I was born and raised in grand coulee. Spent my child hood summers fishing in lake Roosevelt and banks lake. I still live in Eastern washington about an hour south from grand coulee. I was born here and lived here my whole life and i wouldnt live anywhere else.
back in the 1970's our family used to drive our car over the top of the grand coulee dam (back when the public was allowed to do that). a few times when my mom was not with us and no other cars were around, my dad would stop the car, grab me by the back of the pants and hang me over the railing so that most of my body was suspended in air over the front of the dam. i was about 4 years old. today i prefer to live alone. i rarely have contact with other human beings
I like the way 2 tribes depended upon the Salmon from the Columbia but the army corps of engineers & the US reclamation agency simply blew them off. Very considerate aholes. !
Spokane native here, now living on the east coast. Took the tour of the dam and hung out there more times than I can count. Truly breathtaking!!!
Nice walk down history lane. NJ loved the gentleman telling the story.

I was at that dam in August 1990 and saw the laser light show myself.
