That lilting footwork on the sand dunes, the vivid costumes, the music, everything is still entrenched in my memory ever since I experienced a Kalbeliya performance. The bright colors, the lively music and the expression of utter joy through their performances left me mesmerized as a kid. I was indeed a bliss to ride on the same kind of overjoyed emotions. The culture and art that my country beholds is vastly beautiful, and I am glad that I am fascinated by it.
Your creations never fail to impress. So is it piece encapsulating in itself not merely music or dance, but a beautiful folklore, a display of one of the many communities that enrich the cultural heritage of this country, and preserve their traditions and art so well.
The composition, the vocals, the dance, the costumes, visuals, landscapes, every aspect is so beautiful in itself, but when they amalgamate together, they create this paragon of art. The visuals and production is just amazing, impeccable work by the whole team. I can keep looking at those aerial shots, especially the lanterns for hours, as well as the colorful costumes of the dancers. Everything is so full of life. There is perfect interplay of finesse and rawness, just like a Kalbeliya performance, intricate and fluid, mimicing nature is various respects.
This song feels like a journey. The exposition with the haunting sound of the been, paired with the guitars, giving it a Romani sound giving way to the arrival of Mrs Shah's majestic vocals, resonant, ornamented beautifully. However, with the onset of the dholak and manjira, which blends in with the guitar and the been, to create such a groove, that one can not help but sway to it. All of this preluding to the robust vocals of Asha Sapera, without doubt being the highlight of the song. The vocals are in itself so rhythmic. Just the way they are phrased, for instance, the words mori and manavo, is so unique to this style, each syllable like a syncopated beat lending to the rhythm that is so fun and danceable. The duet is so beautiful, each voice texture intermingling to create a mellifluous timbre, transitioning into a masterly taan. And as any Maati Baani song is incomplete without a lustrous instrumental section, we finally get to the presto section, with the true beauty of this art form coming to the forefront. The melody of the been with the rapid, fluid moves and the percussions are delightful. The melody is such an earworm and so infectious that one wants it continue forever. I could listen to this song on loop, everything flows in and out so naturally, each section melting into the other so smoothly. The whole song is so enjoyable that one doesn't want it to end.
I am so grateful to have been born in a country where such art prevails and such artists reside. Nirali ma'am, you are such an inspiration, I can not help but be intrigued by your thoughts and persona, and also Mr Shah's creativity and ability to bring in together ideas and elements to create an unimaginable experience. Looking forward to more such ingenous songs.

वैसे भी "आपणे राजस्थान" में नए गानों में बिना "सिर-पर-पैर" के लिरिक्स होते हैं, राजस्थान में हमें अभी कुछ अच्छे लिरिक्स लिखने वाले लोग चाहिए जो संस्कृति को बचा सकें।
आजकल ज्यादातर गानों को DJ के मध्यनजर बनाया जाता हैं, सबमें एक ही प्रकार की Beat और Lyrics होते हैं, दो दो साल तक एक ही गाना चलता है सारे सिंगर वही गाना तोड़ मरोड़ कर गा देते हैं 😅।
