Hey guys, _"parquet"_ is the term I was trying to think of at 9:12. Forgot to add it as a pop-up, so I figured I'd add it here. 😉 Also, two more examples of this technique I should've mentioned in the video are glitching a store counter into a food cart like in my Vault 42 build: th-cam.com/video/P6n1-POCUrM/w-d-xo.htmlm30s and also glitching a store counter into an overseer's desk to create an info center: th-cam.com/video/P6n1-POCUrM/w-d-xo.htmlm45s

I may be 5 years late to the party but I got to thank you for this video. It really help my mall area of my Gray Garden settlement. I'm building this in Fallout 4 VR so there are extra challenges to overcome. For one the pillar could not go as far back as yours. I had to use an electrical pipe to get the pillar to the right distance from the counter, only then I could glitch it into the circular window.
Kinda glad you ran into issues with the elevation for the rug "glitch" and "red zone" with the pillar "glitch". Constantly struggle with those but awesome solution advice. Love these idea's. Off to the Bazaar!
Vendor Tip TLDR: If it is good enough spot for Brahmin then it good enough for vendors. I found that some settlements have dead zones. NPCs in these spots may interact with items or stalls but if you try to trade or barter, all they do is say "Huh, Yeah?" What I've found is that these area wont let you build a brahmin trough. So before you go building a trade center, try to build a trough first. If it is greyed out, build somewhere else. This is from where your feet are so try a few spots until you can make a line and dont build past that line. Beds seem to be fine, settlers will sleep anywhere.
Boxcars! Make a simple boxcar with a doorway piece. Then place the vendor booth in the opening. Then to cover up the bottom part and make it look nicer, use the solid, tan-ish looking fence and place them in from of the stand, at the edge of the boxcar opening. I can't remember if the fences will snap to those openings or if you have to glitch them in. But, it makes for a nice, contained store. Beds fit nicely in the end-cap pieces too. What I ended up doing was the wooden stilt floors to the open area (yes. floors snap to the opening without the sliding door already in place). This gave it a boardwalk look and with the boxcar and boardwalk on stilts, everything looked uniform. I even added a wooden door frame to one end of it (rather than using the sliding door in the middle of the car).
Rug glitch tip around 3:45 was invaluable... I couldn't for the life of me figure out why it wasn't working when I tried after your first rug glitch video, but I was trying at Oberland, the uneven-ground capital of the Wasteland... You just saved me soooooo much frustration.
I'm not gonna lie I was using the rug glitch for starlight drive in before I found your videos but with the No Mod Shop Class I've learned so many new ways to build I'm going to be able to make nice clean looking settlements
Over 800 hours and the only time I have tried to rug glitch was a frustrating run of trying to touch a vendor stall into Starlight Drive In. I needed this video approximately 700 hours ago. LOL I guess this run's settlements will _finally_ be epic!
Oh no, I binge watched this series and finished in 2 days. Great pacing in your videos and easy to understand. I will be eagerly awaiting the next episode :D
Cool video, love your no mods series! Are you guys not frustrated with those floors? Such a waste that they are only coming with ceilings!!! So many cool things could be done with this nice wooden flooring.
Actually helped a lot. I've been having issues with the rug glitch at Starlight. Couldn't figure out why. Makes sense that even the slightest uneven terrain can cause issues. Will try it out and let y'all know if it worked out
The collision often seems to be more forgiving/less vigilant when the pieces in question are further from the camera, in my experience. Not sure if that is what is behind the "backwards" way you held the post to get into the round window, but I do that sometimes too for similar problems.
I use a small wood floor section and a couple of rugs to place the stores into the diner. The height allows them to drop perfectly flush with the countertop.
You are the king of fallout building bro! Cool that you ski/snowboard too. Man i love your videos beyond whats considered normal. And have been watching you tube for over 10 years and your videos are literally the first I've gave a thumbs up believe it or not 😄 this is my favourite channel and if i wasn't broke i would donate thousands to your patreon so you could make 100 videos a day hahaha i hope to donate to you soon fam.. Il be keeping up with you. And playing fallout religiously of course. I could go on but il leave it 😂 peace!
