Hi! thank you for asking :) It's kind of hard to explain... I guess I never really went into detail about what each song meant, but the EP as a whole meant so much to me. All together, it was like my little baby, I really put everything into it. A few years ago, I really fell out of love with music and what I was doing, and just got really depressed if I'm honest. I spent a year working as a waitress so I could have some time to think about what I wanted to do in my life, and I guess Colour really brought me out of that.. It felt like a huge moment for me, feeling like I wanted to sing again, because I really didn't even look at the piano for over a year. Music was fun again

Why is this song 4 hrs long?
Have you considered singing some of your oldest songs and sharing them? My favorite song of all time is Run as it both helped me through dark times and helped me understand who I was. It would be amazing to hear it again, but with your current voice and style.
Also, what have you been up to during lockdown besides music (though I bet Funny took a lot of time to produce)?
that's actually a good idea :) I might try doing some on instagram maybe... I get quite a lot of requests to sing Willow again aha, but I'll test out Run, it's been years since I sang it, and I'm so glad that you found it helpful during difficult times.
haha yes Funny did keep me occupied. Mostly I spent a lot of time walking, it was quite nice seeing the streets of London so empty. Such a rare sight.. or I've been binge watching TV.. I definitely didn't have the most glamorous or healthy lockdown, but I did have a lot of fun and Ice cream

My story:
I am asking because I remember watching your first videos as a kid and I loved you so much, and always wondered how your career will look like. My favorite songs are Take me to church and Adore. Probably one third of views on Adore is just me😂I remember replaying that song again and again. You are my favorite Jasmine. How do you go about writing a song?

I normally start humming a melody randomly while walking or something, and If I like it, then I'll bring it to the piano and it basically becomes a little jigsaw puzzle. Although, sometimes I do start with a phrase and build it from there

Looking back on you're life and growing up making music is there anything you would change? And if you could give your former self any piece of advice about something you've learned over the years what would that be?
I would like to think that I wouldn't change anything.. I'm so grateful for the past few years, if anything, I wish I spent more time learning the piano, I've definitely fallen behind on studying and it can be a bit frustrating not being able to play the piano like I used to. I'd tell myself to relax more.. I think I was a very nervous kid, and it stopped me from really embracing a lot of cool experiences

First, I wanna say that I really love your new song “funny“. Especially this version is absolutely lovely, but the acoustic and the “normal“ version as well, of course!
I've literally fallen in love with “Ain't Nobody“ in 2015, this has actually been the best “summerhit“ EVER in my opinion :)
But I really like lots of your covers & songs such as “Willow“, “Let myself try“ & “Old friends“.

1. What song and/or cover of you would be your favourite if you had to choose one?
2. A bit random, but anyways: Are you happy to be British and therefore to have a British accent? Do you try to immitate another accent in your songs or to sound “less British“? Or don't you even think about the words in terms of pronunciation? I'm asking because I really love the British accent, although many people/pupils sometimes make fun of it as it sounds - idk - quite special, I guess? 🙈😅

I think you already know what I'd say. If You know that you have the talent and the work ethic, then just go out there and keep trying. The music industry is so weird and complicated, but if you just let yourself breathe and make your music, you'll find your feet. but first you need to trust yourself a weeeeee bit more, and I know that sound like a bit of wishy washy thing to say, but yeah haha, no other way really. And thank you for supporting me for so long!!! hopefully one day I'll see you in LA!
