  • Whereas wine used to be only grown in regions in southern and central Europe, today, due to climate change, it is cultivated in more northerly European countries like Norway. While summers have become warmer as a result of global warming, winters remain cold. That’s why vineyards like Lerkekåsa - located on the 59th parallel, which passes through Alaska and southern Greenland - use grapes that are resistant to the cold conditions. Lerkekåsa is one of the northernmost vineyards on Earth.
