I lived in Conway, AR in the mid-90s...I worked for attorney Jack Roberts. I unfortunately had to leave....it was one of 2 places I lived in my life that I balled my eyes out when I had to leave. What a little beauty....❤❤❤
You are so right! 99% is cosmetic restoration. The mature landscape, location, the fact that it WASN’T left abandoned, and the structural integrity of the home and garage make this the perfect project! Thank you for sharing this with us! B~}
@@jeannerountree952 I still have one in my front bedroom, lol. I think they are a quick & cheap fix for unsightly ceilings plus they save on heat if you are in a colder climate. They were in alot of rooms in my home and little by little I removed them and had new dry wall put up.
Wow!! Another fabulous diamond in the rough!! What an awesome family home this will make! An apt in the former workshop would be a nice way to help pay off the morgage!❤
I absolutely adore Victorian homes and I hope this beauty finds wonderful caretakers and restores her to her original glory! Thank you guys for giving us a tour! ❤️🥰
That is a beautiful house and such a nice level acre - what a wonderful garden you could have. I hope someone gets this that’ll treasure it for the gem it is. Thanks for sharing !
Hey guys! I love this place and what an added bonus to be your neighbor! Someone will snatch this up quick! Thank you guys for sharing all of these beautiful places with us. I love your channel.
Amazing house! Perfect opportunity for someone to fix up and cherish! The stained-glass windows are beautiful! Was that a cute little fairy door on one of the trees in the backyard (9:40)? Too cute! Wonderful video!
Great house in a beautiful nature preserve. I guess that is where the family spent their time because, 4 generations and they haven’t updated since the 70’s. But for 2866 square feet, it seems much larger.
That's a charming home. The front of the house above the front door is strangely blank looking. What is in there? An old chimney? I did not see any fireplaces.
I think you two should buy it and restore it...think about it...an short commute to work...a workshop space to work out of...a solid foundation...And then you can choose your neighbors when you sell it! Win win
Frankly I would love to be your neighbor but my husband likes to golf year 'round. I looked at the pictures in Zillow and see a lot of wallpaper "gotta go" and carpet removal but it's so charming!
I think I would consider that move in ready and just do projects at my leisure. My house was remuddled in the 80s and now every quick fix is literally falling apart. I feel like the mad bomber game from Atari as we try to head off the problems that are popping up now.
There is so much space in this one! The huge level lot is great, and given the lush greenery, it looks like it would work for ornamental gardening, or even as a small farm. Not sure if you have a theory about drop ceilings, but my guess is that less air space above would reduce heating bills, and it was also a style thing, making a space look more 'modern'. Of course, it's horribly dated now. To me they make the space look like an office or a mobile home. :(
It will make a lovely home indeed. The kitchen is a fantastic space. I would love to take on that home but for the price. I think they're under water now and I believe it's going to get worse in the coming month's with a price correction/crash. Long term it will level out and could make sense for a family that knows they can stay put and afloat no matter what comes. Most investors at this point are waiting on the sidelines for the crash prices. The great part is that most all the work can be DIY. So if it even gets close to the $75k Kevin stated it would be spread out over the year's of the project and not be a big outlay starting day one. A perfect scenario for a lot of people. It will be beautiful when completed. It's listed as a cash sale only? That alone drastically shrinks their potential buyers market.
My husband and I are looking for a place to transform with love here in NC. I’m concerned with protecting ourselves from possible asbestos exposure when removing dropped ceilings. Any tips or suggestions would be welcome. Thanks for all you do! Love!
Sometimes the wood isn’t great as a stand alone and needs to be painted. With a house of this age it most likely has good quality wood. But to paint brown wood brown doesn’t make sense to me.
It reminds me of the Winchester House in CA, built in 1884, where some of the rooms and corridors' wood is painted in the same color scheme. Winchester is a mysterious house; it is also mysterious why someone would paint the wood brown. Was it fashionable back then?
My old house has drop ceilings also but I’m scared to take them out. The drop ceilings are in great shape and I have no clue what I’d be getting myself into if I started ripping them down….eek😬
This is a beauty. Whoever invented drop ceilings should be shamed of themselves. I HATE DROP CEILINGS! Ugliest thing ever invented! Our 1879 house had EVERY ROOM with drop ceilings! UGH !
Are you guys aware of the superstition of Haint Blue? I lived in SC, GA, FL & WV. People would paint the ceilings of their porches Haint Blue to ward off evil spirits. I noticed your home is a shade of Haint Blue but I can't see your porch ceiling. I know you've both said you love the color but I was just wondering if you were aware of the superstitions behind it.
Is there a town in America that doesn’t have tracks running through it? This house is a mile from tracks, further than our home. We can barely hear them sometimes. But golly, thanks for your positive interjection.
@@OurRestorationNation If we can see the train clearly in the background it ain't no mile away also depending on where it has to sound off as it goes through town depends alot on what you're going to be hearing
I don’t know what you are seeing, but it’s not the train. Argue all you want, but I LIVE HERE. Like, right HERE. But by all means, you absolutely know more about living in my neighborhood than I do🙄
We say Tran-some. How do you pronounce it? I may sound odd in this video because I’d had all four of my wisdom teeth out three days before I did the VO

