What are the benefits of SoftBank Air? That is, "no construction required". Since it communicates wirelessly with a mobile phone, there is no need for troublesome work or opening tests like fixed lines. A terminal called an air terminal will be sent to you, so you can use it immediately by connecting it to an outlet and setting up Wi-Fi.
This mechanism is not limited to SoftBank Air, but there are other services such as WiMAX, but there is no doubt that it is easy. However, if you balance it with other disadvantages, such convenience is only the first time, so it will be blown away.
I think of SoftBank Air's "Trouble-chan points" are the following two.

First, the communication speed may slow down. Earlier, I would like to touch on communication standards. If you're watching this video, I think there are many people who say, "I just need to connect" or "I just need to get some speed." That's right. Ultimately, that's it.
Why is SoftBank Air difficult to connect depending on where you live, please put an air terminal near the window
Roughly speaking, the radio waves used by SoftBank Air are the following three.
1. FDD-LTE
2. TD-LTE
3. AXGP
You may have heard the word LTE, but if you knew AXP, you would be an industry gin. This AXP is a habit.
There used to be a PHS service called WILLCOM. Now, along with Ymobile, it has been absorbed by Softbank, but communication using the PHS antenna used by WILLCOM will be AXP.
In other words, we are communicating using radio waves that have been around for quite some time. It's not the latest equipment. Although the version has been upgraded, the communication speed will still be slower.
In addition, this radio wave has a high frequency, so it has sufficient straightness, but it is vulnerable to obstacles. That's why you should install it near the window. This is not the case with mobile phones.
Except for the difficult standards, SoftBank Air's reputation is not good because it uses old communication standards about 10 years ago and it is difficult to connect the characteristics of radio waves. Of course, in a place with good visibility and good conditions, you can expect a reasonable speed, but how many places will match it?
There are numbers 2, 3, and 4 behind the air terminal you use, but terminals up to 2 can only use this AXP, so the speed may be much slower. In the case of SoftBank Air, it seems that the terminal to be specified is decided depending on the area where you live.
In Mr. A's area, it's like Air Terminal 4, and in Mr. B's area, it's like Air Terminal 2. It seems that there is a distribution depending on the radio waves of the base station near where you live. In the unlikely event that you make a contract, please check carefully in advance.
And next is the story of money. The point is that the terminal purchase system is really black. The price of the air terminal will be less than 60,000 yen. First, about this price. The communication mechanism is the same as that of a mobile phone.
As I mentioned earlier, apart from the poor radio waves used, it does not have a liquid crystal display, only a communication device such as an antenna, so if you consider only the parts, it will probably not cost 10,000 yen. Please note that the cost price is only an estimate.
Moreover, since it is a rather rugged device, it does not have the precision of a smartphone. Mobile routers these days are very small, aren't they? It is the size of a palm.
Why is the air terminal so big when it's doing the same thing? That is because the antenna part is large. If you turn it over, it proves that it will be difficult to connect unless the antenna part is enlarged. Did you know that 4 is bigger than Air Terminal 3? Originally, it's normal for the world to get smaller. If you think logically, you can see what it means.
By the way, I bought Air Terminal 3 at Yahoo Auction and tried to disassemble it. The inside is squishy, and most of the antennas are for communication with the base station and the antenna for Wi-Fi. Such a device costs 60,000 yen. I feel the darkness. What do you guys think?

3:00 通信規格イコール高い周波数ではないですよ、FDD-LTEとTDD-LTEは周波数分割か時分割の違いですから。
SoftBankで使われているbandのうちSoftBank Airで提供されているのが（エアターミナルの仕様）AXGP(2.5GHz帯)TDD-LTE (3.5GHz帯)FDD-LTE (2.1GHz帯)と言う事です。エアターミナル2まではAXGP(2.5GHz帯)のみ対応。
この動画では通信規格イコール高い周波数のように聞こえましたので書いています。
SoftBankにはFDD-LTE(900MHz帯)もありますが、SoftBank Airで使われないのはSoftBank Airが無制限を謳うサービスなので切り分ける狙いがあるのかも知れませんけど
7:00 持ち込み対応はSoftBank Air公式に書いていなかったり、SoftBankショップでは対応していないので注意して下さい。電話のSoftBank Airお問い合わせ窓口での案内となります。
あとエアターミナルの残債がある場合は契約出来ません。そこまでしてSoftBank Airの利用をする必要も無いかと思いますが、光回線工事が出来ないとか事情がある人はレンタルWiFiなどのモバイルルーターとかでも良いかと

2) 契約は解除して、新しい別のサービスに交換

SoftBank Airに購入で2年契約で1年経ったんですが遅いので解約したいんですがこれ残りの20000円くらいのはどうなるですか？

エアターミナルを購入（分割払い）されたのなら、残債は解約時に一括請求されるのでは？ないでしょうか。あとは、途中解約ならば、解除料10,450円も支払いが必要になるかと。詳しくは契約元にご確認くださいね^^

このWi-Fiを使っていますが、とにかく遅いです。動画をアップしようものなら何時間と待たされるのもざらです。

楽天回線エリアなら、上り・下りのスピードは楽天のほうが良いかと。ソフトバンクエアーは上りがかなり遅い（下りも遅いけど）ので、いろいろ困るかと思いますね。
