I have become addicted to your tutorials, instagram and facebook posts. It is just so refreshing to see a real person colouring her own hair, applying her own makeup, choosing her own clothes, etc without the aid of altered photography, professional assistance or buying outrageously expensive products. I think you are an inspiration to women of all ages! Don't ever stop doing what you're doing.
Oh my gosh Dominique, it's so ironic that I'm watching your video. I just had this conversation with my husband yesterday about how I would have never dared go out of the house without makeup in my 20's, yet here I am 48 now and do it all the time. No one likes getting older, but I really do like being in my prime. Our prime really helps us realize what's important and what isn't. Great video as always! You did a great job and congratulations on being asked to be a part of the Prime book. What an honor!
I'm 37 and I feel like I'm at my prime. I've struggled with low self-esteem and perfectionism as well. But I'm more comfortable and confident in my own skin. In recent years I've battled health issues, marriage woes and other family issues. But my heavenly Father has kept me afloat. You continue to be inspiring and encouraging to me and many others. You're beauty and grace, inside and out. ♥👌☺
I came across your video and now I can't stop looking at them, am also 48 and totally agree with your words of encouragement. I have had soo many struggles in my life also but yess I've come to realise that you'll never be perfect. So now living has started over so to speak for me. Luv ya.
At 64, I've learned that its important to embrace every stage of life as my "prime". We need to build on our successes, learn from our failures, accept the changes in our psyches and physical appearance and incorporate it all into the unique person each of us is and try to project love and wisdom into the world.
As an avid follower of you (and also your age ;) I LOVE the tutorials and am especially grateful for your expression of realism on how to embrace our authentic selves. Forget perfectionism ; WE ARE ENOUGH! As a hospice nurse I've learned from my dying patients just how much they regret not loving themselves more. So right on track with this great video I'm vowing to love myself more- including my imperfect body! Keep on keeping on! You're an inspiration.
With your physical beauty and charisma, your high profile job and lifestyle you would have every reason to be arrogant, aloof and patronising but you come across as the exact opposite: kind, witty, funny, warm, sensitive and so much more! Sure, I love your beauty tips but I always secretly hope that you will leave a few words of wisdom somewhere in between , and you do! You are a big inspiration to me - on many levels. Thank you!
sophie auert; i get all that you're saying. but, why do you need others to motivate and inspire you. more and more these days. people are becoming dependent on others and not themselves. PLEASE DON'T GET MAD, its just my opinion. MY EXCUSE; I am having a bad day....JUST KIDDING.
I just love your tutorials. I just lost my husband and then lost my mom. Your videos have given me help with trying to help myself feel a little better and look good too. Not dazzling but learning and hoping for to find me. I was married when I was a teenager after 42 years trying get me taken care. To be special. Thank you so much.
I love the look! I've had long hair most of my life. It is naturally curly, very much like yours. Last August I was diagnosed with breast cancer and I lost all of my hair during chemo. It was very traumatizing. I think I felt that my hair identified me. My hair is just now coming back, it's about 1 inch long all over, and I'm looking forward to trying some of the styles you have demonstrated. I NEVER would have cut my hair to try these before I got sick. But my whole perspective has changed. It's hair. It doesn't define me, it accentuates me. I'm really looking forward to trying some of these, when I get a few more inches on my hair. Thank you!
Jackie Watson Fitness God Bless you lil sweetie! 💜 I've always had long hair. When I got cancer it was old, so it was very aggressive. I cut my hair first, 3 1/2 feet. still to my shoulders. I felt the same, my hair WAS my looks. well the did radiation, alot, I never lost all my hair😅. It got thinner, but that was ok, cuz my hair was thick! I lost all my hair everywhere else 😅😅.But also, I was 45 ∧ never dyed it. I'm blonde. so I tried new styles. I liked em😊. now I'm 60 ,hair is down to ma butt, still haven't dyed it and no greys😅😅. Well, praise God ' you're a Warrior! Your Beautiful, and now you have more,,,, not less to play with😁🌼
Hi! I am a few weeks shy of being 65. Yikes! That seemed to sneak up. Being 2 years into breast cancer remission I am indeed blessed and very comfortable in my own skin and proud of my decision to have a bilateral with no reconstruction. What I owe you a THANK YOU for is bringing personal beauty back into my life. Some make-up tips, fantastic hair products and positive support have "kicked it up a notch". My husband hasn't commented on the skin or hair specifically however, being 6 years younger...he has said, you have the spark of being 10 years younger than me! I am bold, blessed and glad to have found you.
