- Today I headed over into Hyndburn Parkrun in Lancashire on my Parkrun quest to reach 100 tourist Parkruns and get my Cowell award. Hyndburn was great because it was easy to find, the team were super friendly, the woodland course was lovely and there was a real treat in store - but you'll have to watch the video to find out! Thanks for your support over the last year or so, I really enjoy making the videos for you and I hope you find them useful and entertaining. Have a great 2025 guys!
Great video Andy 👍
@@BriJ1963 Thanks, I appreciate you watching😊
Well worth the trip out, I'd say. We'll done, Andy 👍
Considering the illness and recent injuries and not much running, that time is hardly the Hyndburn Disaster is it? 😅 That sounded funnier in my head lol.
Good luck in the race 💪
@@markg99 Thanks Mark, I think so too, I think I was just at 60-70% because of the virus tbh🙁. I’ll be going back for sure. Thanks re Prom Classic😀
Nice one Andy!! My local one and the toughest in the area. You did well to keep the trainers relatively clean.... the bottom bit is usually a quagmire! I always do it in trail shoes. Also the course seems to measure long so not one for best times! Nowhere better for complimentary cakes and coffee though😊
Thanks, I wasn’t on top form at all that day but I’m glad I went for sure😊
Glad you enjoyed our lovely parkrun. Great video and pronounced hind (rhymes with kind) burn 😊
@@lesleysmith7553 Hi Lesley, yes, I wasn’t on top form but I loved your Parkrun, I’m clear on the pronunciation now😂
Andy, hope you feel better! Crazy to run with a cold lol. The biscuits and tea are a nice treat at the end.
@@RunFreeandStrong Thanks Reto, sometimes, you wonder whether to go out because of how you feel, but if you run (or exercise), you’ll generally feel better afterwards. I do feel better now, I’m just apprehensive about Sunday’s 10K😊
@@AndyCliffMTB You'll be great on Sunday! Enjoy Nice!
Just watched this and your Witton one. My two local ones - hence why I do so much tourism! Such tough courses but great events with amazing volunteers.
@@cameronashton7150 Thanks Cameron, I thought Witton was way tougher than Hyndburn. Have you tried Wepre and Watergrove, they’re tough but scenic😊
@AndyCliffMTB Not yet, Watergrove is my NENDY though. I keep leaving it until summer (so it's dry) but then never feel at my fittest. Will do though!
I ran hyndburn a few years back .. nice scenic trail course. Well done on 148 runs... I think 150 and 200 should qualify for a t shirt as 100-250 is a long wait 😅... 98 locations aswell 🤯. I think a 50,100 locations Tourism t shirt aswell 😆..well done for getting it done once again..great video 📹 💪
@@whereweoffDAD Yes, I think I’ll return in Spring, thanks, I’m close now and you’re right, 250 is a very long wait🙁I think I’ll hit 100 in Feb/Mar, there is a company who do a customised tee shirt with all the locations on I’ve seen. Thanks for watching😀
No Shame in that Andy! 😉 As I tell my mum, you're just getting more value for your money 🔥🔥 Epic cafe btw!!
@@raleyadventures I think the virus was still well embedded in me on that day, I’m only feeling like I’m almost clear of it today, 7-Jan😮
You should give Sutton Park Parkrun a go, it is a beautiful place, or even my local Kingsbury waterpark (you could spend hours exploring both after the run) We were all struck down with a horrible bug just after boxing day. I've just subbed, looking forward to watching more of your videos now.
@@theheathenrunningproject Thanks for watching (and subscribing), I appreciate it😊. Sutton is a bit far for me unless I am on holiday in the Midlands area but there’s so many great ones😀. There’ve been so many viruses around in December, it’s been a minefield to avoid them😩. Your channel has done really well so well done you, I’ll check out your videos and subscribe when I next have time😊
Well done
@@shank2329 Thanks, I feel much better now😊
Only just started watching, but I'm wondering if the surprise is the fabled free coffee and cake. I haven't tried this one yet, but I have heard much about it. 🙂
@@TheRegularRunner Thanks Matt, it could be…it’s a hidden gem for a few reasons😊
Pronounced Hiinburn
We did this one last year and my battery on the camera died just as I passed the finish line. I think it was about 28 minutes just after I thought I'd cleared the injury that plagued me later on. We must have caught it on an unlucky day because I nearly lost a shoe to the mud at the turning point both times and it was so hard to stay upright 🤣
@@TheRunningWhale Hi Craig, I looked at a few videos before I went, trying to avoid mud and hills but it was a treat, a definite return in Spring😊
What a stunning location, definitely worth going back to. Sorry to hear you've not been well, lots of it about at the minute. Don't worry about your time, you're still faster than the 95% lying in bed on a Saturday morning! Great video again Andy
