Plot twist: The owner hung himself when he found out the original Gran Coupe 383 4 speed FE Red that was hacked is more rare than a 440-6 barrel fish. 👀
I've been watching some of these episodes on TH-cam for a few days now and I have a question for those who are very familiar with Graveyard Carz and their history; Considering mostly MOPAR cars are on this show, has GZ ever restored something more...mundane like a 1987 Dodge Daytona Shelby Z or Turbo? In 1999 at 17 years old, I bought one for $500 and then spent the rest of the year and another couple grand and trips to this place in Vegas called Pick-A-Part. By the end of the year, I had a fully restored car. Interior, exterior, engine and body were all done and people have said it looked and sounded like the day it rolled off the assembly line. I was proud of that car. It was lost against my will, long story and I have an opportunity to buy another and I want to see what others have done.
Beautiful car and a nice build but let's be honest you customers wanted a real 71 cuda but really he got a 2023 cuda . There's not an 1971 part on that car. Your an awesome car builder but technology it's a kit car let's be real
I don’t think anyone is trying to fake anyone out here, it’s origin is pretty well documented here for everyone to see, I’m sure the resale value is not going to be the same as a rare survivor. In the end. -- is someone going to enjoy the car?
@@rodneyficklin9281I like the idea of it being completely redone. I live in Wisconsin and don’t care about an original survivor having hidden rust. I want something redone, no rust anywhere.
A kit car? 😂 When you say kit car I think of a a VW Beetle with a different body. lol What we have here are reproduction parts of an original car. There is nothing kit about this, it is a “tribute/resto-mod” so what the customer got is what he asked for, a brand new 1971 Plymouth Cuda with new technology upgrades, manufactured in 2023, and build 100 times better than factory! “Kit car” 😂
@@martron1962Very true. I'd love to have one day regardless hell I guess you car bulid a complete 1969 Camero from year one from what I understand they have the original stamps from GM to stamp out ever peace of that car... I ain't knocking to persa but I'm sure to a true and tried Mopar fan or Chevy fan there's a different or at least in might heart there's a difference, but lie I said I'm a car guy through and through and probably never be able to afford to have something like that built I'm envious I suppose in those that have them built is what it comes down to. Never meant to offend anyone cause in the end speaking for myself I have a passion for cars and every muscle car ever built should live in some aspects. I hope people keep on building if u can't Owen then at least I can look at them and we'll that makes me happy . Life's to short to be any other way
Now days shops can take the old cigarette lighter out and put it into a 100% new metal car and call it "restored". Which is a lie but that's for the buys to decide if they want to pay for and own a fake.
I wonder if Mark has ever seen a 11 bolt rearend. My father bought a new 70 lemon twist Roadrunner from Rosenstock Crysler Plymouth . The car was the basic 383 3 speed standard transmission . It was radio delete ,Had the bench seat, vent style rear widows. He took the car in for the first service and stayed while they did the service. The dealer said the car had the wrong rear end. It was a 11 bolt rear end. Geared very high. My father told them to leave it in the car.70 in low 120 in 2nd pegged speedo on 150. The dealer promo car was only one of a few hundred built. Not bad for $2,495 right off the showroom floor. They also had a Newport with a 383 with a 3 on the column , it had air conditioning, also for 2,495
I am puzzled by "11 bolt rear end" ??? Dana 60's have 10 bolts. Ditto for Chry 8 3/4's. Chry 9.25" have 12 , and that axle did not exist in 1970. So exactly what are we talking about here ?
Its a fantastic kit car. Better than factory for sure. They do good work. It''ll be a numbers matching barn find in a few years driven by the mysterious "Ghost of Pittsburg" who won all the illegal drag races back in the day.
The OLD Eldelbrock and Carter carbs are essentially the same damn thing... Both carbs were manufactured on the same line at Weber the only real difference is the metering rods. TIFIFY
Seems a lot of “ haters “ - but that is about all they can do ! You guys do nice work ! Customer gets a new car ! Tits - What more could a guy want ? Egg in your beer ? Very nice builds - Thanks Mark & Crew .
i like the fact the owner has chosen to "ride it out" and finish it as a tribute car. The car can be enjoyed at a whole different level now. Good job guys
The answer to the CUDA body color grills is TRUE! The question was not whether there ONLY six colors. The question you posed was are there "six" body color grills. TRUE! There are six colors and more.. 🙂
Alright, Here's a question for ya, Which yr barracuda had bumble bee call outs and badging!? And what did it stand for? I ask because I personally saw one
I wonder if its possible to track down who went through such great lengths to make it seem like a true Cuda? Man your knowledge and attention to detail is truly astonishing.
The faked Cuda is a problem. Even if the owner is okay with the car being a clone, how do you assure the car isn't going to be represented as a real 440 Cuda when/if it's put up for sale? Continuing the build without removing the body numbers is perpetuating a fraud. I have no problem with tribute cars as long as they're represented as such.
It was nice to offer any remaining deposit money back to the owner. Does the purchaser of the rebody car have any recourse for fraud? I can't imagine any DA picking up the case, it's not sexy enough, or something a DA could use as a stepping stone to the next highest political office. And maybe not a winnable case, which seems to be the only cases DAs are willing to take on these days.
probably my favorite Car restoration channel on youtube.. you do not Butcher classic vintage cars you Restore them to factory and not all this resto mod shit... vintage classics are a classic for a reason.
As soon as I know its a tribute Cuda, not all original, I'm putting modern suspension and fuel injection, new disc brakes, all the modern stuff that makes cars great on the inside, and run faster and more reliably down the road.
How is it any more fake than the other 71 barracuda car he is building? That car is 90% out of a catalogue. He is literally doing the same thing....saving the numbers and building a new car around it. At least it is real vintage metal. It has the tag and all the other identifying numbers, it was just done back in the day when you couldn't order it out off a website. Wrecked a cuda, and "rebuilt it" with a parts car.
Mind blowing up! Kudos to Alyssa and Mark what an eye, respect. learned a bunch today
Always so great to see so much knowledge on great cars.
Great job Alyssa decoding that trim tag!
Nice job
Keep up the great work
Looking forward to your future videos
May Gods Blessings be with you and your family always

