Everything looks beautiful! I had the same issue with a similar self watering planter. The hole was too small so I drilled a little bigger and that solved the problem
@@BACKYARDBLOOMSWITHKIM thank you! i live in central texas. feels like the "hellstrip" of usa.hot, dry, brick baked clay. no hydrangeas, peonies, etc. some pretty things will come up in spring and then quickly burn out as soon as it gets hot. so what zone are you?
I’m zone 8. I have to add drip to all my gardens and containers. Or I would be just like you. That’s how I can still get away with panicle hydrangeas. My containers are looking pretty tired right now. We have hard clay and weather has been in the high 90s
Beautiful tour thank you Kim! The west garden looks great. Lots of inspiration I have the same obelisk for my climbing roses I love the climbing potato vine such a focal point.
Yes. Not as bad. They are more manageable know. I can pick them off and put on soapy water. I did use Sevin when they were bad. Just make sure you spray late in the evening to protect bees. I don’t like to use unless I have to. I usually avoid the conversation because to many opinions .
Love…Anderson’s yard supplies. I do have cool season fescue and have to work hard in July and August to keep it green. Humi char is a life saver IMO for clay.😊
Hello Joyce. I watched Garden Answer for about 3 years before buying this house. I always loved doing containers on the porch. I fell in love with her technique and the plants that she used. I spent most of my time with full time work as a sonographer and being a hockey mom. Also billeted boys for Junior Hockey. When that was over I needed something to fill that space and my garden was it for me.
Your garden looks fantastic! I enjoy everything you have there! I would like to know what spray do you use for your ever green? Those big and beautiful ones? Thank you 😊
I spray for Spider Mites 2 a year. I fertilize everything in the spring with Plant Tone from Espoma. The big beautiful ones I believe are the Yoshio Cryptomeria. If that is what you are referring to.
I have a deer buffet open as well this year. a lot of my plants are still small so once they get some size on them I will have more blooms. I wanted to ask you where did you find Sasha’s long leash? It looks like she doesn’t mind it at all.I planted three new roses this year. My first real roses aside from the knockout roses. They are all tiny babies nothing for the deer this year. I hope mine get pretty like yours.
@@BACKYARDBLOOMSWITHKIM thanks I will look for that. Loving the gara and the little blue flowers on the east side garden. I will have to add those. I guess the deer don’t like those as much 😍
Would you show your system for spraying those arborvitae for spider mites. Since you have so many I can't imagine you use just a little bottle. Also how do you get it inside the tree. I am planning to put in arborvitae this fall so I am worried about how to deal with this.
Yes only God can do that. 😊
I thank him for the wonderful plants we have. I can only imagine how heaven would be. Love your garden as always
Kim your garden is beautiful and you can see the love you've put into it. 🌹

Beautiful garden. Love the hydrangeas.
Your fire pit area is magical;)
Your yard is beautiful. Your grass area is large enough that you could extend your plant bed to 6ft+ and plant more layers of plants.
Yes I could.
Thanks for telling me about your site in the drs office the other day. Very nice!
OMG! Absolutely beautiful!
Loving❤it!

3 tree , 12 shrubs
Really nice tour Kim, beautiful.. I like your black mulch, where did you buy it. ?
I bought this in bulk at a local outdoor landscape supply. When I buy mulch I like the Scott’s mulch

Which amendments/fertilizers do you add to the flower beds? Thanks.
Biotone when I plant. I also give a handful of compost in each hole. When I fertilize in the spring I use rose-tone, plant tone. I have a video on it

Pet Smart has them. I have 2 soft leash hooked together. I also got the thing that holds it in the ground there also. It screws into the ground

Beautiful garden. Where is the link for the fountain you like? I didn’t see it in the description box

I wonder do deer like butterfly bushes? Planted my first one this spring
That leave that alone. Serendipity alliums they don’t like either
Some of the zinnia that come up for me are hybrids of seeds that I plant the year before, does that happen with yours? Yours look true.
They look like the ones from the year before

Yes. I do use a large sprayer. And I just put my wand inside the tree
What do you use ? Spray?
Captain Jack Dead Bug
DO THE DEER EAT YOUR EMERALD GREEN ARBS?
Not yet. I see lots of posts where people say deer like them.
What's 'the struggle bus' referring to?
Not performing well. It’s just a saying I say. Not sure why.
@@BACKYARDBLOOMSWITHKIM right.

You r probably in a micro climate. That’s why u bloom later than everyone else. Your garden probably lasts longer too.
