Same here but no hot cocoa! Tho I have been in bed on heat for weeks 😥 Jen just calms and relaxes me and cheers me up, did I say "just?" She is the best! Feel better.
Praying for you girly. Amazon has an electric heating pad too that’s portable. I carry it with me when I go to work during that time of the month or whenever I get pain in general… it’s really nice and it’s like a belt attachment
Really enjoying the advent calendar vlog of your videos. That's such a smart idea I've never seen anyone do. On top of that you don't have to spend more on products or expensive advent calendars that miss the mark 9 times out of 10.
You and Emily both picked the Revlon Illuminance and I agree with you both. It feels very high end and expensive. I prefer it to a lot of high end formulas that I've tried.
Thanks for the great recommendations. I am over 50 with dry skin, so I always value your opinions. I also love how you involved your son in your "shop my stash" Advent calendar. Very creative.
I bought the Simply Ageless powder after seeing it in a video of yours. It's fantastic! I have oily skin, and I get a full work day's wear out of it. It makes my pores look smaller and looks natural.
I'm 59, still have oily skin and breakouts with the bonus of wrinkles lol. Even though my skin type is opposite Jen's I ❤ her and the content and I can usually tell what will work on my skin based on her reviews. Thanks Jen
Loreal True Match Super Blendable has been my fave this year! Satin , serum-like , light medium finish and alcohol free which is perfect for everyday . My 57yo combo oily tan skin loves it! Loreal Infallible is nice too but contains alcohol. I may try Fenty as I like the eaze drop skin tint.
I think I use almost all of your drugstore choices. 😂 I would throw it out there that the Maybelline concealer with the poufy tip is great for mature undereyes as well. I really hope that Maybelline will repackage it soon. I also love the Loreal True Match foundation, the Milani powder bronzer and NYX Sweet Cheeks blushes. Elf and nyx reign for brows, and Nyx for lip liners. I use Elf or Naturium lip balms. I have very few high end and what I have, i don't usually reach for except ND mini palettes
Happy Vlogmas everybody! I love your foundation Jen. It is so skin like. I've enjoyed the first part of your series on complexion. It's very helpful to me having dry skin also. The primer that you like help me too. I want my makeup to look nice and not cakey. Thank you Jen for a wonderful video and I intend to check out the products I don't have. I caught a great sale on Laura Geller on QVC awhile back and have some great products from her. I love them. I hope everyone in the Jen community has a wonderful holiday.💗💕🙏🎅🤶🌲💐
Jen, i was influenced by you to try the Covergirl Simply Ageless powder and i am so glad I did! I ended up buying two colors. The coverage rivals sny powder foundation. The feel of this powder is so unique - it's almost moisturizing. Thanks for the recommendation!
If you are looking to try a different setting spray, consider LYS. I thoroughly enjoy it on my drier, dehydrated skin. No scent and a beautiful sprayer.
I like the Laira Geller foundation and I got the medium shade which was too dark for me so I like to use it as a light bronzer, I also have the fair and porcelain shades. Great stuff!
I love the Tarte Timeless Primer! I don’t use primer, really, except I put just a minuscule amount of this on the larger pores on my cheeks under my eyes. It lasts forever, too.
Hey Jen, I watched your videos on a regular basis in the last year, I am surprised you didn't mention the Elf Soft Glam Foundation. It is such a good one!
The Laura Geller powder in porcelain is perfect for my 55yo normal to dry skin. I use it to add extra coverage on my wind and sun damaged neck, which is red compared to the rest of my face. Riding motorcycle for years when I was young damaged my neck skin, my helmet at least protected my face. The Milani setting spray is awesome, and I order the large bottle online.
I love the Laura Geller Baked Balance and Brighten powder foundation. I've been using it as my only foundation for a few years now. I use the shade Fair too. LG is often on sale, I don't think I've ever paid full price for it. I love her blushes as well. I also like the Bubble tinted sunscreen. I bought it after your earlier video. I much prefer it over the DRMTLGY tinted sunscreen that everyone raves about and is much more expensive.
