Abida Parveen is the first singer I saw who kind of made me realize that a song is also another way of painting or playing with the space. Her hand movements are always such a pleasure to watch. I discovered later that she is also an elite painter and I have to say that didn't surprise me at all! She is one of the best artist alive at the moment and whatever we can hear from her is a treasure to be cherished...Have to still say though that nothing has surpassed her Sufi essence more than 'Raqs-e-Bismal'...still use that sometimes to calm myself down to a peaceful sleep.
Honestly, I liked this first track, but 'Mehram' stole my heart this season. I don't think there will be another track of such perfection this season, although the rest of the songs have all been really good so far, but 'Mehram' is peak transcendence. The two vocalists have soooo much harmony and soul, it's the perfect combination of lyrics, vocals and visuals. I've been listening to that track non stop and can't stop singing it for the past few days. Arooj's voice is the most haunting and lingering voice I've heard in Coke Studio thus far, and thats a very powerful testament to how amazing she sounds.

Every season has a different music producer, this year it’s Zulfiqar “Xulfi”. He also worked on Nescafe basement. My favorite is Rohail Hyatt. This is one song that we all should listen to and feel its dept. Its lyrics are specially written and beautifully preform by our Pakistani legends for each and every one of us in this world. Thank you Coke Studio for this glorious masterpiece.
India and Pakistan both have inherited the heritage of exceeding levels of classical music that goes beyond the call of border politics. It's important for both of them to continue coke studio in its own. Because that's what music is. It must calm you. Synthesised music is the culture now but even then good vocals is sought after. Welcome to the world of "Live Music Videos". Coke Studio is bringing a new and fresh concept this season. Every song is recorded live, with choreography, on a set designed according to the mood/meaning of the song).
Each song will have a new set as you will find out in the next video, you guys need to keep up, they are dropping them left, right and center. Every song is a new gem so far this season, live music videos, plus the reason why CS has always been awesome is that it introduced the hidden Pakistani talent to the world, including the masses of Pakistan, so Xulfi giving the reins of the show to the youth literally fits that narrative, all the sweet goodness of CS with a flair that attracts younger audience as well. Great reaction again guys, I guess that's the creative genius as well. Be ready for another masterpiece in the next one.🇵🇰❤️
Of the 4 songs in the current season of coke studio, I love 3 of them (1, 2 and 4). For some reason the atif aslam and momina didn't click with me. But what I'm loving is that each song is so different. I hope you do react to the rest and thank you so much for taking our suggestions in to consideration 😊💚
I normally love all your reactions but this particular track was supposed to be felt with your eyes closed! It does really leave you in a trance. Sure, it's fascinating to talk about technicalities when you're exploring new music but these few rare pieces really do make you forget that you're sitting in an apartment !
Season 14 is shaping up to be the best season already. I would recommend you go in order, Kana Yaari is next, and my fav so far. It blends the old, current and rap in the same song, you won't regret it.
I was checking the reactions of this channel. In many cases I found reactors are amazed by sitting arrangement (crossing of legs) while singing. In India & obviously in Pakistan & Bangladesh, when someone first starts to learn singing this is the usual method. Sitting on floor / or any place with harmonium, a new learner starts vocal exercise. Generally guru or teacher sits on the opposite sides of the students with the legs crossed. In music schools this is still the most common method of teaching music to new learners.
U can react all episodes of coke studio in order they have released 4 episodes yet 1) Tu jhoom 2)kana yaari 3)Sajan das na 4)mehram And they have also released their song journeies each song has its own journey so should react that also which astonishing because they show in their journey how they prepared and shoot all these songs
You might have already noticed that all our classical musicians use sitting positions only..... I never thought about your analysis on how it affects singing as for us it is common as in classical music sitting posture is also used for tala (tap on lap) or as a support to few instruments (Veena , Tambura) I am not a musical expert... above reaction is only as a music lover and own obesrvations.
Actually, sitting cross- legged is a very relaxing and stable posture. The back is straight but not strained, the muscle and tissues don't get stretched and the heart doesn't have to work very hard to pump the blood to the extremities of the body. This is the reason why meditating for long hours and many yoga asanas are done using this posture, as is eating food in many Asian cultures. If one overcomes the seemingly difficult looking idea of sitting cross- legged, it is the one of the best ways to do anything without straining of muscles. :)
Agreed that sitting down and singing is harder from a technical view. As a Pakistani American, when I sang for cover rock bands, I used to stand up and and place one of my foot on my mic box to expand my diaphragm.
