I wish these small house designs could include a small foyer, akin to a Japanese genkan, where one could leave one’s outdoor shoes, hang up coats, and leave keys on a tray atop the shoe cabinet. It doesn’t have to be big! Just a small buffer between the outdoors and one’s inside haven. I can’t imagine going straight from the front door to the home’s interior and tracking in outdoor dirt and grime.
I like it! Having that outdoor living area really gives this house an edge, otherwise it's pretty small. It's a nice layout, with the exception of counter space; it could use more but understandably for the small space, it is functional. Love the outdoor fireplace and I think it's perfectly situated for a cozy seating area opposite end to eating area. Overall, very nice.
I want to be "wowed" when I walk through that front door. The living room is a downer for me. I guess, I was expecting a beautiful fireplace to go with the rest of this beautiful home on the inside. It really is a lovely home though.
I will not have brick/stone in a home’s interior (like it exteriorly) as it is difficult to keep clean of dust and cobwebs. The wood stove should NOT have a as sharp of a 45 degree turn, needs to vent straight up and out or a slight curve. Put a damper on if there’s a concern for wildlife/rain home entry. Living room is too small. Looking for an open floor plan and this is not it. Great kitchen, happy to see a half bath but not in a laundry area, laundry room has some wasted space. Vented outside too? Bedrooms are about 2’ too small, no master suite but with the half bath access and full near bedrooms is livable. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the outdoor fireplace which adds some living space outdoors for about 4 extra months of the year for parts of the north or mountain living.
I love the vibe AVN portrays! I wish you could create a small 2 bedroom u-shaped home with a wrapped around back porch with a pool in the center. The back corner has an open outdoor living/kitchen/bath with fireplace (only open to the pool and back). Also, small mother in law quarters in there! Not too much to ask! Haha! I wish you could see my vision! I believe you could create my last retirement home.
Hello, we like your house proposal so much that we are considering building it exactly like that for ourselves do you have plans anddimensions that we could use
Love everything about the design except placement of wood burning fireplace. Just seems awkward.... Kitchen and dining room area are great; love the laundry room with adjoining half bath and both bedrooms are decent size. And absolutely adore covered porch off living room with fireplace!!!
You can not place a wood burning stove next to furnishings, much less a cloth sofa! Also, a heat shield needs to be placed behind the stove as well as the stove needs to be placed up off the floor onto a brick platform/foundation unless it is a slab foor or brick floor. Once again the house design is adorable but for me on a larger scale like 3bd, 2ba with all walk-in closets a d a walk-in laundry's large enough to also house a chest freezer. Now the master bedroom is way to small and not enough sufficient closet space for a couples clothing much less bulky winter coats, shoes, boots etc! These type of homes are great for single folks or a youngster just starting out!!
If you onew anything about a wood burner...you cannot place it that close to the couch..fire hazard and it would he to hot to sit thete.. opposite wall
Not fond of the use of stone in just one corner of the house and the stone structure around the kitchen stove. The layout of the house seems functional.

Wood burning stove is in an awkward place. Love the laundry and 1/2 bath combo. Super cute kitchen.
The stove also needs a fireproof pad and wall protection.
It’s a computer rendering
Switch the kitchen and dining room and install a double sided fireplace.

That porch could also be easily screened in for those of us who love hanging out outside, but are prohibited from doing so because of the bugs!

Beautiful. nicely setup and decent storage. Would only change a few small things. Love wood/pellet stove.

To glumi and dark with these smal rooms..

@@Bobrogers99 You can clean the stone of the grease and dust sticking to it then! LoL!
@@teresal5553 A smooth, non-porous surface is best for around a stove or cooktop. If you want stone, you can clean it! ;-)
Wood burning stove poorly placed, laundry adjacent to sitting room ?? Not ideal!
Your wood stove is in violation of building codes. You will burn that house down the first time you use it.
