for some reason i thought this was going to provide a home-manager module that just sets all the colors for you on every possible tool. So that all you have to do in your own config file is enable, e.g. alacritty and expect it to already be colored.
Wow, misterio btw have some nice repos regarding nixos configuration. Was a huge insparation and help for me in the beginning. Nicw to see his repo with nixcolors appear here.
This video was really helpful for understanding how to configure Nix colors to match your rice and desktop theme for a consistent and comfortable visual experience. The guide was clear and easy to follow, and the explanations given for each step made it easy to understand what was happening and why. This video is a great resource for anyone looking to adjust the colors in their Nix environment for a more cohesive and cohesive look. Nice work!
Are you planning to do some more complex videos about nix configuration in the feature? I mean, running services, changing fs, hard drive encryption, etc. via nix
Hey vimjoyer, very excited to implement this in my setup! I have a question about adding this to config files that are separately created. Currently I'm looking to add my colors to starship, I have a .toml file with my starship.nix and I copy it to .config via home.file.".config/starship.toml".source = ./starship.toml. How would I go about substituting the values in this toml file?
I guess you'll have to make your starship.toml file a Nix file and use home.file.".config/starship.toml".text. Alternatively, you could use the readFile function to concatenate your TOML file and a string with interpolated color values.
Hope you enjoy this one, it has some more video editing than usual

You can be the one to create such module)
The directory structure is an amazing new feature! Thanks again for high quality videos!

Yeah, he contributed a LOT to nix community. I learned from his configs too
Hey folks! Thanks for the kind words
Thank you very much. I was thinking about ways to do the consistent color theming across applications with Nix and now I have a way!

😅 one more request... please do a video on how to configure neovim with nix...
my old config throwing errors as lanuguages are not installed globally
This is one of the most requested topics, so sure
@@vimjoyer great
nicee man
Thank you!
Can you also use nix Colors with pywall?
You can integrate nix colors into anything. Use
home.file."dir1/dir2/file".text = '' ''
and just interpolate colors into files
How do you know which color to use?
check base16 schemas or just experiment
Is there any chance you can share your dots? )

@vimjoyer thanks a ton! I should've been more specific tho. I wanted to see your hyprland and waybar config which I couldn't spot in the repo
