sir , i just noted that what you had taught ,jus works well for schema=['id'..] syntax, where in column containing arrays is of array type, but when a proper schema is being provided , in that case the column type will be of Struct type so in that case df = df.withColumn('col_name', df.col_name[0]) does not works...df = df.withColumn('col_name', df.col_name.nested_col_name) works.
