemistry in the group at that time.
As much as I have listened to Blizzard, Diary, Bark, and Sin, I have never listened to a Sabbath record outside of a double Sabbath live cd and Ozzy's Live effort with Gillis. I am just not a fan of this sound. There may be a song here or there but I never listen to any of them consistently. I will take Daisley, Rhoads, Kersley, or Jake any day any time.

I’m inspired to give this one another listen, it’s been decades since I last played it. Great discussion!
Very good episode!
Thank you all. 🙋🏻♂️🤘🏻
Thanks for watching!
Your looking great Mike keep up the healthy look...love your site!
Thanks!

Very fair point.
Bob Daisley wrote the lyrics on the 1st two Ozzy albums. A few after that also
Indeed. I did make that comment during the show.
Great album as is Never Say Die.
Mike, you look great. Good on ya for the weight loss. It’s not easy.
Thanks!
You Won't Change Me has a nice sinister riff to the intro
Awesome riff!!
I think they should have taken off It's Alright, and put anything else they probably had.
NO!!!!!!! Ozzy did NOT write the lyrics. Bob Daisley wrote the lyrics.(Let me add, Ozzy didn't write anything).
Actually Ozzy wrote the vocal melodies. This is a SIGNIFICANT component of the songwriting process. Not an easy thing to do.
Bob Daisley also wrote the music with Randy and also with Jake E Lee. Hugely underrated figure in the Ozzy story.

That’s what daiskey says, I don’t care, ozzy is the singer and the heavy metal god.
It says he wrote everything on bark at the moon
Some good songs, I like it for the most part, but a weak album compared to the previous one's.
I think Never Say Die! Is much much better.
