This is so cool. I want to weld one up with my everlast. This could come in really handy.
8 ปีที่แล้ว
Thanks. Btw. What do you think about Everlast? I don't know the brand very well, but i have been interested about their Power I-Tig 200 model. Its really attempting.
What would be a nice size HP motor for a table top mill?
8 ปีที่แล้ว
I have tought that something like 300w would be enough. Torque and good bearings are more important, specially when milling metal. I need to think more this subject, it would be very nice project.
Very professionally made tool you made there. I might try something like that myself but I think I will use my everlast and weld up some of the pieces.
Take me to Home Depot with no budget and this guy for advice and I'd be a 23 year old with the workshop/tools of a seasoned experienced man. 😎 All I know is a lathe is my next addition of tools. Right after a engine lift (cherry picker)
what you have created and the way you created it, is unbelievably awesome!! I was up on the roof patching leaks today. If not for my tired self, I would start on a project right now! This totally inspired me!

Thank you. That kind of comment is very inspiring to me! ☺
Well done, but I wonder at what point that Dremel tool will be asked to spin way more load than it was ever designed to do, shortening its life. Also, the Dremel tool's chuck bearing is probably not designed for so much side loading as you would get in a lathe application.
You're pretty handy with that angle grinder. Cutting straight freehand, I imagine this wasn't the first time you used one!
7 ปีที่แล้ว
Thanks. Yep, i have used angle grinder a lot. I work usually with stainless materials, and angle grinder is the fastest way to make small cuts to fit parts on their right place. So, i use it daily at my work.
Awesome job man,and you lo0ked like a pure natural, what ever keeps the mind busy hope dremel see this & you end their boss haha now that would be more fun.
If you ever change your mind, and decide to sell drawings, I would gladly purchase a set. In the meantime, the design is still simple enough to lend itself well to improvising. Well done, sir!
Outstanding work, man. I'm learning a lot from your videos. You should write a book with all of your projects. I think it would do well. :) Keep up the good work!

cloudstepper11 Thanks. Maybe after some builds more. Im still learning...
Awaome! You are a true craftsman and an artist in working metal. I have a Dremel moto-lathe for my model work, that I bought years ago. I do a lot of turning of cast urethane for my model parts. The 'Fast-Cast' cuts very smooth on a lathe. Very inspiring videio you have made here! Thanks, \\][//
This is a great and simple design! Would be nice if you just bolt the lathe to the benchtop. I know pulley wheel/belt system will make it complicated. But that might give you more torque, isn't it?
excelente trabajo Toumas, gracias por transmitirnos tus conocimientos sin interés alguno Un saludo cordial desde Puerto Píritu Estado Anzoátegui-Venezuela
Its wonderfull others doing thing we also have in mind to do. My problem is to build (weld) this struture trully perpendicular and paralel through out it self... Thank you for this video!! It will be usefull someday!
that is some great tool mate. it is funny since the base and elements are so much stronger than that little dremel :D. but, on the other hand, that is a good thing to there never will be stress on the components. great thinking of ya! friendly greetings, Jörgen

Thanks mate. I made it sturdier because i wanted to leave possibility to use it with a drill or bigger rotary tool.
It's the way you used a power drill to drill a few holes... I thought it was rather amusing to comment, but nevermind haha

Yeah. Sorry if my answer was in little rude form. I have asberger syndrome..that makes my social skills little weaker than others. Most things are just yes or no to me, and usually im the one who doesn't get the jokes. 😊 My toughts go straight line most of the time, so my answers are usually that in that form too. Thanks a lot for watching my video, i never tought that so many people would be interested.
My best friend as a child had the same as you, and yeah man, a standard Lathe is anywhere from 400+ to the larger scale Lathes are upwards of a 1000

Moggy1000 Yep. I know.. this was kind of experiment. I planned to make a bigger one, wanted to make a prototype first. Im building that "life sized " atm.. but its hard to design sturdy, but light weighted machine, wich is going to be ten times bigger than this. But.. So far i have been satisfied to my "Dremelathe" i have used it for making lures and stuff like that.. Maybe i get my bigger model finished someday too. 😊
Proper engineering right there. Excellent video. The speeded up cutting of the acrylic sheet made me concerned for your fingers. I suppose you could always turn out some nice new ones in wood. Part genius part pinocchio. As was said before inspirational. Cheers
8 ปีที่แล้ว
Thanks. 😊 It looks little dangerous when speeded, but i use very slow speed with that jigsaw. So, it might make a cut, but not really serious injury.. I would need to mess up really badly to get real damage to my fingers with it.
This is an awesome video! I think videos like this are the best, it just goes to show that you don't need a fancy shop to make something amazing! I subscribed to you. I have a TH-cam channel too where I make just about anything that comes to mind

Thanks Dylan. You have a great channel. I subbed, and will watch all your videos soon. Those one's i watched we're just great!
Very Clever versatile machine and very well designed and built. I can see you shopping for some screwdrivers in the near future to modify as mini lathe tools ;0

Thank you. That's possible. ☺ I also tought that i could try to forge some.

Absolutely incredible. You’re a true craftsman. Thank you!
Far more superior than readymade ones.... Great design...
Thanks! I have one more add still coming to it. ☺
This has got to be one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen in DIY! If not THE coolest! You can do so much with one of these!
Very awesome project. I was impressed by your incorporation of the belt sander into it
Thanks! This was my original idea with the belt sander, but i tought that i could make separate project from it first.
Your tig welds and straight-cuts with the angle grinder are beautiful!
Nick M Thanks! I have used them a long time now. Everything comes easier with practising.
Fantastic job. This should get some kind of prize from Dremel. I like your homemade jig saw table as well. I am in process on one now.
Sysiphistication Thank you. Actually i have got a little gift from a dremel, wich was a great surprise me. I hope they get some ideas from this.
Keep at it my friend and they will be getting them from you. How about a little mini-mill?
Mill would be usefull.. but i have been thinking that it should be with bigger motor, so it could be used for metals too.
What would be a nice size HP motor for a table top mill?
I have tought that something like 300w would be enough. Torque and good bearings are more important, specially when milling metal. I need to think more this subject, it would be very nice project.
Handheld grinder accuracy... shockingly good!
Wow! Nice building of the finished lathe...!
Pauli S Thank you!
Very professionally made tool you made there. I might try something like that myself but I think I will use my everlast and weld up some of the pieces.
thanks for not using load and annoying music, seriously man. Thank you.
I must say, you do some beautiful welding, and a very nice little setup..
Thanks buddy!
It is, I've seen others but I'd like to get my hands on something like that setup, I'm shocked Dremel hasn't come out with anything!
I wish I had the tools, space and know how to make one of these. You did a fantastic job, I would pay good money for one of these :D
Very well done, a lot of detail in your work, thanks for sharing

Realy amazing (Y) Dremel station from dremel station :D
with thicker parts and support you may get less noise, geat project!
I would make some sort of rails under the base so the brackets can lay on them and you can bolt the thing to the table.
Excellent 👌