My hubby and I go to Conway often. Love that city!
Lovely home. Thanks for showing us.👏🏼👏🏼
Wow that is a beautiful home! I only wish I was younger to be able to take on such a project. ❤

I can't believe that window on the staircase is still intact... This is fantastic!
Great job, Kevin and Laine! I hope that someone lovingly restores this home-what a find!
1:41 That restoration is PHENOMENAL!!
Charming house. I'm wondering if some windows were removed in front under the gable? It seems that there should be a window there
That was my though too, it just looks off somehow.
@@christinef7739 yes, but i thing there is the staircase
I had the same thought
It does seem to lack some windows.
I’m guessing there was a double window in the center
Drop as in ceilings should be a four letter word, lol. Your house is gorgeous!
I don’t think I’ll understand why anybody put in a dropped ceiling. Can anyone answer that?

C’est une bonne idée de faire la description en voice over pour votre série For Sale. Merci Kevin et Laine 💖!
I can just see a big happy family living there for years and years! ❤

Beautiful
Thanks so much for another beautiful home tour. I hope the new owner appreciates all the history of the house.
This house is stunning!
Love your show. I love old houses. Had one once. Miss it.
How neat would it be if you could revisit it? That is, if the new stewards are able to give it the restoration it deserves...
❤❤ I can totally see the potential of this home. Beautiful ❤❤
Beautiful House. That is an easy fix. Enjoyed.
Nice, has alot of potential. Something you can work on at your own pace.
So much fun to have in that lady.
Oh how heart-grabbing is this charmer ❓‼❣It would be tough to get me to leave Hot Springs but she sure would be worth it. Thank you 😃
This is a WOW!
Wow a beautiful big house 🏠 😍

You need to show 316 Main Street in Enterprise, MS. It has never been on the market and has all its original furniture !!!14' ceilings.
There is so much space in this one! The huge level lot is great, and given the lush greenery, it looks like it would work for ornamental gardening, or even as a small farm. Definitely dropped ceilings. They were obsessed with painting beautiful wood. It's got loads of potential. Beautiful property too.
I like Conway- they have a little of everything there 😂

I thought you lived in Little Rock! My stepson, Sidney Parish, lives in Conway. He used to work at the golf club as grounds keeper.
I don’t understand why someone would paint wood brown.
Lazy
I agree. Beautiful woodwork should not be painted unless it is been abused or unable to fefinish.
Sometimes the wood isn’t great as a stand alone and needs to be painted. With a house of this age it most likely has good quality wood. But to paint brown wood brown doesn’t make sense to me.
My guess would be to treat mold and/or prevent having to clean/ treat/ upkeep all the woodwork.
It reminds me of the Winchester House in CA, built in 1884, where some of the rooms and corridors' wood is painted in the same color scheme. Winchester is a mysterious house; it is also mysterious why someone would paint the wood brown. Was it fashionable back then?
Hello that is great

I love it n would love to be your neighbor !!!! ❤💖❤️💗
There's a filled-in window on the front.
Can I bring my dairy sheep (just one). And chickens? I’m looking to urban homestead. An acre would be perfect!
In fact you can! We had a flock of Sebastopol geese and call ducks in our yard for years. Small livestock are 100% allowed!
Was $75,000 the asking price? This is such a find with that amount of land in a walkable city!
No no. They’re asking $275 I believe.
Do you know which year the house was built? And the new electric was added to the entire house? Thank you.
Original structure is 1896 but I don’t know about wiring.
It’s BEAUTIFUL and it has a storm cellar. I desperately want ant to strip that 💩 brown paint off that gorgeous wood though. 😂
Is that only one acre?! Seems a whole bigger.
Someone with moolah needs to quickly snatch that investment.
Zillow has this off market... What happened?
I’m not sure. Maybe it sold but I haven’t heard.
Well, their asking $360,000. but then you need $75,000. more to restore it! That's a whole lot of money. But it is a beautiful house.
What is the asking price
$375k. The Zillow listing is in the description.