This season, the production is on another level... It all happened live.. You can watch the BTS of these songs... Plus, Zulfiqar Jabbar Khan aka xulfi/Zulfi will take people on a rollercoaster ride with his immense experience in music. Fingers crossed.. P.s you both look amazing 👍🏼
Glad to see you guys came back to Coke Studio! Tu Jhoom isn’t what the translation shows but simply just an invocation to sway and dance your worries away.
I really recommend Bhanvari Devi and Hard Kaur's song "Kattey", from Coke Studio India. It is more of th "old traditional music with modern sensibilities" vibe you like so much. Hard Kaur is an Indian-British rapper, and Bhanvari Devi has an amazingly powerful and raw voice, singing in the Rajasthani folk style. All with modern arrangement, of course.
This time in this season 14 coke studio Pakistan has just transcended all limits of greatness and perfection and all other songs of this season released till now are just unrealisticaly perfect and so moving
Hey guys i love your reactions and thank you for reacting to pinga. i have another suggestion, it is from coke studio too "afreen afreen". i am sure you'll loveeeee it. it is one of my favourites. love from india.
So the word "jhoom" by itself means to dance in trance of one's inner feeling. The meanings you see on screen are the ones the word conveys in connection with the lyrics it's meaning to complement. Which is why it seems to have so many meanings and far more elaborate meanings than what a single word by itself means. The word "Tu" means you by the way. Hope this helps. Glad you liked it, Keep it up 👍🏽
Do not miss out a single song this season......xulfi is producing this....same producer as nescafe basement....please adjust your room lighting tones and moods to song beforehand......so u can absorb it
Jhoom literally means to swing/sway, especially in a trance. Tu means you. So Tu jhoom literally means you should sway in a trance. The translation in the lyrics is the metaphorical meaning of the term used in the song. That in a trance you transcend into a higher realm spiritually. All the songs in Coke Studios 14 are original tracks, not covers. Zulfi, the producer this year, is the guy behind Nescafe Basement, and he focuses alot on experimenting with progressive sounds and backs up alot of the newer talent. Giving the younger lot a chance and exposure to the limelight
Great reaction. Such an inspirational video this is. Feeling so inspired and positive after this video, thanks! Listening to this song. Tu Jhoom speaks about humility and selflessness. Coke Studio hits refresh and takes off with vocal powerhouses Abida Parveen and Naseebo Lal in perfect sonic harmony. The implications of the lyrics of Tu Jhoom are far and wide and this is a perfect start to #CokeStudio14. Listening and watching the first song from #cokestudio14 and I have nothing but love and appreciation for our music and our musicians! Coke studio is our export to the world. Absolutely breathtaking.
The funny thing is everything is happening is live and even the shot of music are first time on the spot. No retake.. You didn't watched last 13 season that's why you don't know.. But this season is lit. ❤️
Please listen to Max Changmin's latest releases: - Devil MV (AKA SOTY) - Maniac promotional video (it is basically an mv) - Fever stage performance Everything about this mini album is straight up ART!
Finally after three months, you have a chance to react on the Coke Studio. I liked this song from the new season, but it seems that now they are focussing on the visuals more, probably to get the younger audience, but as a serious music lover, I prefer the style of the previous seasons, which focussed more on the singers and the musicians, which is admired all around the world (East & West both). The Vocal Mastery is the key to the popularity of the Pakistani singers. I am not into the modern movie music from the subcontinent, with shallow lyrics and the compositions, for stupid dance moves. I like the music with the touch of Folk, Ghazal, Sufi, and Semi Classical, which touches the heart and soul, like (Tu Jhoom) . Please react to Nusrat fateh ali khan| best raag & Sargam whatsapp status , 3,480,456 views, Sep 15, 2020 ( No lyrics or titles ; 3:23 minutes) ; Also, the Coke Studio Season 10| NAINA MORAY| Javed Bashir & Akbar Ali feat. A smile suddenly comes on my face when i open youtube and see your video reacting to a Pakistani song, you guys are simply Brilliant . btw i have a suggestion/request for you to review Hairan Hua by Sanam Marvi (Coke Studio) ...
hi siblings, another perspective: jhoom literally means to sway, in this case swaying in a trance, in another plane beyond the material world (think twirling dervishes)

Good to have you guys back reacting to Pakistani music React to more coke studio please pure talent❤️
I love this song, its meaning and the way it is sung, who it is sung by. I feel like I can see it through new eyes with your reaction.
