Great video. Just a helpful tip I'll share is the bottom thermostat screw. Just use a long 10mm socket and Ratchet only, this hand tool setup gives you easier access.
actual issue wasnt the thermostat... this car has a wacky setup to the heater core. there is a bypass hose. so when the heater core starts to clog it just bypasses it... so that setup makes it clogging 100000% easier. so I have a video how to pinch off the bypass and use water hose to unclog it. also the water pump was EOL. probably why the heater core clogged, less flow so bypass it is.
*I was just looking for how to change the thermostat, does the Ford Taurus still have it now? If so, I have a question if you start your car and remove one of the 2 battery cables, will the car turn off? since mine does that but I don't know if it's normal or not*
still have a thermostat? all engines do. what are you asking a ford 500 they renamed to taurus or the original 2005 area taurus. 2 totally different cars because well one is a ford 500 renamed to taurus to help with sales
The little thing you are flicking is emergency pressure release, it’s new, I just changed mine with that one and it won’t come up to temperature now. I’m going with the 3 dollar one this weekend.
My dad when alive had 2 Ford Taurus cars one after Another seemed like problems, then I get one 5 hundred bucks,my budget at time, but window washer fluid?,hood don't stay up crack in overflow top .steering hard now maybe thermostat is stuck, rust holes in door jamb and poss.ynderneath, bla bla bla list goes on,200 thousand mi.i should of known no room to work inside good luck
this one the main annoyance over the years was the constant vacuum leaks causing misfire counts. i replaced every seal everywhere all over the intake. the transmission torque spline stripping is what ended the car. common problem. the spline strips and no more transmission fluid pressure and well no more driving all neutral because the tranny cant make pressure. simple fix... but requires a lot of time to get too which I dont have so bye bye car. best part is if u asked a transmission shop to replace that spline assuming u knew about this flaw, they would insist needs tranny rebuild when it 100% does not.its just a metal bar. crooks. ah well
That actual issue was the water pump going bad which led to the heater core clogging. i made video how to properly unclog heater core which isnt normal process because just putting a hose on will just bypass the heater core and video replacing water pump. yeah i looked into it later or during video. dangling metal most likely is so it has less chance to clog that hole
Bud, you put that thermostat in backwards
i fixed it later, I think I mentioned that somewhere
