GT will see a playoff under Key. What many don't know is that money is now flooding in to the NIL program. Any goal the NIL has asked to reach GT donors have almost doubled it every time. GT also now has a HUGE backing from the school president. This has not happened in over 20 years where academics were priorities 1, 2 and 3. Now it goes Academics 1, Football 2, Basketball 3, and all other issues after. There is talk of the president pushing harder than ever before for the GOR to allow GT to expand it's academic programs to allow more degrees. ONLY issue it the GOR is made up of uga alumni/fans and is lobbied against. Yes GT has been DENIED the right to expand its coursework to allow different degrees, in fear it will hurt the school up 85. They landed a top 35 class for the class of '24, and are in on SEVERAL top 100 players in the country next year. Jontae Gilbert and Joshua Petty being 2 that are main targets for GT. This does not include Antwan Hill who is visiting this week with his whole family to see if it's a solid fit (commitment could be coming). As long as GT wins 6+ regular season games next year, they will likely land a top 25 class. If they do what some suspect and win 8+ they likely land a top 15 class. GT is on the verge of being back. The 2024 season is going to be a pivot point for the program. It is the 6th hardest schedule in the country as of today. If they can muster up 8 wins and a bowl win you might see the sleeping giant wake up in a BIG way.
I am a UGA fan. I love Paul Johnson, but I think the tripple option set Tech back fifteen years. The assumption was Tech needed a gimmick offense to compete. This was a formula for episodic success with limited potential. Then, enter Collins. Well, he was correct in wanting to build the brand. His methods were crindge worthy. Brent Key is using old school toughness with no apologies for the academic challenges. Nothing builds a brand quicker than winning!
Hope So, college football is better when Ga Tech is successful ! i am man of a certain age when tech was member of the SEC ! we (father & myself & others) hated when Tech left the SEC BUT understood why at the time ! @@UCFFAN407yeah, some of our guys were out for blood because they were apart of the team that was in collins last game, yall aren’t bad but we had the edge. It was a fun game.
I love Brent Key. However, Tech’s schedule this year is insanely difficult, beginning with Florida State, including ranked Norte Dame and NC State and Louisville, and ending with Georgia. Five ranked teams. They will be lucky to go 5-7. If they get some real breaks, maybe 6-6. If they are outstanding and get some breaks 7-5 at best. A second consecutive bowl year is not a given.
And Miami and UNC are expected to be ranked at the start of the season so potentially 7 ranked teams. That’s second most ranked teams on a schedule this year tied with Arkansas, only behind Florida.
@@ThinkTwice_2xnot too worried about uNC or thug u. We own the tar heels and it's the same story for miami everh single year. They're so back and are definitely winning the natty this year I swear, and then they collapse.
Make a video on Northwestern college football. In the last 4 years, they have been to the national championship 3 times, and won it once. They have been dominant at the naia level for the last few years.
The primary challenge faced by Brent Key is how he will reestablish defensive legitimacy to the program. The offense is solid and the learning curve under OC Buster Faulkner was pretty quick. I suspect the curve will take longer on the D side for Tyler Santucci and his assistants. Yet, even a modicum of improvement from the outset could have the effect of getting the defense off the field once ot twice more per game. That could have a substantive impact on anything resembling a close game from early in the season. There are several reasons to expect improvement, especially in the Front 7 where we now have adequate size and depth. Any positive impact whatsoever by our pass rushers could make a difference. Perhaps a more aggressive attack mode by the Front 7 might create more wins at the LOS, more TFLs and more turnoverss that this year's offense could turn into points. It would be reasonable to presume the 2024 defense will be better, to one degree or another. How much better and how fast the D can develop into consistently good unit. If Haynes can outplay Ugy at QB from FSU in his first start for the Noles, and the D can be competitive, Game 1 could wind up a huge surprise and confidence builder forthe Jackets. Wht we absolutely cannot have are losses to Georgia State or VMI. The challenge for Coach Key will be to avoid losing winnable games. If the defense can come together, 2024 will be a solid season for GT and a harbinger of long term football success and relevance, which is part of GT's institutional DNA.
They just need a better defensive line. If they do that watchout. They could be a darkhorse playoff team in a few years with 12 team playoff coming. Their run game and offensive line is legit. Plus they got a legit QB and good WRs. Tech next year is a 8-10 win team
They have been better ever since CGC left. If GT Football becomes somewhat relevant again remains to be seen. Either way, the games are much more enjoyable to watch now!