Enjoyed the video, glad I found your channel. You always mention products that are new to me, very informative. I’ll be trying out the tarte primer for sure, thank you!
I’ll have to try the neutrogena skin tint. I’m in love with my fenty shade 150. Same with my missha 21 and 23. I never realized I had a grayish tint until you tried on the missha and I was like…wow, that is what I need. It was eye opening.
Thank you yet again Jen. I love Laura Geller, her baked foundation, blushes and eye shadows are so great and all her other products are too. Wait a moment and she will have a sale! I think she may have invented primer called Spackle.
I'll always be a full coverage woman, and Absolutely LOVE Profusion Feel Good Skin foundation in the flat tube. It doesn't take much to get the look I want, and looks better the longer I wear it. Also LOVE the original IT Cosmetics CC cream, and still use it regularly. It's just amazing to me. 😅 Also the peach corrector from Pixi literally deletes my dark circles😅 I wear that Nutrogena Hydroboost skin tint as a primer sometimes too, and you're right, it really does look better the longer you wear it too. Another primer I LOVE is Maybelline Baby Skin. That stuff is Incredible!! Talk about pore smoothing...I even put it on my decolletage when wearing open neck tops, and it deletes my wrinkles too 😅😅😅 I used to use Benefit Porefessional, but the Maybelline is BETTER, and much more affordable. 🎉🥂💃💖
I can "second" the recommendation of Revlon Illuminance foundation. It feels really nice going on and i like the finish. Many TH-camrs (including Theresa is Dead) rave about it. I first heard about it from Theresa and am glad I picked it up.
The LISA ELDRIDGE SKIN TINT is the Best ever!!!! Smoothing plumping hydrating all day just perfection my skin perfected 🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍 even better with the Natasha Denona powder foundation lightly on top pores gone it’s also magical
I really hope that the Covergirl powder doesn’t get discontinued. I’ve just used up my 4th one! I love this product. Maybe they are changing the packaging?? 🤞🏼
So many things I love, too! If I wear primer, I have the Tarte smoothing primer, and I love the regular Milani setting spray in the winter and the matte setting spray in the summer. Even with my combo oily skin, I like the Revlon illuminance as well. So. Many. Good. Things!
Hi! I'm finally early! ❤ Love you! 😊 I love your shop my stash advent with your son, that's so sweet, my kids would love to touch all of my things 😂 ❤😊
Jen if you like the L’Oréal smoothing primer you might like the Clarins instant smooth! It’s very similar, comes in a pot, and light pink. The L’Oréal one is a tiny bit grainy looking in comparison but they are almost identical and the Clarins smooths fine lines. I use it under my eyes too , definitely worth swatching next time you go to ULTA!
Love your picks! I already use many of them, so I'm a bit biased ;) I finally tried the CoverGirl Anti-Wrinkle Powder this year and I will be heartbroken if they discontinue it -- I like it even better than the Laura Geller. While I like the Hy-Glam Concealer a lot, I maintain that the Catrice is 95% as good for 25% of the price, so I'll be going back to that once I use up the Natasha Denona. Can't wait to see the rest of your 2024 favorites!
My mom isn’t a big makeup person but she was asking my advice on an easy foundation I thought would work for her. I suggested Laura Geller’s powder foundation and gave her mine to try out before she committed. She loved it and ended up buying one for herself!
Absolutely love your channel all year ‘round but Vlogmas is a fun bonus✨maybe as a wrap up you could create a full face of all the advent choices (as much as possible ~ maybe with year round favorites to fill in the gap of products). Looking forward to enjoying your channel for yet another year in 2025👍💃🏻Merry Christmas🎄🌟
Laura Gellars Balance & Brighten is great on my dry 63 yr old face. I’ve noticed it takes about an hour for it to settle in (not in a bad way) and it just gets better looking as the day goes on. It also works if I have a liquid foundation not really wow’ing me by putting a light brushing of this over it. Great product!
