So I was just gifted this gal and I'm kind of scared to remove her from the box and play with her. I love the idea of the rinse and set on the hair and I might have to do that if I am ever brave enough to debox her. I really enjoyed this video and it has made me even more excited about this new girl. Excited enough to actually play with her and try some funky hairstyles. I so hope they choose to do a black one of these!
Great review. And it's nice to have an oversized doll that isn't Chucky or Annabelle (Chucky is a 30" tall doll, only six inches taller than Amaya). And for her size, her clothes and hair are truly impressive quality, much better than those life sized Barbie dolls probably. As for possible hairstyles for her, maybe a straight high ponytail. If I had to see any of the other characters in a 24" size, Bella would probably be a good choice just based on her popularity in the RH fandom. But yeah, those are my thoughts.

I love the hair styles you gave her! 😆 I just purchased Amaya and love her, but her knees won't bend and I'm afraid of breaking them. Since you mentioned that they are quite tight, I might try again. I make and sell clothes, footwear and jewelry for dolls so she is going to be fun to design for. I already have 4 pairs of shoes in the works...she can't wait until I'm done with them. 😄
This may be late advice, perhaps you’ve figured out the knees issue, but I thought perhaps you could dip the knees into boiling/hot water (if you’re concerned, check online if it’s safe/do a test strip on the hard plastic elsewhere) to soften the plastic and gently ease them into bending.
Can I reccomend using Dollar Store Curl Products? I spray the hair, add a bit of product, then curl. I put the doll in front of my AC unit and it dries fast. I have also found using wave product with curlers makes wavy hair. The product lasts a few months w/o brushing but lasts a few weeks with play/brushing. It's very good for dolls.
Not going to lie I'm not the biggest fan of giant dolls I prefer the average scale Barbie Monster High rainbow high etc she looks absolutely stunning though😊❤👻
I have had some hair training, yes! Mainly cutting and coloring though, for hair styling and curling, I'm mostly selftaught. I've been doing (doll) hair all my life though, so I've had my fair share of practice!
Super late reply but just bought this for my daughter and noticed where the top leg part is looks like it is coming apart and splitting same as the side of the leg so wanted to know if you think she is fragile and would break easily for a 6 almost 7 year old to play with