This song is not a remake, a brand new song for everyone to enjoy!!!
She's embodiment of what she's singing literally so true.
When you stop multiple times you disconnect from the soul of the music, ❤️❤️❤️ love guys
Yes agree
I agree too
waleska and efra yall HAVE to check out this entire season 14 (5 episodes are out so far including Tu Jhoom)
It is a Spiritual song...and Abida Parveen is a Sufi Musician.
U can react all episodes of coke studio in order they have released 4 episodes yet
1) Tu jhoom
2)kana yaari
3)Sajan das na
4)mehram
And they have also released their song journeies each song has its own journey so should react that also which astonishing because they show in their journey how they prepared and shoot all these songs
You might have already noticed that all our classical musicians use sitting positions only..... I never thought about your analysis on how it affects singing as for us it is common as in classical music sitting posture is also used for tala (tap on lap) or as a support to few instruments (Veena , Tambura)
I am not a musical expert... above reaction is only as a music lover and own obesrvations.
Coke Studio Season 14 has been amazing so far. Not even a single miss. You should listen to all the tracks.
All with modern arrangement, of course.
they should also do the "saathi salaam" "husna" and "chadd de" as those are the masterpieces can't get away from my mind from the CS INDIA! ♥️
This time in this season 14 coke studio Pakistan has just transcended all limits of greatness and perfection and all other songs of this season released till now are just unrealisticaly perfect and so moving
Hey guys i love your reactions and thank you for reacting to pinga. i have another suggestion, it is from coke studio too "afreen afreen". i am sure you'll loveeeee it. it is one of my favourites. love from india.
they have already reacted to afreen afreen..
Watch behind the scenes of each songs to get know that all were live and performed same time in one shot... Singing, video, dancing and all lightning.
You guys are wonderfull. 6 song of season 14 have been released . But MEHRAM is the most loved one which is 4th one in a row
Tu jhoom literally means to sway but the subtitles was showing its interpretation....that amazing.....
Lot's of love from Pakistan you guys are great welcome to Coke studio season 14 world plz react on more new songs from S14 ♥️♥️♥️♥️
Glad you liked it, Keep it up 👍🏽
THIS SEASON IS ON FIRE THIS SEASON IS CHANGED
WE WANT MORE REACTION ON COKE STUDIO SEASON 14 PLEASE
Coke studio always record all its songs in one take no cuts this is one of its speciality through out all seasons of it
Do not miss out a single song this season......xulfi is producing this....same producer as nescafe basement....please adjust your room lighting tones and moods to song beforehand......so u can absorb it
Jhoom literally means to swing/sway, especially in a trance.
You should react to all coke studio 14 songs
I know Abida Parveen very well. She is amazing singer.. She is a good student of Classical music of Pakistan.
I'm sure someone else told you this already, but still, I'm going to say it again. Coke studio season 14 is all single take and single audio :)
it's all about the islamic sufi culture not every indivisual is that lucky to undersatnd and feel this
Great reaction.
Please listen to Max Changmin's latest releases:
- Devil MV (AKA SOTY)
- Maniac promotional video (it is basically an mv)
- Fever stage performance
Everything about this mini album is straight up ART!
You gotta check out Kana yaari, mehram, neray neray vas from season 14.
Aamir Zaki 4,100,403 views, Sep 1, 2017 (10:10 minutes). Please do both in the same show. Thanks
Watch kana yaari next you’ll love it!!
Highly recommend the Nobel Peace Prize 'RAAG' reaction - Rahet Fateh Ali Khan performed when Malala was inducted.