So nice to see a successful, beautiful woman with humility and grace. Thank you for sharing so much of yourself and your tips and tricks. It is very much appreciated.
Just listened to the rest of the video and have tears in my eyes...I have dealt with the exact same battle with perfectionism and am now am having time of my life not worrying constantly about how I compare to others. Now I try to live every day enjoying and valuing my darling boy (4th grade), family, friends, job and community (Houston). Thanks for being so open and sharing!
Dominique, I do my own highlights and lowlights too. Sometimes I just use regular color like you are using or use a highlighting kit, or the L'oreal kit that has all over color and a highlighter. And like you, I still enjoy the salon too. I love that you did this video so people can see how easy it really is. Keep up the great videos. I really enjoy them.
Dominique, your authenticity and humor are the crowning touch to your beauty and intelligence. Please forgive the blatant compliments, but what I learn from you about beauty is equal to the simple inspiration to stay real, fun, and blessed! Thanks for sharing your story, so cute with foil hanging around your face!
As a recovering elder perfectionist psychiatrist, I cannot tell you how much I appreciate what you presented about growth and authenticity. I hope we can teach this to more girls and women. Thank you so very much. You are truly a beautiful woman.
Dominique, YOU are my new best friend !! Thank you, thank you, for all of your wonderful tutorials, which have taught me so very much! I am going through a very tough time in my life, which has left me feeling very lonely and lacking self esteem and confidence. However, watching you show and talk about your routines and beauty tips on TH-cam has given me a new lease on life! I live in Perth, Western Australia and we are in our very wet and windy winter, and when I'm feeling down and out ... I grab my iPad and watch your tutorials and before I know it, a long time has gone by, I've been so engrossed watching you do your thing so naturally and with such ease. You're my inspiration and I am so glad I've found you to watch, listen to and learn. You're a darling 🐨 💝
I started to delete this video when it came through because I thought, "I'm never gonna color my own hair." I'm so glad I watched it! Another amazing tip and, yes YOU"RE amazing for doing all that you do ON CAMERA! Thank you again and I pray that you're mightily blessed!
Your coming on TH-cam as yourself helps us all except ourselves as we are and feel beautiful about ourselves and I thank you for that That's what truly makes you beautiful 😘
Dominque, you are so authentic, so real, so approachable. I really appreciate your honesty about your struggles, things that you have overcome, and especially the perspective that you are willing to share with us. It's such an encouragement to me - thank you!
Coming from a hairstylist, you did an excellent job Dominique! I have no problem with my clients adding personal touches to their hair from home as long as they understand the basics. My only tip to you would be to consider using a demi permanent color which can be found at your local Sally's rather than a permanent boxed color. Reason being, over time the ammonia and other chemicals found in permanent hair color can lead to damage and porosity issues with the hair. Permanent hair color is designed to be used at the regrowth, and demi color is designed to refresh faded out color or lowlight previously colored hair. Something to consider in the future perhaps. Love your videos and congratulations on being part of an amazing book!
I seriously love and appreciate how you aren't too fancy to show us yourself with tin foil in your hair. That is AWESOME. hahah Girl maintaining isn't for wimps. the plucking, shaving, exfoliation, wrinkle reducing, toning, serums, lotions, etc.....whew. It's a lot, but fun stuff and worth it to feel great and look nice.
Domiique, I have learned so much from you. I just want to say that not only do I love your videos, I love your realness. I love the fact that you are who you are and you are secure in yourself. You are beautiful, with or without makeup, dressed or casual comfy. You make me laugh and you also make me challenge myself as a person. Even though we are worlds apart and you have never laid eyes on me, I feel like you are one of my great friends. Thank you for being your beautiful self, both inside and out! Lord bless you!
Love your videos! The moment I watched the intro in one of the random videos I clicked on my suggestions page, I knew you were a TV presenter. It's the way you talk that gives it away immediately. And I looove it! Very informative content and charming personality.
normally I would have saved this in my "hair" section but I instead chose to save this in my "centeredness and balance" section, because I think your message on perfectionism is a very important one in nurturing and loving ourselves. Life is much more full of joy and happiness when we learn that mistakes are part of excellence and success! Thanks, J.
