My only complaint about iris Dement is that I didn't discover her sooner. I only learned about Iris Dement in the last few years and I'm a 64 year old man. To think all those years I missed that I could have been singing along with Iris.

Iris's rejection of God and acceptance of humanism is sad. It's also cynical. But it's what runs through the world of music, and she's no doubt been drowned with it since she became popular. Sad, very sad! We can pray that she returns to her faith in Khrist!!

Appreciate your concern but I don't think you need to worry about Iris.
She's not rejecting god, perhaps your version or understanding of the divine. She embraces LOVE. There's nothing more divine than love. As she wrote, "I choose to let the mystery be."
