Alot of you say these guys are really good, but as a musician, i can tell these guys are REALLY FUCKING GOOD! The guy on the baritone saxaphone is fucking phenomanal. Playing really high notes on a normally bass instrument is really difficult and only easy if you practice alot. The trumpet player is also really good and fast paced, and the drumber is very very good as well.
+Atheon, Time's Conflux drumber
+Atheon, Time's Conflux as a baritone saxophone player isn't hard to play high notes, its hard to play overtones well, which is how he is doing some of those squealing noises.
oh ok. my bad, i play trombone so i just assumed it was ike that.
+Atheon, Time's Conflux it was a fair thought, brass players have harder of a time hitting high Notes, reed players have a hard time playing lower notes because the reed vibrates more for lower notes making it hard to tune and intonate( this may only apply to saxophone, haven't played clarinet in a long time)
+gamerone00 I also play the bari, and the high notes arent really hard to hit but they are harder to get a good sweet tone on. But still the bari player was great, and hilarious!
Trumpet guy is absolutely fucking murdering it, savage as hell - I wonder how many people lost their jobs because they were late to work because of this banger
I would have called in lol I would have told em I found something and will catch the next train.
I play trumpet so I can judge this guy accurately.
10/10 amazing
Worth it
Matt Doe is the trumpet dude
🤣
This was 9yrs ago.... NOW... I watched them headline a stage at Boomtown festival 2023 !!! These guys have really made a name for themselves and am so proud of them !!! They were the highlight of the festival for me !! Well done guys!
what what? I was about to post "GET THE BAND BACK TOGETHER... at least for charity events or whatnot."
I'll have to check this out - did they include the lady what's his name has been with (2-Saxy)? That would be cool combining the two.
I shall Rabbit-Hole this. Good Intel. Thanks.
Leo must be in a nursing home by now.
I was going to ask "where are they now?" but it sounds like they are still doing it!
Soooooo happy for them, wondered what happened to them
Thank you for sharing that! I’m so glad they’re still playing! They’re INSANELY TALENTED! Would love to hear them in person!
No one is talking about the drummer not losing a note. My goodness, such skill assembled here.
He's the king of sludge for a reason 💜
Every member is beyond amazing.
They truly are a band of equals. You know you need to hear this again!
I'm thinking of using this video as a part of a lesson on effective teamwork and demoarchi.
Absolutely! And him and Leo got that base line kicking!
@@timboatfield man, this is my 30th time. What you talking about? Lol!
Me: “So how many sounds can you get out of your bari sax?”
Leo: “Yes.”
Haha!
And for ELEVEN MINUTES no less. I mean, these guys are insane.
Leo: "all"
“Give me a number, I’ve got it and then some”
He holds it like this plastic toy-saxophone 😮 it’s huge. And yesss the sound (s)
Watching the video I was focused on the sax player because of his showmanship. Then I downloaded the audio, and the trumpet player CLEARLY steals the show. Absolutely incredible.
+NinoBrown08 That's cause trumpet is the best instrument o:
+NinoBrown08 I mean... they ALL killed it. Don't know that I can agree with your statement.
+Dj Dixon I agree, they are all amazing. Then again, who can dance like that with a saxophone let alone a bari?
+Tycho Nielson
I worry that the drummer may need to cinch up his drum et al. He keeps hunching over it. Hope he doesn't develop pain in his back. That drummer is something! It's always the drummer for some girls!
How did you download it
drummer = living metronome.
trumpet = can play a note no one has ever head before.
sax = has been playing for eons and it shows
He looks SO young here! I can't imagine having that level of talent and I was 1st chair Alto every year of school except my senior year when I was switched to Baritone Sax (what he plays) because most of our bass section graduated the year before. It is a TOUGH instrument to make sound on.
I'm a big bad trumpet player!
Ya... They're all pretty average 😜❤️
@@Bassassinator I played baritone for the high school swing band and for the admiral's band in Coast Guard. Ever try to high port 30 lb's of brass around the quad because some damned flute player screwed up?
This guy's octave jumps to harmonics and growling tone and complete control and mastery of the instrument is unlike any I've seen. I could do most things with a saxophone but this guy is amazing.
I also went to electronics school on Governor's Island when it was a TRACEN for the Coast Guard. I've been to exact location of this and used to drag a B flat soprano around with me. One night I played the blues with a clarinet and banjo player busking outside of a bar in Greenwich Village. It was MUCH fun.
New York City - bad place to send 19-year-olds for electronics training (I did pass but barely) but man am I glad they did. They've since closed the base and relocated the schools there, though. I had too much fun.
@@richardreynolds6398 Man, I was 1st chair Marching, Concert, AND Jazz band Alto for most of school. I was technically “good”, but I knew I would never have a chance at a Sax career.
I only played Bari my senior year because a ton of our low brass section graduated and myself and Jodi Pichoff on the Tuba had to basically carry the bass section! I was the only woodwind with the strength and wind power to get through a half-time show and all four quarters. I had some lungs.
I never got even close to understanding what this man does to that instrument.
I am so impressed that someone was able to take their public school concert band experience and actually become a real rock star without ditching the brass for a guitar.
Hey Patrick. These guys are awesome! We started that way too 37 years ago. Still at it. th-cam.com/video/gRo-yZhrUDo/w-d-xo.html Cheers