Dominique, I just recently found you on TH-cam; and, I want to tell you that you are such a great blessing! You are so real and so genuine, and, so very interesting! Thank you for sharing so much of yourself and your knowledge with us. You are truly an inspiration!! God bless you!
I absolutely adore you!!!! I wish I was in the same place with how I look, so to speak. I will be 44 in a couple of weeks and I am no where near loving myself. You are an inspiration! Thank you for what you do!!
I found your channel a few weeks ago and have used several suggestions, tips and tricks! You said it right in your video - it's like a sisterhood! I've learned so much from you in a short amount of time. Thank you for sharing your knowledge, struggles and triumphs with us! You are truly an inspiration!
I don't even know how I found you a few days ago but I have to tell you that I'm loving you and your videos. This particular video touched me because of your comment on perfectionism, something that I've struggled with all my life. At 64 I'm finally accepting and loving myself just as I am (better late than never, right?) and oh my, what a great feeling it is. Anyway Dominique, I have a feeling that I will be watching and enjoying your videos. Thank you for sharing.
Wow the DIY was amazing as always, I tried giving my teen daughter highlights last summer that went terribly wrong. lol lesson learned. As for the book and the stories behind it is amazing thing and life has taught us all a lesson. You have grown into an amazing elegant woman that is now helping so many women around the world. I am so happy I found you and enjoy every video. What a blessing you are to all these women including myself.
Gosh, thank you again. First thank you for responding to me and second I am so encouraged by what others post. Truly feel totally empowered and I have only watched 3 videos. It is so refreshing to see that you do not do these videos just to add more "face" time. You have such an incredible heart. Thank you again both for you and those of us who post. Have a wonderful week.
Just began following you during the Covid stay at home directives, from S FL, and totally enjoy your youtube videos! You are a beautiful human being inside and out and have shared so much of your life for all of us to appreciate and learn something from. I'm going to be a young 68, and have done my hair at home for many years, with intermittent salon visits to give it the needed finesse. It does get a little more challenging as I find more gray appearing on top, but I know I often need lowlights, as you described. Now I am going to try the foil process DIY. I usually use a cap for pulling through my highlights after dying my roots brown. I'm just to clumsy with foil to highlight. Yes, you absolutely improved the great shading effect with those low lights to keep the dimension on the top and you demonstrated that so well! Crunched up foil to hold them on worked! Came out lovely. I am getting close to catching up on many years of youtube videos and look forward to all the current ones! Thank you.
Dominique, you amaze me at how you know exactly how to achieve the look you wanted. I would have gone to the salon! LOL But you are Bold and Blessed! Beautiful job!
Just seeing this video. I could swear u could model for a living like you are as a news anchor. Domonique, you are so classy, smart but you seem to know what u are talking about girl. I appreciate any help u can give. Thank you so much tok.
A year later for me also. I love your inspiring words. I feel as women we put entirely too much pressure on ourselves to be "perfect ". As a teenager I was exactly like you. I would not dream of leaving my house without full make up and hair. I felt so uncomfortable with in my own skin. I was constantly on a diet(starving).. I really put my health at risk with it. I am 43 now, I have struggled with self image my whole life. I am finally at a place where I am ready to stop beating myself up over my "looks". I am focusing on health, and peace of mind. I have lost 47 lbs, and eating healthier. I exercise at least 3 times a week. I slip up, and for the first time. I do not have a melt down over it. I simply start over tomorrow. If only life experience and the wisdom from that, would find us much earlier.. Better late than never. All women are unique and beautiful. We need to celebrate each other. Love to you, Dominique. As well as all who are here. Blessings!
Dominique... you are simply the best and my most favorite beauty guru here on you tube...as countless other previous comments have expressed, I agree 100 percent how beautiful, classy and lovely you are! Funny, just got home from salon color and forking out a lot of money for it.... thinking I’m going to return to again doing my own color for awhile .....and then I saw this video ! You inspire me in so many ways. Best part of going for color today was my stylist mentioned that I reminded her of “some lady on u-tube “. Couldn’t imagine who she’d pull up on her phone.... and Thanks be to God.....it was a picture you! Yay. Nicest compliment ever! I don’t see it but I’m grateful for her kind words to me, as she thinks you’re gorgeous. Thank you for you and your beauty outside, and more importantly, your inside lovely spirit! God bless you Always! Peace and joy
I happened upon your channel last Saturday and I have watched every single one of your videos. My husband thinks I've lost my mind. Everytime he enters the room he hears your voice coming from my ipad. lol I'm just so excited to watch someone my age giving helpful tips and ideas that I can actually use. You are so inspiring and beautiful on the inside and out. Thank you for sharing yourself with us and please keep the videos coming.
