Thank you for the suggestion. The procedure demonstrated would be more involved as the original Nikon FM does not have a VF screen that can be removed without removing the top cover and the prism to gain access.
My FM is still working but definitely needs the dust cleaned out! Will be watching for that video! I also shoot a digital Nikon D3400 and wish it had the same focus screen as my FM. I use my old Nikon glass with it often but only to find later that I missed the focus. I found replacement split focus & micro prism ring screens but non that list my model as compatible.
To replace the focusing viewfinder screen of the Pentax Spotmatic the top cover and then the prism are removed in order to access the focusing screen frame.
In 40 years of using SLR's, I have never once even heard of anyone dropping their camera hard enough to "dislodge" the focusing screen. Could be a manufacturing defect. ?
True enough, it can happen but there would usually be other damage as well. Mainly it is useful for cleaning dust from the viewfinder or replace a scratched screen.

My Nikon FM2 shuttering same speed for all shutter speed even Bulb Mode, Do you know how to fix this ????
Could you do a video for cleaning the screen on a Nikon FM camera? The notch for removal of the screen is not there in this model.

I have the same problem and I send the camera they said I need to repair 240$ );
Sounds like you might want to try and do it yourself.
