He's wrong about the only cause for a track that's not shiny . Records that have a heavily modulated track (loud music) are always less shiny than quiet tracks , and this is especially true with classical music which usually have greater dynamic range than popular music .I'm as old as him , played lots of records .

Not just one reason. But when I speak to owners of records that bring them to us for restoration, on asking original owners of the processes used prior and seeing the grey on one track, using Tergitol cleaning base and confirming the repeated play of one song repeatedly confirms on of our observations when compared to the same music styles