I got my mom the Bubble SPF after watching you review it. She absolutely loves it and has even repurchased it too (which is big for her because she never uses the same thing twice)! Thank you for your great recommendations!
I’m watching this video as I apply some makeup for the day and I literally put on the neutrogena skin tint and then you started talking about it!! Lol!! I have acne prone oily skin but I also struggle with dry patches especially in winter. I love this product. I do set it with powder because of my oil and it keeps my skin looking and feeling amazing all day
The Fenty and the One Size are two of my favorites from this year and I have combo skin. I’m traveling now with the Fenty. The One Size has thickened up and is hard to get out of the pump - fine for home, but too much to fuss with on the go! And I do love the Revlon Illuminance too. The One Size Setting Spray really does lock in your makeup, but it is an aerosol so you have to be careful when spraying it on your face (not to overdo it or to inhale it).
Have you every used the Covergirl + Olay Simply Ageless foundation? Have oily but thirty skin (if that makes sense) and I just got this from Ulta and LOVE IT! It’s just under $20 and I think it’s my new favorite foundation - other than the packaging. It’s hard to open.
JEN!!! My Nurse Practitioner for gyno put me on Estradiol patches starting at 0.050% and it stopped my hot flashes. I am so glad my colleague told me about them because I had never heard of them to even ask and my doctor didn’t suggest them even tho I had mentioned hot flashes. So easy to just stick them on my butt cheek twice a week. I feel so much better and no more brain fog and hot flashes. I have an IUD, so I don’t have to take progesterone, but I believe that it is usually prescribed together. Just a thought.
I have been meaning to ask you about foundation cause I have all but given up on it. I have been using the Catrice Soft Glam Filter Fluid with an under eye corrector as my base. My skin is dry/normal and I don’t like being able to tell I have makeup on 😅
Hi Jen, thanks for the video! I'm currently using the Revlon Illuminance foundation, mostly because of your favorable review, and am very pleased with how it looks on my very dry, sensitive skin! I'm not going to pick over every product you named, but I do want to note that of the 3 concealers you like, only the Skin Awaken is fragrance free. And fragrance is particularly problematic in products used close to the eye. Also, guess what, the ingredients list for the Tarte Timeless Smoothing Primer includes fragrance. You may not be smelling it, but there's still fragrance in the product. The Milani Conceal & Perfect Pore Blurring Primer also has several fragrant ingredients: rosa damacena flower extract, jasminum oficinale flower extract, and methyl diisopropyl propionamide. And possibly others I didn't find. I'm not sure what my point is here - possibly that a lot of products have added fragrance or fragrant ingredients. If you have sensitive skin, it cuts way down on what you can buy.
Just what I needed! A TRUE list of your faves! I am not surprised that I have quite a few! I am going to try the Milani pore primer… if that doesn’t work, I will get Tarte. Definitely need it… getting older and I am not happy with all the primers I have bought… too sticky. Thank you so much for your other recommendations ; even though I have bought so many and continue to enjoy them💕💕💕
I’d also recommend Laura Geller Spackle primer if you have skin that’s starting to be “mature.” I absolutely love them & realized recently that they are twice as big as most primers, and they go on 50% off fairly regularly. I ended up getting them for $9/ounce, which is below most drugstore brands. I tried the line years ago, it really is formulated for older skin, I didn’t see anything special in my 30s but now WOW they are fantastic! I like to combine the blurring one with elf liquid poreless, but I tend to conserve the elf, it’s a bit more expensive 😂
I recently discovered the covergirl×olay products and love them so much. I'm also having a hard time and realizing that the line seems to be getting smaller across retailers. I hope it isn't being discontinued, they're such great products. The foundation cream leaves my skin super smoothe. 😢
Love your Vlogmas. I look forward to it this time of year. Your son has grown up so much. Thank you for sharing your honest recommendations and thoughts with us. I always value your opinions. Wishing you and your family a Merry Christmas and an amazing 2025❤
Hey Jen, I just finished watching the Emily Awards for lips! Also I just got 3 of the UD moondust shadows, and Lithium was one of them. Your makeup and hair are beautiful, I really feel your looking younger each year. Maybe it’s Rose Marie Swifts bronzer/blush tips I dunno! I’m really getting into one and done eyeshadow, I bought a butt load this holiday along with lips and tons of the RMS line in general. I got almost every eye light shade, both types of bronzers and several blush colors and lip serum sticks. Oh and the living luminizer. Also I mean to tell you this every Vlogmas. Your openings look so amazing, your neighborhood, the drive, the birds, your son walking down the stairs, the advent calendar, the traditional Christmas tree. It looks like a story book. Happy Holidays Jen!
