*ATTENTION* These "audiophile" playlist all over TH-cam are full of great music and sound pretty good BUT they are NOT hi-res or audiophile quality. TH-cam audio maxes out at either 128kbps/44.1khz AAC or most common 160kbps/48khz Opus 251. Most of these playlist are high quality uploads to TH-cam but they will be converted and compressed before playback. They do sound nice because Opus 251 is a great codec but not hi-res by any stretch. A standard CD can be up to 1141kbps/44.1khz, potentially much better. Manufactures have miss represented hi-res audio to leverage it as a selling point. In reality there isn't a system on the planet that can reproduce more than 20 or 21 bit audio and 99% of listeners don't have gear that can actually reproduce hi-res or 24bit audio. Its OK these playlists aren't "audiophile" quality, goes to show codecs and compressed audio is getting better and can be very good at convincing most people. Also setting your DAC or Windows audio to 24/192 doesn't auto-magically make all you music hi-res or 24bit. It may sound different and that may seem better to your ears but its not that simple or cheap to properly up-sample audio especially if its TH-cam quality. The reason all these playlists sound good is because the initial recording and mastering not because of some ridiculously hi sampling rate.

somehow it feels like a sales person trying to convince me to buy into high end gear. which i never gonna buy it anymore. if i want hi res just buy ticket and come to the live performance band tour/festival. that's a real thousand might be million dollar equipment is being use everywhere.

Listening to this in 2024 with my 2 pairs of Denon x Mission bookshelf speakers combined with an AVS Sub 8 Cerwin Vega and a standard amplifier feels good.

I just spend $85,324 on some oxygen free metaloid mu metal shielded fiber optic cables, my trained 65 year old ear can hear all the difference, the depth, the roominess, the colors, the stage and all the encabulator resonance comes out, a true pleasure to listen on my custom made 4200lb african Ivory multi transducer speakers.

Man....I just jammed this through my main rig, Moon 350P Dac/preamp, Bryston 14B, B&W Nautilus 802's and a JL E112 Sub- As others had said, even through youtube it sounded great. Fantastic collage of instruments and genres' . The drum solo between 4min and 10 was killer!

Great bass and highs ..no fancy speakers like allways shown...just have 4 Bose 901 with 2 Denon pre and power amps..they have the best surround sound I can imagine. THX for the great music.
TH-cam does compress the sound but it's still very highly clear, sharp...perfect. I can only imagine then what it sounds before it's uploaded......WOW.....Thankyou for uploading 🖒❤

Used to test my nearly 50 year old Kenwood and Bose speakers. I had an intermittent, occasional issue and the wide range of this plus THX sound effects really helped me find my issue.
I used to be a QC tech for a company that fixed and refurbished Pioneer and Sony department store systems and Dennon & Marantz components. I had O scope, nice DVOM for checking grounds and resistors, full ISO work environment with ESD procedures for disassembled units and the one thing I miss the most is having access to Dolby, THX, and manufacturer demo media for fullrange testing.

@@lazertag720 sennheiser ie 500 pro, but if you want a really good IEM for cheap buy yhe KZ ZS10 PRO they are insanely good for the price they beat some 400dollar IEM which is insane. Each ear has 5 audio drivers. Idk how but those IEM are nuts for the price

@@lazertag720 to be honest its been a while since I bought my devices so my knowledge deterioted a lot.. I honestly think the kz zs10 pro is better than the zsx atleast thats what i heard from some really knowledgable youtubers, i cant really give any advice on the shures all i know is they tend to be overrated if you compare them to the KZ ZS 10 PRO for example. check out the video of Z reviews on the ZS10, he gives some proper information.

i haven't enjoyed something this much since i started college!
First time I bought a relatively OK sound system for my PC WHICH I connected it digitally with SPDIF. I have to say I'm impressed although it doesn't support 32bit audio. Only up to 24bit 96Khz, but it's OK. It sounds slightly better or at least same to 32bit 192Khz with normal 3 x 3.5mm jacks.
Although, for PC, still nothing beats my good old Z-5500. For 15 years they were working flawlessly and me the freakin' idiot, I sold 'em for much more money than I bought them 15 years ago but still regretted it. Worst move I've ever made. It was such a flawless system. The successor (Z 906) which I currently have was less expensive but not as good in any metric. Even build quality is plastic without metal heat-sinker for the woofer/main unit while the Z-5500 was good quality wood with an extremely big metal heat-sinker. Conclusion, try to find Z5500 instead, even used, just test it in case it has any speaker problem.

People really underestimate the quality of youtube audio. If you right click on the video and go to "stats for nerds" you'll see that its using the OPUS codec. Opus is extremely efficient even at the lowest of bitrates, so presuming the uploader's base files are already as high resolution as youtube can allow, then the OPUS audio compression really won't be doing much.

I'm listening to this on my stereo system, I don't have a center channel and in the first song it sounds like the instruments are coming from in-between the speakers. Trippy as he'll but cool as hell to.

2 Design acoustics d-2 ,2 design acoustics da900, pioneer sa-1490. I wish i still had my bozak b 4000a symphonies. I got them as a young teen for $50 at a garage sale like 18yr ago. Pissed off my parents with them till the woofers let the smoke out. I used the cabinets for car audio subs in the bed of my truck. I still have the crossovers from them.

Listening with my Focal Clear Studio Reference Headphones on Light Harmonic Lab's 32 bit Pulse Infinity with twin ESS Sabre DAC chips, twin Femto Clocks, Naked Resistors upgrades. Breath taking sound...a fine collection to test sound. I can't imagine anything clearer, more crisp, more accurate and real than this...natural presence. For a much maligned Headphone Amp/DAC this equipment works magic.

This sounds super compressed to me. I'm not familiar with the actual songs in the video (which are different from what was written in the description) but I really don't think TH-cam is the best place for hi-fi audio considering their audio is routinely compressed to oblivion. HDtracks is a much better free source.

As far as I am aware, TH-cam compresses both audio and video with lossy codecs, if so, how does this seem to sound better than the majority of lossless files I have encountered?
I think that you hear it so clear because the source for edit could be a wav or flac, but, as you say, TH-cam compress audio to 320kbps (or so, as far as i remember, i see comments that say less)
