Great advice. Did physio with therapist and continue at home every day and walked nine 3 months after THR on my trail leg. Adjusted my swing as demonstrated and no longer need to take ibuprofen. Hardest part of all was just being patient but feeling great plus my lower back pain is long gone!

Thanks for the information. I am 9 weeks post surgery and can do the movements you suggested in the other video prior to golfing. I made some full iron swings yesterday and felt fine, but boy did I feel it today. I thought I screwed something up. Fortunately, after moving around and slow stretching I felt pretty good. It seems to be the hip flexor that is still a bit tight and sore. Anything I can safely do to remedy that? Thanks!

massage gun or lacrosse ball to the hip flexors is usually good for that type of thing!

At age 68 during Covid in England I had a total left hip replacement. Kicked out of the hospital after one night and I had to invent my own Physio as no one was allowed to visit. I was playing competition golf off our back tees after 10 weeks. Obviously walking the course as we don’t allow buggies. My major exercise was walking and I got up to five miles a day after 6 weeks.

I read this and cringed a bit. I had my hip replacement in December 2023. Within a month the doc was letting me swing short clubs with half swings. About 2 months post op I played 18 and hurt very bad. For two months every time I would play I would hurt badly. In May they told me I had a stress fracture and had to take 6 weeks off. Was cleared at the end of June to start playing 9 a week for a few weeks, then move up to 9 twice a week then 18. Just played my first 18 last Saturday. Shot pretty good and without much pain. It was fairly sore the next day and a little better the next but still feeling it. Don't rush it too much like I did. I know everyone is different but I can't help but to think if I had just waited the 3 months before doing anything that I would have save myself a lot of pain and time away from the course.