The king of sludge aka the human metronome. He could keep time inside a black hole
This comment is incredible.
This is the best comment in the history of TH-cam. Past, present and future.
I have no idea what’s going on here. Can yourselves explain?
@@Kaouix Just some clever science. Time stops (or perhaps, more accurately, doesnt exist) inside a black hole.
@@Kaouix Just like @Graeme Hemphill-Hart says in a wormhole all physics as we now it cese to function, even time as we know it, and this man has such amazing timing on the drums that he could play in time even if time as we know it didn't exist. It's an exaggeration but seems fit for the king of sludge
I just saw these dudes live in the middle of Kansas. Sludge said "the day i decided to become an artist is the day i decided to succeed at it" these dudes are MY heroes
Where did u see them? FHSU alum

I'm curious too, when did they ever come to Kansas? Been wanting them to come to KC for some time
@@bjknuckles7873, I remember looking at their tour schedule a few years ago, and they did a concert in LFK at The Granada on Mass. Truthfully, I'm waiting for them to roll into KC and stop at the Uptown Theater.
I realize I’m very late to y’all’s conversation but if any of you do happen to see this comment, I’d love to know the name that this band goes by in 2023. They’re all such incredible musicians, I need hear more from them! Lol
Thank you in advance!
I think this is the most conservatively dressed I've seen this band and definitely for Leo P.
We need another like
Thats only because it was mid or late december though
Santas run amok
Leo's still got the Ace Ventura hair going on though. lol
This is when they were WAY better
Must have been wash day or something
I love how the trumpet player absolutely overblows the trumpet, creating a sound that fits this group perfectly
Yes!!! Finally someone gets it. He gets ripped on in so many comments for having "bad" tone, it's intentional and absolutely genius.
I totally agree I play trumpet and know a lot of their songs but I always lapse after playing songs like this and will growl in a concert band lol
I will say, he straight K.O.ed that kid @ 5:36. Like "THANK YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUU" 😂😂😂
Not to mention he graduated from Juliard school of music I believe so he knows what he's doing
fuck kyle Graham not a musician either but I think it means distorted sound perhaps
Can we just give credit to that sax player. All that fancy foot work and bouncing around. Not one missed beat or botched note. And the speed and wild sounds he creates. Bravo.
That's Leo p. Watch his BBC concert
"credit to **that sax player**" brother you clearly have not been paying attention for the past 8 years
Hopefully you have seen Leo with “Lucky chops” another great bans that sound terrific in the subway.
8 minutes in, when you've been carried away by the band's incredible performance, you find out Santa has been watching. He knows who's good.
this band has made me miss quite a few trains over the past few weeks
Lol
Lucky you ! I'd be willing to be late at work just to experience this for real !
mike olsen I would like to miss a lot of trains because of listening to the live act of this amazing trio!
mike olsen These guys are having massive European tour now.
Artyom Ivanov unfortunately only France :(
The drummers stamina though, didn't drop for a beat, bless him.

