- Here I explain the meaning of Jesus' parable of the new wine in old wineskins found in Luke 5: 37-39 and Mark 2:18-22. Jesus also uses the example of using a new cloth patch on an old garment to make his point.
The parables of Jesus are to help us gain knowledge about God's wisdom. Their meaning can at times be difficult to grasp. This parable goes by several names. The parable of the new wine. The parable of the new wine in new wineskins, or old wineskins. The parable of the new cloth. Despite all the different names, we take a look at the meaning behind the and what Jesus was explaining to the pharisees who were questioning Him and the actions of his disciples.
AMEN my brother keep it up AMEN!!!
Thanks for this message.
Some people are going around and perverting the wineskin parable to scare us into thinking we will suffer forever in hell. They take this parable completely out of context and turn it into something horrific, making God out to be eternally sadistic. Seeing such a video show up in my recommendations today made me search out "Wineskin Parable" since I really don't quite understand its meaning, and don't want it to mean what these people are twisting it into.
Thank you I was super confused reading this passage but you made it a lot clearer. Thanks!
You gave me good insight on this parable. Thank you my brother, God bless you.
That is the common way of explaining this parable, but pastor I don't see Jesus trying to get rid of the old wineskins and wine on the contrary I see Jesus trying to preserve both new and old wineskins and wine by keeping them separated so He is giving value to both old and new. And why Luke go out of his way on verse 39 and said, no one having drunk old wine desires new, for he says, 'The old is better " would there be a different interpretation for this parable? Have a blessed day.
God bless ❤

The new wine and wineskin is Jesus in the new testament while the old wine and old wineskin is the old testament. Now we are the believer of Christ in the new testament salvation is Jesus and not from the old testament, old testament is for the Jewish in there times not today
Amen.
