I still remember his 1st tranformation scene in the movie and I thought it was the best thing ever. He also has the most human kills compared to other decepticons (afaik). Then after that, all decepticons became a joke.
As a kid I remember the horrible time I had transforming any transformers for the first time. After a few times I got used to it but I never acknowledged the engineer n build for these toys. It’s incredibly impressive how well built these things are despite being made originally for children.
1) the crotch piece as a tiny square flap at the bottom that should be folded back in robot mode 2) the center cap of the small rotor blade weapon should have the smooth side up in helicopter mode and the detailed side up in robot mode. Otherwise great transformation video. I am impressed by how you manage to get a lot of the transformation done with one hand considering how many moving panels are on this guy.
I love it. Blackout was my first live action experience with Transformers and he is my favourite ever since. Now that I have gone back to watching G1 and Blackout is Soundwave's life action incarnate and who is also my favorite. Made it even better, now I want the figure.
I’ve just recently got back into transformers and unless you are willing to take a risk and cough up on a G1 MP, these MPM’s are all you can get. I got this blackout recently as my first in figure in 15 yr. it’s very cool and I’m not even a Bay fan.

They might as well called him Vortex and used the Combaticons. Most of the Decepticons were military vehicles anyway. The tank they called "Devastator" should have just been called "Brawl" in the movie and "Bonecrusher" could have been "Onslaught". The people in charge should have overruled Bay on such things.

This one's from a line aimed towards nostalgic adults looking for a more complex collector's item. There are some simpler, more rugged transformers out there and I'm glad we get both.
The decepticons sure knew how to be intimidating. They all went for some seriously scary looking and large forms while the only big and intimidating autobots imo was ironhide and optimus.
Well Bonecrusher is a given and he's coming before the end of year and since all of the other Autobots are done that leaves Brawl as the only missing 2007 movie big robot, not counting Frenzy. Really hope next year's all new MPM will be him, it's the logical choice.

Takara finally answered my 15 year old question as to how Blackout was able to use his rotor as a weapon while simultaneously having it on his back!
he uses the smaller rotor blades on the tail of his alt mode

My opinion Blackout is the best looking new age transformer toy in vehicle mode and robot.
The degree of engineering is beyond words. The fact that the "backpack" became part of the back structure and support is design perfection.
Really impressive, remember seeing him transform on the big screen for the first time, was blown away.
