Yep, in policing getting fired or resigning equates to a 2-4 week holiday then moving to a neighbouring police department with the same pay and position. This would be like working for McDonald's, breaking a customer's jaw because they didn't have the right change, and your punishment (both legal and career wise) is moving to the McDonald's 3 blocks away.

They've been investigating themselves for the past 13.5 months WITHOUT interviewing witnesses. They lied to the media. Philly DA is corrupt and won't get involved, and Shapiro is friends with the killer's dad. • @thebatinthehat1984

So this is not just in the south suburbs. Usually, things don''t go this far; but, you always have examples of public employees disregarding and disrespecting a citizen's rights in public buildings due to their level of comfort. I remember seeing my first video of this sort of thing happening. There was a man who was legally blind/Had Dyslexia; and, wore a body camera. The device was an approved ADA compliancy/aid device and he explained as such, one of the employee's in the office was turned off by the possibility of being on camera, called the cops and the man was quite aggressively arrested; because, an employee was made to feel uncomfortable and wanted him trespassed. Mind you, you can only be trespassed from a public place (especially those that offer services to the public) if you have committed a crime. This was probably a 5/6 year old story and is still a thing the average officer doesn't understand. He sued and won, but this is still a regular issue. I am a member of the Disabled Americans Community, and people try to explain my disability to me all the time and why what I'm allowed to do is wrong or I'm just not allowed to do it. Tyrant Terminator and other auditors in the space have done a lot of work on the ground level to try and reform the relationship between Police > Citizens. A lot of cops have this crazy notion that if they "ask" you kindly to do something, you do it regardless of whether they can make you do it or not. More so to the point a lot of cops will arrest you for something they didn't understand and choose their professional well-being over your life; and, what putting the average working man into the court system does. This is where stuff like P.O.P (Pissing Off the Police) Charges, C.O.C (Contempt of Cop) charges, You can't be the Ride, and C.Y.A. (Cover Your A$$) charges come from. Cops have been playing by their rules for so long that you will sometimes hear them on camera say, we should try and figure out something to charge whoever we wronged with just to ensure we are covered. This adversarial mentality is probably about 80%/85% them; because, the "Ends Justify the Means" mentality is still prevalent, and officer safety (all aspects) is the number-one priority at any cost.

This is an entire departmental issue. The sgt and another officer stood by and did nothing. City hall have the evidence and have done nothing to hold them legally responsible by charging any of them. Allowing the chief to resign allows him to keep his benefits, stops the investigation, and keeps his record clean so this chief can apply at any other department statewide. Bet this chief has a long history of abuse. Only when a Leo is involved can the do this and the only justice is found in civil court paid by the people. But the criminals with badges are free to abuse more innocent people.

America has a Tyranny problem that deserves swift and harsh accountability. If 1 cannot be trusted. None can be trusted.

First and foremost, my thoughts and prayers go out to The Tyrant Terminator for peace, healing, and justice. What happened to him was traumatic and will undoubtedly leave him with significant emotional scars. I know he had to have believed he was going to die, and it wasn't exactly an irrational fear either, it was a very real possibility.
Check out what happened to Ms. Mssey in Springfield Illinois. She called the police to protect her from a potential prowler. Within minutes, the police are inside of her home, threatening to "shoot her in the face" because she said, "I rebuke you," after they treated her rudely and drew their weapons over a pot of boiling water that was on the stove (something that did not pose ANY leathal threat to the officers). They had an unobstructed view of Ms. Massey, and where they were positioned, they also had effective cover (they were on the living room side of a breakfast bar which had a good deal of overhang, with no stools or chairs blocking their cover.
Yet, within seconds, Ms. Massey, an innocent citizen/tax payer, was shot and killed by the very people who were there to protect her. Sadly, she would have had a better chance with the prowler!
This problem with police forces around the country, and particularly in these suburbs of Chicago, is actually a relatively easy one to fix. I don't have time to write about it now, but it would work like it does for my profession: nursing! Where police would have to go to an accredited four year program where everything from the law, to psychology, and ALL the topics/skills vital to their roles, would need to be passed academically, but also passed via testing by a state board. To retain licensure, the officers would have to complete continuing education requirements. This board would govern police individually, which in turn, would govern departments. The officers would need to wear easily visible identification with their full name, and job title. This allows individuals to report on that license without going through the employer of the very prople they want to report. The board would revoke in egregious cases, but also with volume. So, either one significant case, or many lessor ones. Once stripped, they would never be able to be licensed again. This board is not affiliated with the police at all, except to govern/direct their education, and manage their conduct accordingly. I do have some highly specific ideas. If I weren't sick, I would take these to Capital Hill.
Check out The Stanford Prison experiments, conducted in the 70's in believe. They showed an alarming phenomenon most of us already knew: when you strip someone of their rights (even someone without a history of a criminal record) they are vulnerable to abuse, and may themselves act out of character when you rob them of their dignity. Conversely, when you give someone ultimate, unchecked power to act with impunity, they often become corrupt, and abusive (even those without a history of criminal activity). There is a movie about it, as well as a documentary. What happened there was catastrophic, and disturbing. Trust me, it's an interesting watch. Just look up The Stanford Prison Experiment (movie, and documentary).