Ok, I have to say, I stumbled across you accidentally because of your 10 Ways to Tie a Scarf video coming down my Facebook wall. That was about 4 months ago. It's only been a couple of weeks now that I found out you have all of these other videos and tutorials. I have subscribed and watch them all now and have shared you with so many of my other friends because I think you are great. HOWEVER, this video is my favorite. Your candor and honesty is absolutely refreshing. You're the kind of person I like to be friends with. YOU ARE REAL, Lady! Keep it coming because all of your fans can't get enough!!
You are so incredibly fortunate to be involved with so many wonderful, talented, and exciting people and organizations. Your talents truly know no bounds. Make-up, fitness, fashion, and now at-home hair color. Oh my! I'm afraid I'd make a horrible mess in my bathroom but you make it tempting.
Dominique~ what a pleasant surprise to be catching up on low lights just to be blessed with your beautiful message of authentic beauty! Your channel has been a joy to watch but now I respect you as a wonderful woman of grace who is fearlessly imperfect!
Jeeze, I haven’t seen anyone with this many comments. I want to thank you for sharing the drooling task of keeping up highlights. And another reason I wish to thank you is: I use to do the three tones in my hair also and decided to try growing out my natural color, only because it is a task that takes behavioral techniques. Long story short..... watching someone else do their own hair has inspired me to be strong and try again. I was so damned if I do, and damned if I don’t before watching your illustration. Thanks again! 💐
I love watching other people use box colors. Because since I worked so many years with non-box colors. I am happy that Brands who sell box colors are now showing the undertones. We had so many wonderful women who are experimenting with doing their own colors in between Salon trips. Because now the prices are so high to add high lites, low lites. Everyone is feeling a pinch in this economy. The saddest thing since I Officially Retired. Is I no longer have all the access to the products or other Stylist who did favors for each other. So I binge watch all the different ways that have due these techniques. Their is always something new to learn. If you due go to the Salon and the Color Specialist says they know all things under the Sun. RUN,because it’s not actually possible. Have a blessed week.💕
Well done. You have a good eye. That book, 'Prime', sounds very interesting. I think we need to share our experiences as women with each other more often. Especially when we are vulnerable. It makes The Sisterhood stronger. And Lord knows the world needs more sisterhood.
Dominique, how does one even begin to complement you in all the area's of you we admire? I found your short hair bob styled 4 ways this past summer and began watching and following you. I personally love short hair, it suits me best, but I dread trying unsuccessfully to style it. You have given so much insight there. Then to move on to correct ways of applying make up to compliment and high light features while concealing aged complexions as my own. You have such a personality and charisma about yourself that comes across as someone so easy to talk to and relate. (Just one of the girlfriends hanging out in the bathroom together)! I love that about your videos!!! Then there is in every video I've seen of yours an eliminate of self exposer, allowing your viewers to connect with you more personally, and you make us feel as if we were your family/friends. In this particular episode you share your dreams and goals, realizations to reality, and overcoming. I wanted to hug you and say " me too my sister"! Where my dream was just to be a proud wife and mother, I deal with perfectionism or if you will, OCD. I tired so hard to implant my ideas and views of correct on my children, tried to retain my husband (which we all know retaining is a figment of the imagination), and I kept a house in order at all times (fussing, yelling, fits of manic enrage when anything was put or left out of place), all while representing a June Clever at the kids school at every field trip, holiday party or special occasion I was always asked to head up for the teachers. Truth is, life is chaotic and out of control! There just isn't going to be perfection because it's a myth. Not that we should lay down our guns, but in or efforts realize that every cloud is different. We don't all have to be the same. Acceptance that the dark brown towel has been placed with a burgundy one is ok. It made it to the same closet which is goal. Those are just my own inner demons. Key is acceptance and coping with yourselves and then allowing others to be imperfectly perfect also. I do also want to mention on your self awaking moment.... girlfriend!.... You are near flawlessly beautiful! I truly believe we all are whether some need assistance showcasing our features whether nude or with makeup. I know the right cut for our facial shape is key, and so on. But your unmade face is an artists most desirable pallet! And you are the best darn artist I've seen! I hope you continue to find happiness in making your videos and sharing yourself with us because you've made such an impact on atleast me! Side note: when I win the lottery big will you please design my dream bathroom and vanity dressing table? Lol! The lighting, mirrors, access to tools are a girlfriends must haves! Go boldly Dominique, and God bless you sweetheart!
