Every other video has a small drill mounted flex or ball hone. Dale has an industrial grade one!! Really learned a lot watching. Thanks!

That is an old Sunnen pin and rod hone from the 70's. Still accurate today as it was then. I like the old tools, and they cheap to buy and easy to find. Getting ready to start another bike. Standby for that. Thanks for watching James.

These videos are a godsend ! I've got a 1976 TC125 that I've just done a rebuild on as it was down on compression (50psi) and rattled very loudly. After the rebuild it has ok compression 75-90psi but still rattles at idle but goes away when under load, any suggestions? Sounds like middle of the engine but no play in any bearings as it's all been checked when rebuilt. Thanks !

Did you bore or hone the cylinder. If so did you chamfer the ports. If not rings can be hanging in the ports. Thanks for the comment and for watchin

@@montana2strokeracer We have since discovered the bore was .23 over in the middle but in spec at top and bottom hence the rattle, have now been rebored and ports chamfered. Ran pretty good even with low compression but happy its been solved, have you altered the gearing on yours at all ? mine sounds much much busier driving down the road compared to yours in the drive video.

No I went back with standard gearing. I glad to hear that you were able to isolate the problem. Two stroke engines always wear more around the ports because of many reasons. Wash out from fuel and dirt entering the cylinder. It's so important to make sure you have good and sealed air cleaner. Thanks for your comment and for watchin.