So first and foremost thank you for remembering my obscure question months ago and tagging me to come check this out. That puts you in high esteem my friend. I tried pillar glitching the walls around the shop in one of my builds and that worked ok but not like this. It's beyond simple thank you for shedding light. Now can you take this technique say to Egret tours marina and glitch one of these bad boys in am existing counter??? Will be trying that out today. ♡♡♡
I don't know about at Egret tours, but I glitched a general store and clinic counters into the existing counters at the store in Covenant. I'll try your idea next.
Late bloomer on FO4 lol have been using place any where mod, but been using more and more tips n tricks from your vids. Wean myself off mods for a while thanks.
I'm loving these lessons bro. I'm finding myself more interested in building settlements than playing the actual game. In your opinion, is it best to enjoy the building aspects of the game before or after you beat it? Thing is with me, when I complete the game, I'm done (not including the side mission and dlc). I feel that the attacks on the settlement will happen less often, I'll be too strong at the end that it will be unfair to the Deathclaws. I mean, is it possible to beat the game, come back, and still enjoy it? Or will it end like FO3 (start of the last mission, and that's game)? Hope I'm making sense. Working on that extra credit :D
Love it! Have you run into an issue after assigning settlers to these glitched stores Paul? I'm finding some no longer give the barter option, they just speak a one-liner and don't offer the dialogue options.
Interesting. Haven't run into that problem. Well except maybe right after an attack on the settlement, but that should end after a day or so in game time.
Skooled Zone Hmm...ok. It's now affected 2 settlements, but I don't recall seeing the "help defend" notification. I'll shuffle them around to different assignments and see what happens. Thank you for the reply!!
I've been trying to figure out a way to put the snappable level 3 counters into the stand at the drive-in so there are a handful of merchants selling things from inside the little building. Since we can't rug glitch them, I'm at a loss and am sad it doesn't seem possible.
I don't think you can do this with level 3 shops. Cause I have all the level 4 vendors in sanctuary including Mac and Parker Quinn. Kelly is stationed beside my house to get Brahmin from her. Looking for dog vendor but atm I have not found him yet.
Paul, this is off topic, but please make an experiment. You can do it all by yourself without recording it but: Dress your character or a settler in a black suit and a sack hood. Then think about what pop-cultural icon that reminds you of. Maybe something for next Halloween?
I've been having lots of problems trying to rebuild the bigger house with the cave at Coastal Cottage. I tried making the floor first and pillar glitch but no dice. Also tried it one by one. I'm so frustrated lol. I had to leave and ended up redoing the ceiling for Taffington lol
The larger ones probably extend too far to the left or right to work. But if you're looking for extra shelf space, you can just rug glitch in some shelves.
The beige countertop tables came with an update to the game. You just need a way to download the update. You can also buy a cheap used copy of the _Game of the Year_ edition which also comes with all the DLC!
Patrik is right about that. Buy hey, you could always try to pop a rounded window in there and see if it'll still let you interact. On the other hand, the bars might still work if you wanted to create like a bank teller look or something. See my pillar glitch video on how to create a row of bars: th-cam.com/video/M9OQAseCIcg/w-d-xo.html :)
Oh my gosh! It's been so long... You probably didn't recognize me, I've changed my entire TH-cam since, I was Bazooka Turtle... I've changed Alot, I actually have a Fallout Glitch that can give you something to do! The mission where you must take Cait to vault 95, I've taken her multiple times, and when I get to that room to cure her, she refuses to do anything, at random times, she will sit in the chair, but the terminal states that no subject is in the chair. Even I tried sitting in it.