Congratulations on being selected for such a special project. How wonderful of you to share your story. Sharing your growth so that others can learn/benefit vicariously is very generous and truly appreciated. 🌺
I love your videos on improving looks with make-up. It has helped me to remind me of the contouring I use to do. I also color my hair and have cut my own off and on for many years. I've worn makeup since I was about 13 yrs. old and colored my own hair from about the age of 15. Thinking back I can't believe my mom as strict as she was, didn't even scold me. But then again I also pierced my own ears by the time I was 15. I later pierced them so I could wear 2 earrings in each ear. She couldn't believe I did it the first time. I think that being a perfectionist is taught to a person when they are very young and growing up. I always was until about 10 years ago. I got tired of always being busy doing things that I got tired of doing and never time for the things I really wanted to do. So, I learned how to be satisfied with my surroundings the way they are and my life is just as happy and maybe even happier because I am doing more of what I want instead of doing what I always thought I should do first then for me later. I also got rid of a 36 year - pain in my life a joke of a husband. That is why I got so much happier. I love watching your videos and I hope you continue doing so for many years. It's nice to see you doing all of this with a smile on your face. So many people do these self- help videos and they don't seem to enjoy themselves. Thank you again.
Amazingly beautiful inside and out! Thank you for your constant inspiration to me and many others, probably more than you'll ever know. Your personal stories are always encouraging and having just reached 50 (!!!) I gave up those "gotta be perfect and must have makeup" requirements. I realize now how liberating it is to have throw those silly thoughts out the window! Your positive attitude is very contagious!! :-)
Thaank you for your candid & honest talk here. I just started following you..I searched.."growing out a pixie"..and I found you. You are an inspiration. I'm 60...and was looking for a way to handle the awkward growing out of a pixie. But I have gotten so much more from your videos. Thank you!
My Goodness….!! Thanks for such beautiful words.. Thanks for reminding us about perfection and how obsessed we become, thinking that we can find this perfection!! I have always strive for dreams, with such high expectations, that i only got so frustrated and isolated most times in my life.. Thanks Dominique for showing us so much, always with a smile, a tender heart.. God bless you, your loved ones, and lots of success… Mildred Curiel
Hi from a former coworker! I'm relatively new to the channel and loving it! And yes, I have now purchased the Kenra Volume 25 hairspray. Thanks for this one; I love the personal transformation you have made...you were the traffic reporter at 2 when I was working there (part-time overnights, right out of college) and I remember you coming in to work always with perfect face. You often had giant velcro rollers in your hair but your face was always perfect. And I love seeing the bare-face version and hearing your personal story of coming to terms with the expectation of perfection! It's inspiring to hear from other women how the "perfect plan" changes and evolves over time, and how we evolve with it to become our best, bold, blessed versions of ourselves! And I will get the Prime book; we can never read too many inspiring stories from our fellow women! So thanks! :)
+Leslie Holland So great to hear from you, Leslie! Thanks for reaching out to me here, and I'm glad you appreciated my story about relinquishing the grips of perfectionism. We all have things to overcome, don't we :) Also, I"m happy you're enjoying the Kenra hairspray. I wish I had that when I used those giant velcro rollers back in the day! Take care, and I look forward to hearing more from you...
6 years since this video and you haven't changed a bit. Probably got even better. I don't know what month you did this video, May 11, 2016 my daughter passed away. She had just turned 38 years old. She was my only child. Talk about a person's struggles. You never get over it you just learn to live with it. It gets easier, but never good, like it was before. On a lighter note, I am 69 and love makeup and skincare. Someone says let's go on the spur of the moment I check my hair and out the door. No makeup. Life is too short!
I don't know how you got away with this with your hair stylist. I'm so afraid I will mess it up. But yours looks amazing. Thank you for this video. I may at some point be as bold as you!
I am 68, and you inspire me, and believe me, if you can inspire someone of my young age, imagine what can achieve with some one much younger, thank you😊👍🏼
Thanks for sharing such an inspirational message within your hair video. I had to leave the highlight idea altogether and go full out blonde because it keeps the grey edges at bay. lol. I started seeing more grey (just as my father did also), by the age of 44 but now at almost 51, I had to make a drastic move to conceal the unwanted color. Your hair color is beautiful and of course so are you.
