they are hard to keep clean and i know cause my dad is a hay truck driver and he was getting in the truck with dirt or mud with hay with the mud and every time I went there and he brought the truck home I love to keep it clean I wash it by myself I clean the interior
TylerNuske Scooters Nuske. Im lucky don't have to wash the outside have a great truck washer at work. Just have to clean the inside hard enough for me. Have a great day
Lived in Adelaide for a short time eighteen years ago. Nothing much has changed. I love seeing those roads again. Beautiful looking Kenny, Rod. Longer vids mate ;-)
Adelaide is a great city would live there, but don't like the long continuous days of hot weather in the summer. Their are some new roads on the west side of town and improvements on South Road. Will try the longer videos.
Cross Rd and Portrush Rd intersection at the bottom of Adelaide Hills, the cook and I (at a very young age) u sed to sit at night and watch the trucks come down off the hills and try and stop at the traffic lights you could see the brake drums glowing red sometimes the rims too. The was well before I got involved in the truck industry. Take Care ...Gtta love hills ah.
How did we survive in those old trucks. You would remember the Picton rail bridge with the dog leg. The gouges out of the brick work, roll over every second night. Lived there as a kid. Went to the school on the right as you went north down the hill.
Hi. It can depend on weight and the truck you drive. For me with personally, with an MC and the auto K200 I'm driving now be light 42 to 50t I select 11th or 12th in manual mode, if in 11th easy enough to go up 1 gear in an auto, or in 12th sometimes just put on the engine fan to slow it down just enough. In manual between 5 and 6 changing half gears if needed. Harder to do no a manual. I can depend on the truck and engine. Some euro trucks have better engine brakes, other can set the overspend. Does not to long to get to know the truck, better to go a lower gear and be safe, then next time you will know if it is too high of to low. Have been told that the gear you go up the hill at Murray Bridge is the one you put it in to go down? Not sure if this is true.
Hello, Rod, you go through all those not bad traffic, but I assumed you already had so many calls from the yard NOW WHAT'S ur ETA to the yard.....while u too busy to entertain ur channel.........hahaha..sweet that bro.....being that place thousands times.....MY ADVISED DON'T WORRY about the warning of jackerbrake.u better be safe rather than sorry, Adelaide hills is six km cruise town I normally drop down 8 or 7 gear n coast down between 50km n 60km only I firmly touch my trailer brakes once or twice. Look like u got D16 DETROIT or Cummins 600hp..... look like owner operator.😎😎😎😎👽.all the best.
Hey Rod, Do you have a assigned truck ? Or your destination determines what you drive ? Enjoy your videos and the scenery. I guess you need to know where your going with that long truck trailers. Thx..
do you know what you should do I was going to put this up on the other video but I don't think you would check it but you should get cream leather interior
Hi: That would look good, Kenworth does have a light beige interior, one of the other trucks has this. Kenworth's get very dusty would be hard to keep clean.
i know but it would be nice to see you driving a little more :) i recently found your channel and dam i love it do you do Melbourne to Adelaide and mel-Sydney ?
taominatr. Hi I work for Thorpes Transport. If you look on the internet there is a lot of thier older custom trucks. They are a bit tamer now, because most companies want white trucks.
you working for a side company that has contracts with the likes of startrack, TNT, DHL, etc? or does the company you work for just work for the one company? (startrack, im guessing by the trailers I saw you hook up too a few videos ago)
Hi. The company is a contractor, I mainly do Border Express but they also do Mainfreight, Air Road, Blue Star. I did Startrack at my last job working for Linfox.
Hi David. If you are referring to going down the hill, Yes you are right. Unfortunately, the driver in front was braking, trying to stay off the brakes as much as I could until I had the opportunity to go around. You have to make decisions at the time. I will come up closer behind a slower vehicle when I'm overtaking, as you would know if you do it too far back other drivers will come up the left to try and get passed. I will do a video on the way I drive and why at times I break to road rules.
Hi. Sorry for taking so long to get back to you. The hardest part is getting that first job. Look out for jobs that offer training and they pay for your licence. Waste and earth moving companies offer this sometimes. If you get you rown HR licence. Ask family and friends if they know any company that might be will to train a new driver. Or a labouring job that have trucks. E.g.. event hire, removalis or a transport company as a loader, strapped etc. They may be will to do training on the trucks as part of the job. Like any job it's hard to start without experiences and no one will give you training.
Trucker Daddy. You have to select the right gear at the top of the hill. The truck in front only touch the brakes for a few seconds not riding the brakes at 40 kph. But as with all down grades this can cost you money with a fine.
Australian Trucker Rod Not here in Canada!! Of course I'm going to be mindful of overheating my brakes. But brake lights are a safety feature. If I have to brake I have to brake. I'm totally surprised. I live in the province of Quebec where municipalities tried to pass anti engine brake bylaws. Despite the noise older trucks can make, these laws became 'suggestîons' because engine brakes are considered safety features.
spotted your truck thurs morning 26/7 in that same spot b.p bolivar, very tidy. just came across your videos today
Hi Anthony, Yes that was me, don't go to Adelaide often, park there if I run the cooler, try not to bother anyone.

Hey Buddy: Yes have an assigned truck. Truck with trailers is 85 feet easy when you have been driving for some time. Have a good day.
do you know what you should do I was going to put this up on the other video but I don't think you would check it but you should get cream leather interior

Adrian A. Unless I miss a gear which is most of the time.lol
What advice can you offer for someone considering getting into truck driving?
Hi. Sorry for taking so long to get back to you.
The hardest part is getting that first job.