It’s reassuring to hear your good reviews of some products I’m already using and loving. Except for the Dior Backstage foundation my other makeup is all drugstore priced. I really appreciate that you give less expensive but great products their well earned accolades. I’m in my late 70s with skin getting dryer every year. I use the Catrice concealer almost exclusively & never have to set it with powder. I also have the Revlon Illuminance foundation but I’d call it a satin or soft matte finish on my skin. I have the Moira loose powder but may try the pressed. The loose powder is so fine it doesn’t want to stay on the brush until it gets to my face. The only product you liked that didn’t seem to jive with my experience was the Milani primer. On initial application it felt stinging rather than cooling. I can’t say how it works as a primer because I was afraid to wear it for any amount of time. My skin may have been more sensitive at that time for whatever reason so I’ll try it again & see if I still get stinging. Happy Holidays to you and your family.
Sometimes menthol can sting (I think that's what gives it the cooling effect). Especially if your skin was dry or irritated, that might cause it to sting.
Hi Jen. I've been using the Believe Beauty Skin Finish Foundation for a few years, and I absolutely love the coverage, and feel, of this foundation. Have you ever come across any Drug Store foundations that have a similar feel, and coverage, to the Believe Beauty Foundation? It would really help me a lot. You, and your family, have a Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year! 🎄🎉
Oh I loved this & was so glued to the screen. Towards the end I was getting sad that you weren't including spfs but you did!! I was in the big city for a week & got to try the new milani blurring primer & bubbles tinted spf & love both!! I also got going coconuts❤! You are just so good. Thank you for being here !
I had the same shade in the illuminance. It was a smidge too ight, but i loved it. I went through it so fast. I tried 3 Revlon products at once. The lipliner and lipstick for mature skin. I think it was a filling formula. They went on very thickly and broke because of the hot and humid environment in Australia, so I wouldn't recommend them for a humid location, but the foundation was wonderful. At present, it's its summer in Australia and with menopause I can not get even coverage of complexion products with my hot flashes. I literally look like a weeping jesus statue under my eyes, and my hairline, you would swear I've got a mini sprinkler system around there. Foundations wont grip. 😂 what I found does work well for me is the Missha BB Cream. It manages to blur the transition between where my skin refuses to allow make up to grip and where it does sit. I have shade 23 for my best match, and I blend 2 others if 23 isn't in stock. I would prefer more coverage, but it goes from initially looking like I've applied too much to a really nice finish quickly.
I never hear anyone talk about this but I use the milk makeup matte setting spray in the black bottle. It’s incredible! Only issue is that the spray nozzle gets clogged almost immediately and I run it under hot water before and after using it and it doesn’t seem to prevent it or help once it gets clogged. It’s so infuriating because it’s impossible to prevent and fix once it happens, which is so sad because the setting spray is holy grail!
Ooh! Just in time! I’m done for the day. Pain has me laying on the heating pad. I’ll probably make a cup of hot chocolate later when I can move and not feel so stiff. Nothing like a friend and a good beauty convo to keep me company ❤
Aw I'm sorry you're in pain. I hope it gets better soon. 🙏🩷
Praying you get to feeling better🙏🏻❤️🎄
Same here but no hot cocoa! Tho I have been in bed on heat for weeks 😥 Jen just calms and relaxes me and cheers me up, did I say "just?" She is the best! Feel better.