Great Video. I wouldn't have ever thought about trying it backwards.
I used the rectangle windows with a doorway with a door behind it to give an effect like you could lock up shop when the day ends 🙌 kinda neat.
Cool video, love your no mods series! Are you guys not frustrated with those floors? Such a waste that they are only coming with ceilings!!! So many cool things could be done with this nice wooden flooring.

hah! Thanx! I was trying this a while ago and gave up. I figured if I waited long enough, an answer would present itself.
Right on. Did you see this video I made last year? th-cam.com/video/2Uk9kAyIqSo/w-d-xo.html

Man what an awesome idea with the shop! Doing this!
I used the snappable ones at Covenant inside the store. You can put them where the counter is in line so you can read the name. Very easy to do.

The struggle with the vault stuff (at least for me) seems to be what to do with it outside of a vault.
Absolutely love your videos my settlements are so much nicer because of your tips
Right on Lillian :)
Out of curiosity, which settlements do you have unlocked in your playthrough?
I think I have all of them unlocked except the Nuka World Red Rocket, which I'll be unlocking in my next walkthrough episode. :)
Nice job👍👍
Nice! These look sweet as
I do something similar with the concrete walls, but those look much better... tx
I don't think you can do this with level 3 shops. Cause I have all the level 4 vendors in sanctuary including Mac and Parker Quinn. Kelly is stationed beside my house to get Brahmin from her. Looking for dog vendor but atm I have not found him yet.
Here's a better dog vendor actually: th-cam.com/video/k0f-dAV0QIA/w-d-xo.html
I could only get the general vendor to work in this method. I had to use the older wooden vendor stands to work this way. Still looks pretty good.
That's odd. In my Vault 42 build, I was able to get one of each kind of vendor shop to work this way.
Skooled Zone. I probably did something wrong but I am happy with the way it turned out.
Paul, this is off topic, but please make an experiment. You can do it all by yourself without recording it but:
Dress your character or a settler in a black suit and a sack hood. Then think about what pop-cultural icon that reminds you of.
Maybe something for next Halloween?
You have me stumped. I don't know the reference. Maybe some heist movie?
Skooled Zone Well, it may be just in my mind, but I think it looks a bit like Slenderman (though a bit shorter, clearly)
@@patrikhjorth3291 My guess was scarecrow, from the Nolan Batman movies.
Wait I have always wanted to do this..... First :)
Happy New Year teach
Is the rug glitch just a PC/XBox thing? I can’t get it to work on PS.
It should work on every platform. Check out the original video: th-cam.com/video/tKLNPicHmBU/w-d-xo.html
Do you commentate over the edited video? So not live commentary right?
I record my audio and video onto separate tracks but I do them at the same time.
I was wondering as well, because he was talking normally while it was in speed
I've been having lots of problems trying to rebuild the bigger house with the cave at Coastal Cottage. I tried making the floor first and pillar glitch but no dice. Also tried it one by one. I'm so frustrated lol. I had to leave and ended up redoing the ceiling for Taffington lol
You should ask for some tips on the Subreddit :) AfterSkooled.Club
Skooled Zone ok I'll go check it out. Thanks!
i tried using this on the atrium overseer window and the larger vault tech stands( Emporium) it does not seem to work. any advice?
The larger ones probably extend too far to the left or right to work. But if you're looking for extra shelf space, you can just rug glitch in some shelves.
How do i get get those countertop tables i only got the emporiums
The beige countertop tables came with an update to the game. You just need a way to download the update. You can also buy a cheap used copy of the _Game of the Year_ edition which also comes with all the DLC!
Can you put the overseer glass in there to provide an additional barrier?
Or even metal bars if there is some without the mods?
The glass might make it difficult to actually talk to the vendor, I suspect.
How do you group-select in PC?
I don't use a PC, but try holding [E] and see if that works.
Belle idée 😊
Have you gotten to workshop factory builds yet?
That'll be part of the double-black diamond lessons, along with logic gates. 😀
Bro how do you group select? Im using ps4. Thanks!
