    Your Dune Buggy is a late model. The Engine head is on the right side and has the plastic flywheel starting system. There is also cutouts on the sides of the body, the lights & muffler are black vs. the older Chrome plated parts. These cars have become classics. If these were run for any length of time the plastic breaks down and becomes gummy. The body mounting tabs and the back area where the die cast engine goes is another weak point. I remember Christmas morning 1972 opening up and getting one from my grandfather, I asked for one for Christmas not realizing how expensive they were. My Aunt was furious when she learned how much he spent on it. I had my Buggy until I went off to College and when I returned found that my little turd brother stripped it out. I just found a new in box one and bought it. it immediately brought back memories of that Christmas morning. My father got quite the kick of it running to boot, we had a long strip of grass that was clumpy and quite frozen. When the Buggy was released it jumped, wheelied and took off running bouncing all over the place. It was a real hoot!!

    beautiful condition & THANK YOU FOR THIS MEMORY! cox also made a version that had radio steering - i had one! it was pretty quick, and you had no control over the speed once you let go, but if you got good you could steer it around the yard and run out the tank. very fun / VERY LOUD .049 2-stroke engine. it was always covered with a fine layer of fuel and driveway dust.

      at least you had the steering!!

    I had one of these that I INSISTED I wanted for my 6th birthday. I was way to young for ist -as my father pointed out-, but I had to have it. We did use it a few times over the years. But those glow-plug engines got HOT. Not the funnest thing for a kid to garb then the engine was 150 degrees celsius. Still I loved that dune buggy. That tires did get flat- I guess very common.

    I'd like the cox with the tamiya wheels but to keep the cox tires. Are the wheels interchangeable between the two?

    • @NANNIRC
      @NANNIRC  ปีที่แล้ว

      You know, nothing is impossible it depends from the kind of work you do. Tamiya tires on cox rims.... I don't think. Ciao and thankyou!

    Io ho ancora la versione originale con l'accensione a strappo come un fuoribordo... gli accidenti che tiravo per farla partire da bambino, avremo cambiato il cavetto almeno una decina di volte, si sfilacciava nonostante fosse di metallo da tanti strappi andavano dati per farla partire 😁😁

      La mia prima l'ho comprata che andavo ancora alle medie. Mi ricordo la vita d'inferno per risparmiare la montagna di soldi che costava. Non sono mai riuscito a farla partire fino a che, dopo qualche hanno, l'ho venduta per runa frazione del prezzo a un mio cugino che ,con suo fratello, è riuscito a farla funzionare e mi disse che era divertentissima. Mi è sempre rimasta nel cuore fino a che alla soglia dei 20 anni ne ho trovata un'altra che è questa. Non l'ho mai accesa....

    I can smell the Castor Oil... and feel the agony of trying to find a decent starter battery or figure out why the glow plug burned out. COX was the bomb!!

    I had one of these it lasted about 10 days to 2 weeks and the gears striped out and I tossed it in the scrap pile!! (one of those things that I thought I needed but in reality was JUNK)

    Nice model Nanni, it reminds me of some old movies from C. Pedersoli.
    I actually have a question about body shells. These days I am into customization and non stock things. So far I know about these companies that do bodyshells: MonTech, Bittydesign, Killerbody and Deltaplastik. Please, can you let me know about other body-shell manufacturers?

      @@NANNIRC I think, well im pretty sure you could at least put a steering servo & RX on it. yeah, I want one so bad (for memories) I can taste it but the prices they're going for are very high, like $200 - $400 and not in great shape like yours in the video looks great.
