Thank you *so* much for the guide to creating an app package for the hololens. As you said, most tutorials/guides talk about deploying directly, and that's not what we need. We need something we can send others so they can install it themselves.
When i deploy to hololens2 it opens the application in an UWP applikation not as an AR application. What am i missing? i am using unity 2020.3.X at the moment.
Hi, in this tutorial we are using Unity 2020.3.13f1 and the MRTK 2.7.3. Generally, you can use one of the long-term support versions of Unity which currently are Unity 2020.3.x and Unity 2021.3.x. They are both compatible with the MRTK. Most of the MRTK 2.x releases should be suitable for HL2 development but I would recommend using one of the latest versions that is available (currently 2.8.0) as they contain the most features and their releases are usually quite stable.
@@acisgrouprwthaachenunivers3096 Thanks for your reply. For someone who has started learning Unity and now would like to develop for Hololens (maybe also for Oculus) which one is recommended to use: MRTK or XRTK or OpenXR?

Thanks for an excellent tutorial! Unfortunately I'm missing the build window from Mixed Reality toolkit in Unity. Any idea what I'm missing? Cheers

Thank you for this tutorial. How can I create the device portal using USB conecction?
Under „Settings“ -> „Update and Security“ -> „For Developers” should be an Ethernet address. that's the one for the device portal via USB
