- Rocco Zikarsky did what he pleased in the low post and added an immediate shot-blocking presence on Brisbane’s interior, alongside fellow young star Josh Bannan. He ended the game with 23 points, eight rebounds and six blocks, from just 20 minutes of playing time.
This kid will be an NBA player and Olympian. You can book that.

What makes him any different than Zach Edey? Honest question.. Edey has an inch and 65 pounds on Zikarsky, Edey also just won Player of the Year this last year in the NCAA and is still coming back for his senior year. All projections have Edey as a fringe second round draft pick. Is Zikarsky more mobile? Better rim Protector? More skilled? Just not seeing the difference... Maybe NBA scouts see him as a Walker Kessler like player? I don't think he's close to as quick and mobile as Kessler... but is a couple inches taller and may have a larger wingspan.
@@nealanderson9719 Well for a start he is only 16... 5 years younger than Zach Edey. He is barely out of nappies... will likely still grow and the skills he is going to develop in the next 5 years when he gets to Edey's age will far surpass what he can do.. especially as he is playing in probably the 2nd or 3rd best brofessional league in the world after the NBA... and against grown men and NBA players.
@@nealanderson9719this is a fair question but the big answer is mobility. I doubt zach edey will be able to keep up with the nba pace for more than 20mpg while rocco looks about as mobile as your typical nba big. The NCAA is very good at making big men look very good but edey does not really have much of a game out sealing your opponent, spinning and dunking. Classic college superstar. Zikarsky while raw shows a much more diverse skillet. Will probably develop into a reliable shooter and looks good on defence. Not sure if he's an nba star in the making but should definitely fill a niche while edey won't
Absolutely. The footwork is elite and he’s got a solid frame for such a young guy. And I like his shot-blocking technique. Keeps the arms low until the last second to throw off defenders.

Roc is 17 a senior in high school equivalent - he has atwo bullets seasons in the NBL before he’s eligible for the 2025 draft! Lots of hard work and lessons between now and then but seriously. He’s going #1 in 2025. 🙌🙌

What about Zach Edey? He's an inch taller, 65 pounds heavier and just won POY in the NCAA... still only projected as a fringe second rounder in next years draft. What's the difference in skillsets?? I don't see Zikarsky skillset warranting a top 10 pick in the modern NBA, 20th overall at best IMO, unless he continues to develop a 3 pointer and his expands his dribbling ability...
@@nealanderson9719 I genuinely expect him to develop his 3 point shot to a reasonable level regardless. The bullets coaches want to move him up the draft board as much as they can, so 3-pt shot, dribbling, agility and passing/playmaking will be his focal points over the next year or two I assume. This is why I’m expecting top 10, and much higher if his 3-pt exceeds expectations. Keep in mind he’s 7’3 atm with potential to get taller, NBA eats that shi up
@@maitlandbezzina2842 well there's far too many 7'3 or taller prospects going around right now...has a lot of competition...spain's aday mara, south sudan's khaman malauch, france have wemby and sarr, canada have oliver rioux and edey and the US have a bunch of them as well ( ,kessler, chet) among others...
