Great tutorial! My husband has one made out of leather from his days as a scout and has passed it down to our son. I wanted to have my cub scout have one and thanks to you I know how to make them. Thanks, I am going to share this with the rest of our troop.
Im Australia a Scout must have completed Part one of the Gilwell Woodbadge in order to wear the 2 pass Turkshead woggle... cubs and scouts however can a 3 pass without having earned the Woodbadge (Which is only open to Leaders and Rovers)
I recently became a cub scout leader, and I made one in our nest color ;) I would love to learn how to make one in two colors. So I can make one in our Scouts group colors.
Out of more tries than I'm willing to admit, this is the FIRST time I've been able to complete a Turk's head knot! Thanks, WoE! You've come through for me yet AGAIN!
Thank you. I’ ve watched several videos on the Turks head knot and had little success tying one until I watched your video. The explanation was excellent clear and concise. Got the knot first go with your method.
I want to thank you. I have literally watched and attempted to make a woogle or Turks head from every other video tutorial on youtube. Ive never been able to until i watched you. I did it correct the first time very easily. Imvery happy, you made my day!
This video is so helpful! I felt like crap because I couldn't figure out how to make it and my cousin really wanted one for his cub scout uniform. I'm definitely going to try and follow your instructions. Thanks!
I have watched MANY YT How-To videos. People often know their subject but they don't know video production. You used 'point-of-view', close-up, visible orange cord, good lighting, no wind or other noise, good script, no camera shake, etc, etc THANKS !
Thank you so much . My late father had done it for me in leather more than 55 years ago, I was young and a year or two later he died . It had always puzzled me how he did it . Thank you again to solve the mystery .
GREAT tutorial! The first one I made I used 2 fingers, per the instructions. this made for a pretty narrow knot. I made one starting with 3 fingers, perfect! Thanks so much!!!
That was GREAT! Thank you. I was a scout and I made lots of functional items for our troop. If I had known about this knot I'd have made twelve dozen of these.
thank you! Yours was the easiest video to follow. My son was hired to make 60 of these for his boy scout troop. The SM loved them and asked him to make them for everyone as the official slider of the troop. It paid for 1/5 of his summer camp!
Shelley Battistoni That's awesome! I'm so glad your son was able to make use of what he learned and put it to good use! Thanks for sharing that with me Shelley! :)
Thank you, I learned how to tie this knot and was able to give away woggles at my son's eagle court of honor and I am now ready to be a TG for Wood badge!
I'd like to thank you so much for this video. I'm a den leader for cub scouts and I had two new scouts to give kerchiefs to... but didn't have woggles and didn't have time to go to the scout store to get some . Well ... guess what. I took paracord from my bag and saw your video... and voila ... they worked. (I did have to redo them... not your fault.. All mine... but once I got it... I got it) Thank you so much. You made two scouts VERY happy last night! Amazing work here!
Wow.....thank you for this video, probably the easiest one to follow.....I’ve watched 5 videos and after a couple minutes, it gets too complicated...thanks again, very helpful
Wow, this video is amazingly clear and helpful! I tried a paper guide with a series of pictures and just became lost and frustrated. I tried this video and it was so simple to follow! Thank you!!
This is a great tutorial, I saw all the staff at peaceful valley summer camp wearing these as bracelets so this video helped me get started, all I had to do was add a few knots. It took me a while because this was my first one but I am going to keep practicing and maybe 5 min. That'd be pretty cool. Thanks for this video it helped me a lot and now I can sleep peacefully! :)
Drew Pearson Thanks for the comment Drew! Glad this video was able to help you out! Practice definitely makes perfect for this one. Sleep well my friend! :)
I realize this comment was 4 years ago and tbh I probably first watched this 4 years ago lol but this comment deserves some love. I'll be turning mine inside out to melt the ends together from now on.
also a great knot for hiding the ends on wire-wrapped hilts of words, which is why I came to this video in the first place. Starting a little project on a rapier and I want it to look like a professional made it.
I have actually yet to try a two color woggle, but I think you could do one pass, and then start the second pass with the second color. I'm quite sure that would work.
If the Internet was invented just for this video it would have been worth it. Wow! I never thought I'd make one of these despite trying. As someone who can barely tie his shoes I had a woggle with only 3 or 4 restarts of this video.
Thanks; all the video instructions I found involve moving the base strand at least once, which is impossible when you're finishing off the end of a wrap with a woggle. =D
Can two colors be used to make a turk's head ring. I will gut the two cords of different colors , one neon orange and the other desert camo. . I will gut the cords .That way they will fit my finger better. I have a bracelet I made that has neon orange inside with desert camo outside. I want the ring to match. I am thinking of following your tutorial and at 3: 31 is where I will cut and add on the desert camo and proceed to finish the woggle. Wish me luck ! Thank you. Your tutorials are awesome !
I absolutely loved your explanation! I’m a mexican Scout with a new channel, I was wondering if you would mind if I could recreate this tutorial but in Spanish, since the available tutorials are not that great. Thanks!
great tutorial - all your tutorials are great & easy to follow but for this one- maybe because I used a mandrel, I need one more criss cross before startingbthe 2nd pass- just seems too loose.
How do I add a second color in the woggle? I want to make a Blue and Yellow one for my Wolf Scouts. Blue and Orange for the Tigers etc. I've seen pictures of them but I can't find how to add a second color in the middle
Where is the best place to buy paracord? I would like to give my business to someone you recommend because of your free instructional videos. Thank you.
I don't normally comment on videos but man you did a fantastic how to! I'm definitely going to make some of these with the scouts in my charge. You don't happen to have a how to with two colors do you? (three layers with the secondary color in between the primary) Thanks again!
+Paolo Feliciano Hey Paolo, thanks for the kind words. I haven't tried doing a two colour version, but I'll most likely make a tutorial for something like that in the future.

