Mr. Anthony Rahayel' What a timing ' to have discovered recently your very entertaining and nostalgic mini trip -"mishwar" videos' , with your friendly and warm and sympathic -"latif" "aziz" character ' ... They've become a nice therapy and a calming and joyful break from the repetitive heavy news of this 'Covid virus' and it's terrible consequences 'and leading to these obligatory home staying days' and socially distancing times'. . . Grateful To Lebanon' for accepting the refugee generation of my grandparents' from their forced exile by Turkey from their homelands' and by giving them the safe haven and oppurtunity to restart from zero and bloom in Lebanon' with it's mix of warm Lebanese and of then French - European culture and of course the "fawda" ... and specially Bourj Hammoud - then' the little Armenia of the Middle East - with i'ts after exile middle income Lebanese generation' with their Armenian owned businesses' churches' schools' community centers . . . Too bad the Lebanese civil war forced another exile for most of the Armenians, and also Arab Lebanese families' but that unique Lebanese seal' that warm Lebanese touch is within us wherever we've landed' . . . Keep well and safe in your little corner' ...

I was born and raised in Bourj Hammoud until I left for the United kingdom in my early youth. In 2000 I returned to Lebanon for a visit, and on my return back to London I went to Café Garo appearing on 18:34 of this video, and ordered Tisane (zhoorat in Arabic). The seller, who was a man in his early seventies (possibly Garo himself) took a readily-made cone-shaped bag and weighed about 200 grams of this floral medley for me. I took the item and when I returned back to London and opened it to my utter dismay and anger discovered that the seller had placed beforehand a number of apricot stones at the bottom of the bag in order to weigh the light merchandise more and thus give me less tisane and make more money, which was very dishonest from his part and tantamount to theft.

OMG memories, I used to live there 13 years ago... Anthony next time if you go to Bourj Hammoud, try the kebab at Mat3am Al Zouhour (مطعم الزهور) they have the tastiest and prettiest meat and kebab😋 nice video

I'm in Beirut now and am eager to tour Bourj Hammoud. Anyone have a friend who lives there to show me around?
I know this is an old post, but I'm replying because maybe someone is interested too.. Harout bakey for breakfast, super delicious .. search for it on google maps .. el hana restaurant for lunch (delicious, clean and cheap) also on google maps .. DVD Neno for super cheap dvds (big collection) 65 cent or 1000LL per dvd .. search on google maps .. make sure you have mobile internet on your phone and your phone is charged at 100% so if you get lost somewhere you can use the maps to get back to a certain place .. if you're not lebanese you need 500LL coins for the parkmeter .. put 4 of those for 2 hours .. you have to consider that you'll be forced to park your car and walk because of the parkmeter thing and no parkings are available .. remember where your car is parked so you don't start roaming the streets looking for it .. consider walking the streets of bourj hammoud mainly St Joseph, Armenia, Abb Ariss, Arax .. these are full of stores and are generally pretty safe, not to say that other streets are not but it's preferred not to get lost in small alleys that are constructed like labyrinths ..
Once you get used to the streets and have walked them many times and you're pretty comfortable with the area .. you can venture a bit into lesser known streets ..

مش عارف كيف عبتمدح عجينة زيت القلي على حساب التقليل من قيمة عجينة الزبدة و الحليب !!