So proud and Happy for you to have become comfortable with YOU. Love love love your ability to share being real. I'm 70 and am very critiqual of myself and wish to over come this ...
I took over doing both my lowlights and highlights about 3 years ago and I have saved so much money. I also cut my hair now and do my own nails. My roots are all gray on top, I'm 54 and I'm coloring my roots almost every 4 weeks, so its better to do it myself. Funny you mentioned the tin foil on the antenna because I was helping my Mom who is 82 and looks younger with her weather radio (live in north of Dallas) the antenna was up but reception not that good. My Mom put foil on the end and it helped the reception! lol! Happy New Year to you and thanks for the video on your lowlights.
kathy price I just came across this channel and love her!! I’m 44 & my gray hair is far more than just a few hairs here and there. I’m trying to minimize my life but I’m not ready to let the gray take over!! I’m curious how you do your coloring and cutting??
Dominique great job I hair color at home also and is always afraid I mess up you have such confidence and is so inspiring. Love the summary of your article I can identify with so much especially divorce and being a single mum. Failure has brought out the inner me and the maturity to look at life realistically and hold hands with God to a brighter future. It's been a long journey with great memories along the way. I thank God everyday for my children and their families. Big hugs Alli
Thank you for this video!! It spoke to me! We are the same age and I too, thought exactly like you....a plan, so perfection oriented......SO, thank you for your honest and raw advice on being yourself!!!
Thank you for sharing the Prime book and your story. So encouraging! Thank you for being transparent. I too was divorced with three children and tried to be perfect but perfection doesn't exist here ,on earth anyway. I also have a blended family of six with three boys and three girls. Have really enjoyed all your fun videos.Getting my hair cut tomorrow!
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼boy-oh-boy did I need this on this night.... No intention of low lighting my hair, but I'm so pleased I tuned into this tutorial. What an inspirational woman you are. Happy Happy Happy I found you
You are a brave woman! Thank you for this diy video but especially for sharing "Prime". Sounds like such an awesome project and I truly admire your humbleness. I'm somewhat of a perfectionist and do not like to be seen without my war paint either! However, recently my 20 year old daughter wanted me to join her for lunch and I had just finished my workout. I turned her down and the moment I hung up I realized that spending valuable time with my daughter bare faced in public was what was important. Quality time alone for mother/daughter conversation was all I needed to make me complete. A painted face on the outside cannot truly make us whole, but the inside love for family and a Christian Faith can make me complete! Enjoying your channel so keep sharing!
I just LOVE your hair! The cut is amazing and the color is stunning. My next haircut I might go up to a shorter bob, instead of my lob right now. Thanks for your videos, I appreciate them as they are girl next door beauty, not these other videos where girls put on layers and layers of makeup. I feel as you get older, less is more.
I just asked my new hair dresser how much low lights would be, I just need a few & it was too much money for me. This is awesome & thx for reminding about underneath check spot 1st!! Not sure I'd think of that, dah!! Also, thank you for being real, none of us can or are expected to reach perfection, I am so grateful you let that go & are now having a weakness bring out a strength! We all have trials & imperfections to help us be compassionate & grow as a person. It's a beautiful thing when we allow it! I am a strong believer in Christ, it is his perfect love that saves each of us! You are a instrument in His hands. We all are in different ways, so cool!! Thx again 🤗💖
I have been doing hair color, for 30 years, and it's my passion. Baby kudus to you on how brave you are to do highlights and low lights on your own. hair color all over I am ok with that, but foils man that's not easy. Bravo Dominque!!!
Wow Dominique, that was powerful, I felt every word....profoundly. You are the biggest inspiration I have ever felt from a woman in my entire life and on matters that are just so very fundamental and simple. You're special. Your message is to love and enhance what you've got, not to strive for unattainable ideological perfection, a preconception designed only to torment the soul. I love the fact that your abundant inner beauty wants to share hints and tips on how you enhance your natural external beauty with everyone whilst keeping it real. I find your ethos very moving and cathartic. Thank you for inadvertently helping me to move forward by motivating me to make some changes, starting with my visit to the hair salon tomorrow
Thank you for your "prime" perspective. Pity it takes us so long to be comfortable with ourselves. Youth is wasted on the young! I'm turning 50 this year and feeling all the more confident for it. Yes I'm blessed. Enjoying your channel immensely.x
Thank you, Dominique, for being real, for the wonderful beauty tips, and for sharing your words of experienced wisdom. You are an inspiration and deeply loved. Hugs! Joyfully- Eriko
Love your videos. When you allow others to see your "realnes", you give others hope. It's inspiring to see that you are indeed as beautiful on the inside as you are on the outside. You're living the "pretty is, as pretty does" mantra. :)
I just watched 2 videos of you, and I am already super inspired !! Thank You for being real !! Sometimes we women forget how to be real just to not be judge by our friends, family or ourselves!! Thank You !!