Praying for you girly. Amazon has an electric heating pad too that’s portable. I carry it with me when I go to work during that time of the month or whenever I get pain in general… it’s really nice and it’s like a belt attachment
Jen is one of the best companion when I’m in a lot of pain 💜
Thank you for not just mentioning new products but old tried and true ones!❤. I too love the Neutrogena skin tint!!!
I like it as well. Neutrogena has nice cosmetics!!! I love their lip oil more than the Dior one.
Revlon colorstay is also fantastic (but more coverage)
My Walmart has marked down every single one of the shades of the Revlon foundation. Is it being discontinued?!!??
@kelbel1179 oh no I hope not! Makes me want to stock up. Hate so much that makeup expires 😔
@@kelbel1179 yeah I saw that yesterday & picked some up. It’s so good.
@@kelbel1179. I noticed this at Walgreens too
Thanks for the great recommendations. I am over 50 with dry skin, so I always value your opinions. I also love how you involved your son in your "shop my stash" Advent calendar. Very creative.
Your smokey eyeshadow looks sooo sparkley and beautiful, wow!
Your hair and makeup look extra beautiful today!
Jen! Your son keeps picking winners! Would you consider doing a video comparing high end/luxury skin tint formulas? Great video today as always! 😘
I just bought the Bubble tinted mineral sunscreen, and I'm loving it! Thanks!
Me too just love it
Wish it worked for me but it leans too orange on my complexion 😒
I’m waiting for mine to arrive.
Obsessed with how amazing it feels on the skin. Can layer lots and never feel it on my face!
Jen also mentioned in another video the Live Tint sunscreen in the orange tube and it’s very nice and wears well under foundation too.
Really looking forward to other categories in this series!
seeing your son with his plushie in his arms and then the dinosaur from the calender thing was so precious ❤❤❤
I bought the Simply Ageless powder after seeing it in a video of yours. It's fantastic! I have oily skin, and I get a full work day's wear out of it. It makes my pores look smaller and looks natural.

lol had to giggle at “alcoholism”. But yes they’re both great.
@ , oops typo 😬!
My weekend makeup I love combining the bubble tinted SPF, catrice concealer and the Laura gellar powder.
I love nude glow!!! I think their other foundations are thick. This one I agree with you!!😊
Yes! I find that one to be the most comfortable to wear too.
Your eye makeup in this video is stunning!
Love the Milani blurring primer.
I think I use almost all of your drugstore choices. 😂 I would throw it out there that the Maybelline concealer with the poufy tip is great for mature undereyes as well. Check out the rms hydra setting powder. I purchased it recently, and it's wonderful on my dry, mid-40s skin.
My go to for powder is the Laura Mercier Ultra Blur Translucent and the new slightly pink ultra blur.
Tyfs your favorites! I also have dry skin and I love anything pore smoothing too. Love these videos! Have a great weekend! Hugs 💖
Hey Jen, I watched your videos on a regular basis in the last year, I am surprised you didn't mention the Elf Soft Glam Foundation. It is such a good one!

That eyeshadow looks gorgeous with your sweater! Good job, Henry!

Try mixing the IT cosmetics nude glow & the Illuminance. I did that this morning & it turned out so beautiful 😍
I love your content all year round but really look forward to the Holiday content ❤
Love your complexion videos. I wasn't a big fan of the tir tir foundation either. Whenever I want to try a new foundation, I go to your videos.
I generally use drugstore foundation, but decided to try the Fenty one. I'm so glad I did! It's beautiful on my 73 year old skin!
Thank you so much! Merry Christmas to you and yours! 🥰
I use powder over my lighter weight foundation or skin tints.
Hi Jen, I very much enjoyed watching this video, the Milani lipgloss’s are one of my favourites at the drugstore. Love Katherine xoxo
The packaging of the Saint Jane sunscreen is beautiful in and of itself!❤
It is, right?! It's almost too pretty to use, haha!