Love the upgrades. Is a hydraulic valve train available for this motor?

@rodneyficklin9281 I bet that he is going to sell for huge money and what Mark does actually destroys the value of the real deal cars.

“America’s most beautiful and sporty car”. Even in that era packed with beautiful and sporty cars, this was a 100% accurate statement.
Corvette!
Nothing, I mean nothing has more style than the 63 split window Corvette. A American legend.
was it titled as a new car due to the extant of new parts
A piece paper & vin id does not make an AAr cuda ,just a Kit Car it is. "Quality one, still a kit car.
It will be a great daily driver
Great, a f'ing tv show. Out in 27 seconds.

I would also add annoying.
An amazing, better-than-factory ground up build.

The car is not fake. They just used another car to replace almost all the metal, just like you do😂
It is what they do, just done when it couldn't be ordered and you had to pull it out of salvage or donor car.
Sure If a person Kept it for themselves, Do ya really think they'd give a ratsass? I for sure wouldn't
love this show worth watching again
i like the fact the owner has chosen to "ride it out" and finish it as a tribute car. The car can be enjoyed at a whole different level now. Good job guys
That would be so awesome to have a practically new classic car!

Alyssa ❤
Even though this car isn't original from the factory definitely worth owning it. Looks like the original. No rust, no hidden damage and hand built.
Alice's Restaurant? somebody's showing their age. Still got the Vynl album upstairs.
Love his T-Shirt: The Slaughtered Lamb…. From An American Werewolf in London ❤
Just happened upon this channel but I like what y'all got going on here. Nice to see old school Mopar being brought back to life.
LOVE MUSCLE CARS ALTOGETHER 🏎
I wonder if its possible to track down who went through such great lengths to make it seem like a true Cuda? Man your knowledge and attention to detail is truly astonishing.
You are the best!♥️👍
So, how is the car that ONLY has an original roof a real 'Cuda but the car that has all of it's parts fake OR a clone OR a tribute??
"It's a re-body. But, keep building it!"
He has the detective skills of Sherlock Holmes but acts like Clancy Wiggum .
I’m a die hard Mopar Guy, been watching this crew build cars for as long as they have been on TV
Okay I guess I'm ok with this RERUN ♥
I think i have seen such vid already some while ago - might this one here be a re-upload?
Another replay but it was worth watching again
Its a real 440 six pack, just has a factory built rebody
Client wanted a real 71 so he gets a roof?
Haha
That "fraud" is more real.
Cmon guys!... I'm begging you!.. Please stop reshowing stuff you've already posted.... I've seen this footage that many times before it's not funny.
As if Kraft macaroni n cheese is ‘from scratch’ 🤦🏼♂️
Mark has a lot of info in his brain. So, are you still on TV.
That '71 'Cuda came together great. Then they ruined it by painting it black. There is no uglier color for a car than black.
That's your opinion, then don't buy or paint your car black then, opinions are like A*SHOLES, everybody has one!
Looks like someone was trying to scam a buyer
from scratch, so cool to watch

I hate vinyl tops!
Mark is a jackass, but love the crew.
We need to start calling Mark inspector Clouseau!
Damn he's good!👊🏻👍🏻🇺🇲

LMAO Alice's Restaurant
Rest in peace, Barry Newman.
I had a 70 cuda but the Dash had barracuda. The title said Cuda. Was it a real Cuda? Enjoying the channel. Tks for sharing.
some owner gonna be mad when they find out they got a counterfeit... lol. I bet Mark hates those conversations...
fake vin plates were sold att most car shows in the 70s. it was a fun novelty but today there are tons of fake hot cars out there.
That's all true but I injoyd his acting part in super man
So someone tried to make a fake 440-6 'Cuda.
How is it any more fake than the other 71 barracuda car he is building? That car is 90% out of a catalogue.