A smile suddenly comes on my face when i open youtube and see your video reacting to a Pakistani song, you guys are simply Brilliant . btw i have a suggestion/request for you to review Hairan Hua by Sanam Marvi (Coke Studio) ...
hi siblings, another perspective: jhoom literally means to sway, in this case swaying in a trance, in another plane beyond the material world (think twirling dervishes)
mostttt awaited reaction..... pls pls react to all other peices of coke studio 14... big fan of coke studio from INDIA
3:05 "what is that? its like a drum machine on crack" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 i love your comments bro🤣
Her voice makes the heart melt.
This whole season is masterpiece ❤ everything is unique in this every song has different set different vibe and the good thing is lots of young talent in this season ❤
Fun fact:The lyrics of this song written by adnan dhol the guy who sung BOL HU (nescafe basement)
YOU CAN'T REACT TO THIS SONG WITHOUT KNOWING THE DEPTH TO THESE LYRICS.
Peeraan noo mein seenay lawaan
I hold all the scrutiny and pain close to my heart (close to me)
Te mein hasdi jawaan
And yet I rejoice and laugh
Dhoopan de nal larr larr ke mein
I have fought with the (harsh)sunlight
Labiaan apniaan chaanwaan
And found my shadow(shelter within)
Dukh vi apne , sukh vi apnay
My sorrows are my own and so is my joy
Mein te bass aae janaa
I have understood this fact in my life
Sab noo samajh ke ki karna ae what do I wish to accomplish by understanding everyone else
Dil noo ae samjhwaan
Is what I convince my heart of
Tu jhoom jhoom jhoom jhoom
just sway in ecstasy.... (lose yourself)
Mein deewaani kuj na jaana
I am a devotee, who has left this world behind
Mast hoo ke gawaan
ecstatic, i sing
Dunya raazi kar ke kamlay
Even after fulfilling the demands of this world
Fir vi chaain nai anna
Your soul will not be at peace (satisfied)
Saari khushyaan mill jawan te
If you find all the happiness this world has to offer
Piche ki rah jaana
Then what will be left behind (what joy will remain?)
Tere bass mein kuj vi nai ae
There is nothing in your control
Dil noo ae samjhana
Teach this fact to your heart
Tu jhoom ..... just sway in ecstasy.... (lose yourself)
Mein raazi apni zaat toon
I am satisfied and content with my being
Mein utte apni aukaat toon
God has blessed me more than which I deserve
Ae dunya meri fikr nai
This world is not what i concern myself with
Mein samajh gai har baat noo
I now understand everything said to me
Kee karna ae uchia shana noo
What would you make of this high worldly status
Kee hath laana asmaana noo Why (o why), do you wish to touch the skies?
Mein hasde hasde hai jeena
I want to live my life laughing
Mein nikal gai gumaana toon
I am not in the custody of these worldly affairs anymore.
Mein te meri wargi aa te
I am like me
Kud toh kuin sharmaanaa
Why should I be embarrassed of this fact.
Dunya raazi kar vi lai
Even after fulfilling worldly desires
Fir vi chaain nai aana
You will not be satisfied.
Jo hai tera lab jaave ga
What is meant to be your will find its way to you
Kar ke koi bahaana
all it needs is an excuse.
Tere bass mein mein kuj vi nai ae There is nothing in your control
Dil noo ae samjhana
Teach this fact to your heart
Tu jhoom ..... just sway in ecstasy.... (lose yourself)
Mein deewani kuj na jana
(I am in ecstasy, I am unaware of this world)
Mein mastani kuj na jaana
(I have lost my senses, I am unaware of this world)
Tu jhoom... just lose yourself and sway (dance)
Nigah e yaar jisse aashna e raaz kare
He who has been revealed all the secrets to by the friendly watchfulness (of God)
Woh apni khoobi e kismat pe kuin na naaz kare
why would he not be grateful and proud of his stroke of luck.
Tu jhoom.... (You should dance in ecstasy )
by the way guys ...i think to explain sitting down position & still be able to sing perfectly.. they are perfectly able to sing standing but sitting down has something to the earth or ground area ..i think ? sorry if i make a mistake
Tu jhoom is essentially You swirl, like the swirling dervishes of Turkey. It is essentially a Sufi dancing to a trance. Spiritual love between human and God
You need to listen to “Ya Qurban” from Coke Studio, you’ll love it 🤍🤍🤍