I am watching this a year later, as well. Just found your channel and I have been watching your videos all night. This one really hit home. I love your tutorials, but your honesty and humility are what really make you unique. We all have challenges in our life, and it's nice to know we aren't alone. Thank you for sharing. God Bless.
+Robin Donnelly I see I'm not the only one :) Thanks for sharing, Robin.
+Kristy Swithenbank Thank you, sweet Kristy! I appreciate your note..
Oh and... BE BOLD AND BE BLESSED❤️
+Tamara Spirakis Thank you for sharing this poignant message, Tamara! I, along with many others here, appreciate it..
Tamara Spirakis nice
Perfection does not exist, sisters. Get over it now! Obsessing on attaining perfection hurts you and those around you.
I love her, she's real, down to earth, lovely and joyful. She also loves to help. Her practical tips are a bliss.
Thank you!
+Sophie Auert I really appreciate that, Sophie! Thank you..
Sophie Auert right on thank you for writing this
Sophie Auert I have to agree with you! 🤗😘
sophie auert; i get all that you're saying. but, why do you need others to motivate and inspire you. more and more these days. people are becoming dependent on others and not themselves. PLEASE DON'T GET MAD, its just my opinion. MY EXCUSE; I am having a bad day....JUST KIDDING.
Sophie Auert well said! 💜
Thank you!

Jackie Watson Fitness Same thing happened to me. It will grow out. Good time to experiment with cuts & color.

+Kim Jackson My pleasure! I hear you!!
Your authenticity and raw honesty brought tears to my eyes. I sooo understand. So much.
+Karen Rittenhouse Thank you, Karen! Big blessings you way, too :)
I'm 46 and I love your authentic self! Appreciate your channel.
P.S. Best hair cut ever!
The cadence of your voice is just incredibly soothing. Your message is delightful, I find you so calming. You are something to aspire too.
You're beautiful with or without makeup! I just love how positive you always are! ❤️❤️
+Laura Stuto Thank you, Laura!
normally I would have saved this in my "hair" section but I instead chose to save this in my "centeredness and balance" section, because I think your message on perfectionism is a very important one in nurturing and loving ourselves. Life is much more full of joy and happiness when we learn that mistakes are part of excellence and success! Thanks, J.
Such a gorgeous human being. Sweet, liberating, charismatic spirit.
We are all perfection, created in HIS image. Love your authentic honesty, you have a gift to inspire others. I truly, truly enjoy your channel.
Thank you for doing these tutorials and being so candid and real with us! You're make-up is STUNNING (as are you). Please do a tutorial on this look!
Okay, I must say You Are Ah-Maze-Ing! I love that you did this yourself. Totally awesome.
+Liz Todd Oh, I love hearing this. Tell your husband I'm sorry he's having to share you with me, but this is important girl stuff!
You always make things look so easy. Great colors. Thanks for doing this for us, useful info. Have a great weekend. xoxo Patty
My two sisters are hairstylists & I love seeing them but sometimes a DIY is the answer! Thank you for an easy solution between visits ;-*
I love ❣️ the colour you done to your hair I am now going to change to do some highlights now thank you 💗
You are so incredibly fortunate to be involved with so many wonderful, talented, and exciting people and organizations. Your talents truly know no bounds. Make-up, fitness, fashion, and now at-home hair color. Oh my! I'm afraid I'd make a horrible mess in my bathroom but you make it tempting.
+Madams.59 LOL! Thank you..
Love your honesty and your beauty tips. You're gorgeous.
Dominique~ what a pleasant surprise to be catching up on low lights just to be blessed with your beautiful message of authentic beauty! Your channel has been a joy to watch but now I respect you as a wonderful woman of grace who is fearlessly imperfect!
so pretty! I love everything about your look & personality!
