  • I cashed in 60,370 coins at the bank! The floor was starting to sag again from the weight of all these coins, so I had to cash them in. I really needed to cash these coins in, so I rolled all of them by hand. I bought every penny wrapper I could find in my area & still didn’t have enough. All of the rolled coins were cashed in at the bank & unfortunately the rest of the coins are going to have to be cashed in at a machine which costs a fee. Those coins will be cashed in another video so stay tuned & make your guesses in the comments about how much you think the total for loose coins will be.

      When the pandemic was in it's early stages, I lived in a small town. They literally ran out of coins because folks were afraid to go to the bank and some of the armored cars halted delivery. It was wild seeing stores begging for change.

  • @chickenwing111
    @chickenwing111 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    I think the coin shortage is a fabricated problem. It is the first step in the elimination of hard currency and the start of transitioning to digital currency.

      I’ve been paying in a lot of cash and change just for that reason. Especially in 1 and 2$ bills. If people pay in cash, they won’t be able to digitalize it.

      That will be a sad day. Hackers will have access to everyone's money now and in the future. They will make money obsolete. Some other way to establish wealth will have to be created. Hopefully they can keep hackers away.

    Did you ask your bank for coin wrappers? My bank gives me as many as I want, for free. I never buy them from the stores.

    • @thecoinroom3352
      @thecoinroom3352  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I did a long time ago & they would only give me a few. But, you just reminded me that banks usually have some on hand, so I’ll ask again next time I’m in there.

    I hope you checked for rare pennies. I check my change everyday and have found some coins worth up to $50. Very time-consuming however.

      I absolutely checked. The main type of videos I make is searching & finding all kinds of rare & interesting pennies etc. You're so right about it being time consuming, but how else are we going to find those $50 pennies!

    How do you like that coin roll filler? I need to find something that makes rolling coin a little easier.

    • @thecoinroom3352
      @thecoinroom3352  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I like it a lot. I can roll 50 pennies in about 30 seconds. If you buy a set of them, I recommend verifying how many coins it takes to fill the tubes. If you fill my penny tube to the top it's actually 52 pennies, so I hot glued 2 pennies at the bottom so I don't have to double check every time. I got my set at a thrift store so I can't tell which brand they are. However, if I was going to be doing this every week I would buy a $50 machine lol.

  • @claytonsimplot9554

    You are lucky that the bank lets you do that. My bank wouldn't let me bring in that many coins. Rolled or loose ,no way. I have an account there,so there's no charge. Forty dollars is the most I ever took in and they were getting alittle annoyed . "We have to pay Loomis to roll and box those coins".

    Bought a bunch of coinrolls at the bank today simply to look for wheat Pennie’s. I didn’t find a single wheat penny, but 1 out of every 100 pennies I found were Canadian. Lol 😂

      @thecoinroom3352  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      What?! How the heck was there not a single wheat Penny? The average seems to about 15 per box which is 2,500 pennies.

      @@thecoinroom3352 I think that wheat pennies are circulated more in some parts of the country than others. They seem to be rare to come across in Alaska. Next time I think I’ll get an extra box of rolls just to increase my chances.

      That's a really good point. Once I Walked into a bank for the first time & it just so happened a coin roll hunter or hunters had blown the ordering budget & never picked the coins up. The bank had to pay to send them back. They ordered one last box of coins for me & cut it off. Here's the short video of opening that last box if you want to see it. th-cam.com/video/oV-dIBfpWPw/w-d-xo.html
