Open a company called 'the regal polo' and sell the same sets for half the cost... you would still make a decent profit without ripping everyone off!!!
You're not wrong!
It can be easily done!! It's a big 'up yours' statement to these sharks, and they cant do anything about it!!!
I totally agree.
I think it’s great that you make these videos, especially as there’s always a chance you save someone a load of money if they see it whilst researching the product!
If I can save one person buying this set then it's mission accomplished
Well done BYB - keep holding them to account.
I will, they just can't help themselves
I bought my boxed Silver Jubilee coin for £10 a year or so ago.
Ebay is probably the best barometer to use to find a true value
It's borderline criminal.
I feel embarrassed by the royal mint
Yep, it's really bad.
Like 19🎉 Hey BYB, I just sent an official complaint and asked for the registration number. I'm gonna make a video about this after I will get an answer. Hopefully I will get one. Thanks for makeing this kind of videos.
Good for you buddy. I hope they reply to you.
I know you’re going to hate me but one thing that is more obvious, Elizabeth 1st reigned from 1558 to 1603 she was undoubtedly the greatest and longest reigning English monarch. The other two were of course British monarchs so very sorry. One thing that numismatics has taught me is accuracy. As for the valuation of their coins I have to agree they are experts in highway robbery.
I don't hate you for sharing that, you are very correct !
Elizabeth 11 was the longest reigning monarch from 1952 until 2023!
Yes indeed!
Totally agree she was Britain’s longest reigning monarch, Elizabeth 1 was Englands longest reigning monarch. The union of the crowns of Scotland and England occurred on the 24th of March 1603 with the accession of James the 1st and 6th. The parliament’s were not joined until 1707. With the accession of James Britain would still have to wait some time before the coinage was joined.
The Royal Mint forgot to mention the presentation case contains 1/4 oz of gold.
I actually have the CuNi Silver Jubilee Crown sitting right in front of me on my desk. The commemorative Crowns mean quite a lot to me as may grandparents collected them at the time of occasion they were celebrating and have passed them on to me. Completely by chance I got out this coin, the festival of Britain Crown, Charles and Diana engagement (I think) Crown and QE DoE Silver wedding anniversary Crown to have a look at last night. I would not sell these coins for £750 for obvious reasons, they are cheap but meaningful mementos, I don't even care they are not the silver versions, even the silver ones aren't something to put in a fancy box to con people in to paying this much for! I have the QV veiled head Crown in a little frame on my desk as well, it was a christening present. Thinking about it, it must have been the very first coin in my collection.
Thanks for sharing, they are playing on these emotions to con people of out hundreds of pounds. All to line the pockets of the executive team earning £378,000 for the ceo last year.
Just check down the side of the box incase there's a sovereign as part of the set.
Guess not.
If anyone tries to resell this they'll probably get more for the box than the coins.
Totally agree.
Get in how to rip off your customer in one flashy box and a bit of card
100% this.
BYB please do a video of the best dealers to buy gold and silver coins ffrom. Best price for us.
I was reading on a fb forum about them doing silent auctions and emailing the losing bidders to bid more? Bit of a scandal if they are.
Yeah, I made a number of videos about it. Shocking behavior.
So where does the Royal Mint get these coins from? Was it 499 boxed sets? I would imagine that they themselves are buying them off Ebay. Seems an obvious thing to do.
They told me they reach out to approved dealers that they get supply from. They also told me that they pay more when they buy in bulk. Totally stupid and also they won't open up about actual profit margins. They just take as much as possible.
Erm what ....
I think someone mistakenly added a zero at the end of the 75....
And even at 75 i think they are cheeky in that condition!
I mean, you're not wrong. Shame on them.
@@BackyardBullion it seems to me those running the royal mint have all the morals of a magpie
Well, Anne Jessop was paid £378,000 last year. Over £200,000 in bonus
@@BackyardBullion her bonus came from the innocent people they ripped off....
Contact rip off Britain BYB 😅😂
Hope you get an answer but I don’t think you will lol 😢 too much money in it! If they can sell a few of them even it’s big money for them! The royal mint are going down the road of some of the other companies that are selling trash and making out that they’re worth a fortune.
They need to listen to eBay, cos if they don’t, people will buy it there and the RM will just lose a lot of customers and money 👍
Nah, they literally don't care. Smoke and mirrors in engaging with me over it. Showing their true colors now.
I have a Spinks 2004 Edition 🙂
I wonder what a 2004 spinks book says a QE1 sixpence is worth.
@@BackyardBullion hmm i would give an answer but it depends as you are aware on the particular issue and quality !
i will look it up if you supply the details ! 🙂
1564 Milled coinage !
Just the most common example I guess, it's not like the royal mint will give you a special rare coin.
hmm spinks #2597 if same £65 F £235 VF !
Haha... was wondering how long before you did a video about this 😂
The box is £500+ 😂
Maybe even a £600 box
Where is the very naughty Queen Anne ? 😎
If they added more queens in at £250 per coin they would price themselves out of the market....oh wait they already did that.
