- The video discusses in detail the Concept and Interpretation of R-Square, F-Square, and Q-Square using SMART-PLS4.
The focus of the session is on explaining Model Explanatory Power (R Square and F Square) and Q Square (Predictive Relevance). Finally, the scholars will also learn how to report the results.

Hi sir, I dont think I can thank you enough for this SmartPLS4 series. Your videos have helped me every step of my data analysis procedure and I dont think I would be able to come this far without your videos. You have certainly reduced my anxiety for this huge part of my research. May Allah repay your kind and sincere efforts for your continuous research knowledge-sharing and may He bless you and your family.
Ms. Nadiah. Al hamdullilah. May Allah (swt) accept all your prayers in my favor. I am indeed grateful for your nice words and appreciation. I am glad that the videos have helped you in attaining your desired goals.
Wow!!! I don't have words for how I can explain this to you. Generally, God bless you more and more!! 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏❤❤❤❤❤
Pleasure. I am glad you liked it.
Thank you so much, It was going to be so much easier to understand these concepts if my teacher have explained like this, you are a life saver.
Glad to hear that!
Thank you so much! My online supervisor for my study!
You are welcome!
Great toturial, thank you very much 💐🙏🏼
Thanks. I am glad you liked it.
Well explained sir, keep up the good work! Cannot thank you enough. Allah bless.
You are most welcome
Thank you sir for your every video. Sir, i have one question regarding one tailed and two tailed test using smartpls 4 . While using one tailed test more hypotheses are accepting as compared to applying two tailed test. Sir can you please suggest, when to use one tailed and two tailed test? Is there any conditions to use any particular one? Thank you sir
For an idea, sir my hypotheses are like *There is a significant impact of organisational commitment (Independent variable) on job satisfaction (dependent variable) among teachers.
Thanks for watching. Use One Tailed when you have proposed the direction of the relationship (positive or negative). Otherwise use Two Tailed.
Can we use the Consistent PLS Algorithm f2 value and the rest of the values from the PLS Algorithm?
Better to use one algorithm.
Sir, is there need to present adjusted R square values in data interpretation part of research ?? Even values of adjusted R square are less then the values of R square
report r-sq
Sir, the value of f Square is 0.00, in such case what should we do ?? (All values are less than 0.02) kindly guide...
And
sir, what is difference between R square and R square adjusted?? is there any difference between threshold limit of both ?
It is weak effect, report as they are. Use R square.
Thank you very much!
You've mentioned that Cohen (1988) suggested that R2 is substantial when higher than 0.26. Could you please tell me where I can find it as I have searched the book with no luck finding it? I just want to make sure it is there before citing.
I do not have the access to the book. But you may also refer to

Great👏👏👏
Thanks. I am glad you liked it.
I need Cohen's (1988) citation for the f-square effect size if you kindly provide it here. Thank you in anticipation.
Thanks for watching. Here is the reference

@@researchwithfawad Thak you.
Very well explained
Glad it was helpful!
Hello Professor, please i have a question, I found a negative relationship between one exogenous variable and the endogenous variable, in theory, it is said positive, and also in previous studies scholars have found it positive. how can I deal with this, please?
Please watch
th-cam.com/video/xPZymvNG-gk/w-d-xo.html
In the f-square matrix , one of the values is bigger than 1. In the literature, it says that f2 takes values from 0 to 1. I also have the same calculation problem. how to explain this result.
f-sq can be higher than 1.
Thanks ..I have negative value q square how can I explain it?
Thanks for watching. There is lack of predictive relevance.
@@researchwithfawad I have -0.06
Hello Dr. Fawad and thanks for the video. Where can I finde the R square that is caused by each variable not the collective R square caused by all exogenous variables?
Thanks for watching. R square is for all the variables predicting an outcome not for each exogenous variable.
Thanks Dr. Fawad. Jazak Allah khairan@@researchwithfawad
Sir,are explanatory power and goodness fit same?? Because in both we r reporting to R square, f square, q square..please clear this point.
No goodness of fit is not r-sq
Thank you so much sir for your effort put in for these videos. it has heped me a lot. I have doubt regarding this. What if the R square and Q square falls below the threshold for an endogenous variable .
Pleasure. If they are below then we can say there are issues of explanatory power and predictive relevance. You may need to collect more data or clean it by checking for missing data and outliers.
Sir my effect size f square is coming low in smart pls sem 4 do I need to compute it manually shud I report it or not lower than 0.03
Report it as it is,
Thnks sir
Salaam. I appreciate your work.
Can you please explain why you used RS*IM, RS*ISQ, RS*IM, When there is no variable named RS in that model. Thanks
WAS. Thanks for watching. That is a sample, i used an existing template from another study.
Sir, when to report explanatory power in the thesis, before mediation, moderation analysis or after ?
Report it in the end
AOA sir you videos are very useful, I am waiting for your video on CVPAT.
Thanks. Hopefully soon.
As wr wb how are you? your videos are very helpful for me and really yours are different from other videos online. May Allah repay your deeds. I use Smartpls4 free version, the problem is does not compute for instance PLSpredict. I wonder if there exist an older version which may be free. Here from Ethiopia i cannot buy the licence because there is no means for ordinary individuals to do that.
Why not use a free trial for 30 days.
@@researchwithfawad Thanks sir, I am using the free trial but some features are limited.
Hello Sir, this SmartPLs series is everything! I have a question regarding the f square. I have a single independent variable, 2 mediators and 3 dependent variables, if my f square is below 0.02 for my direct relationships but above the threshold between my mediators and dependent variables, how do I interpret this? is that a problem that requires additional data collection or is there another way around it?
This is not a problem. Interpret it as it is.
@ fawad sir predictive relevance kya hota hai
How relevant are the predictors in the model in explaining the outcome variables.
My R2 is 27% can I cite Cohen paper and say it is substantial? please answer me
If my memory serves me right, according to Cohen it has to be 0.35 for substantial. Your R square is moderate.
Ok thank you very much sir🙌
Just asked you because hair et al latest papers said .50 moderate and .75 substantial and if I cite older paper is it wrong to do it since the latest guidelines says differently about r2
great
Thanks. I am glad you liked it.
Hello sir, what about if the F Square result is 3.555, is it OK sir?
Yes, it can go over 1
@@researchwithfawad Thanks a lot sir
