the treasure the vikings was after was gold and silver peals, when someone saves a book, you hold onto that idea of a man.

one could argue that Vikings were even luckier that Ragnar found him. Knowledge Athelstan gave Ragnar was priceless and later foundation of what Vikings became.

Athelstan was easily my least favourite character in all of the tv shows I have watched. I wish they just cut him and showed a historically accurate story of Ragnar Lothebrok, the actual history is far more entertaining and interesting than whatever some deluded unimaginative fool can make up.