Love your humble attitude to womanhood, and the book article 👏👏👏👏👏 your photograph in "Prime" is gorgeous!
Go boldly Dominique, and God bless you sweetheart!
vulnerability is a beautiful thing.
you're already gorgeous
Congratulations on being selected for such a special project. How wonderful of you to share your story. Sharing your growth so that others can learn/benefit vicariously is very generous and truly appreciated. 🌺
+Julie Kostas Thank you, Julie!
You remind me of Ashley Judd in this tutorial.. she is beautiful and so are you. Great video as always!
+diana pickett That's very sweet of you :)
Dominique, you are a stunning natural beauty, tinfoil and all and come across as very approachable. Thank you for your inspiration. 🐨😄🌻
I admire your honesty, your grace, and how down to earth you are. You are inspiration to me. ❤️
+Tina Fl So true, Tina.. so true!
Blessings to you, too, Mildred, and thanks for your sweet note :)
I applaud you for overcoming perfectionist. Congrats. We are all beautiful WOMEN.
Gwendolyn Burton. Do you do your own hair color! I'm afraid to do mine! But she is making doing it like it's nothing! 🤔
Why do you think Dominique said NOT to do highlights at home? I'm ready to try it. If you have any tips, I'm all ears! :)
kathy price how do you do your own highlights and low lights??
kathy price
I just came across this channel and love her!!
I appreciate that :)
Everyone loves the L'oreal conditioner :D It's sooooo good!
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼boy-oh-boy did I need this on this night.... No intention of low lighting my hair, but I'm so pleased I tuned into this tutorial. What an inspirational woman you are. Happy Happy Happy I found you
48? 😨 i can't belive it. You are so beautyfull and you will be in 20 years. 😍 love your look.
+melo flori (meloflori) Thank you :)
You would look good, with all the plastics she's had
Get real!!!!
Binge watching all your videos.! Love them thanks for sharing would love to see roots touch up to cover grey and highlights!
me too
I have been doing hair color, for 30 years, and it's my passion. Baby kudus to you on how brave you are to do highlights and low lights on your own. hair color all over I am ok with that, but foils man that's not easy. Bravo Dominque!!!
I LOVE your hair!!! Wish mine could be that bouncy.
Authentic self. Awesome comfortable place. I remember Oprah saying this and so appreciate your honesty. You rock Dominique. Aging well and healthy !💕
Hello from Singapore! Just discovered you today! You are so beautiful and such an inspiration!
+persimmone Great to have you! Thanks so much :)
Perfect instructions, so helpful and you are beautiful!
Happy to hear that..
Beautiful woman ,and a special person.
Thank you for your "prime" perspective. Pity it takes us so long to be comfortable with ourselves. Youth is wasted on the young! I'm turning 50 this year and feeling all the more confident for it. Yes I'm blessed. Enjoying your channel immensely.x
+Mary yiamarelos Thank you, Mary.. Yes, it's a pity it takes so long for us to feel comfortable in our own skin..
Seriously love u! Just subscribed and I'm loving it!!
Thank you, Dominique, for being real, for the wonderful beauty tips, and for sharing your words of experienced wisdom. You are an inspiration and deeply loved. Hugs!
Joyfully-

You are definitely a risk taker....kudos to you. The outcome was great :-)
Love your videos. When you allow others to see your "realnes", you give others hope. It's inspiring to see that you are indeed as beautiful on the inside as you are on the outside. You're living the "pretty is, as pretty does" mantra. :)
+Tara Owens How very kind of you, Tara! Thank you..
What a beautiful and powerful msg Dominique. Continue to be your beautiful self!!!
I just watched 2 videos of you, and I am already super inspired !! Thank You for being real !! Sometimes we women forget how to be real just to not be judge by our friends, family or ourselves!! Thank You !!
I use my grey for my highlights but this was really informative. Your hair always looks gorgeous Dominique. ♥ Elle PS - that book sounds amazing.

I am watching this a year later, as well. Just found your channel and I have been watching your videos all night. This one really hit home. I love your tutorials, but your honesty and humility are what really make you unique. We all have challenges in our life, and it's nice to know we aren't alone. Thank you for sharing. God Bless.
you are a very beautiful, honest and smart woman. I wish you a very happy News Year! 🎈
Congratulations on your spread in Prime! They could not have chosen a better candidate to show natural beauty, both inside and out!
