I was locked up and my situation was really jacked up. Without going into it, I was a young husband/father trying to be slick and make a fast buck. 20 years later, I see that I was being set up to fail. Even if I could have made a profit here or there, I was being set up to fail: trouble was always in my way. Anyway, church call was my favorite time. I really needed to hear something different, see something different and this men's group came to the facility where I was and these four black older men sang this song at a slower tempo. I have never forgotten it (there are two more verses by the way). I have taught it to my 25-year-old and 20-year-old sons when they were children(they are church musicians) and my five-year-old daughter also knows the song(she will try to tell me how it goes). If you look at certain things like that it'll make you praise God for the small wonders not just the big ones. I often miss the bigger picture trying to be so detailed.