I learnt this 4 scouts too
I'm a scout and wanted to learn this for soooo long
This is so relatable😂
I recently became a cub scout leader, and I made one in our nest color ;) I would love to learn how to make one in two colors. So I can make one in our Scouts group colors.
I'm a Scout and we were told to learn how to do one and this was really helpful!

"pengakap" and now I am "pengakap Raja"

revisiting some older tutorials and thought I'd try this one Tim. As usual, an excellent job, got a halfway decent knot the first try. Thanks......
Thank you. I’ ve watched several videos on the Turks head knot and had little success tying one until I watched your video. The explanation was excellent clear and concise. Got the knot first go with your method.
Been trying to make a woggle for about 2yrs followed your video and managed to make 1 first time, amazing

This is the clearest explanation of how to start the knot I have seen. Well done 👏
Awesome demo! For some reason, the Turk's Head has always eluded me, until I saw this. Thanks!
Great video! I am the Scoutmaster for my troop and I refer to this video every year when making woggles for our new crossover scouts!
one of the best instructions I've seen.

I finally made my 1st one as well. Thank you for an easy tutorial.
,look in Turkish Forum
It is a fun one to tie
An easy way to hide the melted end is turn the woggle inside out. It's amazingly symmetrical.
I realize this comment was 4 years ago and tbh I probably first watched this 4 years ago lol but this comment deserves some love. I'll be turning mine inside out to melt the ends together from now on.

Omg so cool!!!
Thanks. Been trying to figure this knot thru books..Fail..comes out weird. Thanks again for visual..
Does it have to be made of paracord? Will it work with just regular string
Thanks Tim great Tutorial dude!
Tim, if i want to add 3 line weave...i need to add more length of the cord. Is that right or you have another way?
Yes, if you want to make a third pass, you have to add a bit more cord.
@@TheWeaversofEternity Thanks a lot 😎👍
I absolutely loved your explanation! I’m a mexican Scout with a new channel, I was wondering if you would mind if I could recreate this tutorial but in Spanish, since the available tutorials are not that great. Thanks!

Excellent tutorial! Thanx!!!
Can you do a diamond knot like that 1 that I've seen on Amazon with the bottles so the slider knot that I have