That's why he's the KING.
And bent over the whole time.
Todd Lampone just like yo momma
Pes Ces Ahhh, I see what you did there.
I'll never get sick of watching this, and it brings me much joy in these dark times. For years I come back to it now and again
That’s how I feel about this video too. I remember seeing it years ago for the first time on Reddit. I still laugh thinking about one of the comments. It was something like, just imagine you’re trying to commute hungover and passing these guys.
I don't know English, but I think that same as you
@Pike Fish Worldwide tyranny. The predictions about a new age of totalitarianism coming true
Agree totally on their uplifting qualities.
As a drummer, all the comments giving the drummer praise makes me really happy. He might not be the star of the show but there is no music with out rhythm ❤️🤘🏻
Technically not true. Classical music has no rhythm in fact some songs can be played however you want and still be beautiful like Clair de lune.
"Classical music has no rhythm" oof
@@TheWiery322 No, technically true. It might sound as if it's unmeasured, but that's what a good composer can do. We can have no melody without rhythm.
The drummer is a machine!
The money they would make coming to New Orleans... we love brass down here!

These guys would fit right in. In New Orleans.

Lmao he's the best 🔥
They used to do that on the old subway carriages haha
Played trumpet for years, this guy is an absolute monster. Shocking
The trumpet tone is genuinely the most amazing thing in the world. Basically the sort of volume you'd want for a massive marching band, but played in a tiny band of three people that always performs in enclosed spaces. Yet somehow, with how wrong it should be, it is absolutely perfect.
The last song is absolutely beautiful from Matt Doe!

That percussionist is a rock. Man is just unreal. Nothing complicated but musical and just so solid. They other two guys wouldn't be able to flex like they are without that absolute superhero behind them 🤣 he even slowed it down in such a way it was barely noticeable.
That saxaphone player is so ridiculously talented ~
All of them are. The trumpet player has crazy control and their drummer has amazing rhythm and stamina.
so damn right and they all have the passion
The percussionist is a BEAST ! God bless that guy cause according to MILES DAVIS every good horn player NEEDS a good drummer ! Props and kudos bruh ! The trio is awesome. Im a fan !
Agreed!!!
All 3 of these guys compliment each other SO well! They just sound so complete with each other. But I agree. That drummer REALLY ties them all together so nicely. He's like the glue that binds it all just right.
Having a steady tempo really does help the other instruments push their limits, and he makes steady not be boring.
We found them when my daughter was interested in learning saxophone. She ended up being a drummer girl 🥁🥁🥁🥁 Thank you Too many Zooz and specially David Parks, great drummer!!!
The fact that the trumpet player left for a quick second to take care of a few guys and the rest of the band still made it feel like a planned part of the song is a testiment to their skill
The trumpet player is a good bouncer too, I agree
It’s a testament to how much they don’t appreciate people over social media. “Get out the camera shot dude, who cares if you like the music, we need our content.” 🤦🏼♂️
@@nat1babySurely they appreciate everyone who stops to listen. Is it so wrong for them to not want a dancing guy blocking one of the players out of the shot in what is a very long and difficult take?
@@nat1baby if you block the bucket they don't get payed... no one wants to walk around a bunch of dumbasses trying to "get in the shot" to drop a 5 in the bucket, they will just walk off. Let alone the fact that one of the dumbasses almost kicked it over.

The trumpet❤️❤️ Jesus Christ I know he isn't like running all over the place like the Bari but damn he can play
Definitely! When I watched the video, I was focused on the sax guy, but when I listened to it without the video, the trumpet guy absolutely stood out.
If someone could play a trumpet like that and move like the bari then they would win my everything, it's just not a thing, this is coming from a 4th year trumpet.
I would definitely have to say they both killed it. The sax guy's notes in fast succession is incredible. The trumpet solo was great too.
Acidic Romance lots of people can. They're in the Blue Devils Drum and Bugle Corp Trumpet line. Look em up. Blue Devils. Seriously. They're insane

because other people don't look at it this way
The baritone sax is also a suprisingly amazing player, the baritone is very hard to play compared to alto and tenor and he plays the harder range on the baritone too. Im very impressed.

I have never in my life heard anyone who could make a sax sound like didgeridoo. And was he at some point playing harmonies with himself? And what a solid drum section you have; steady as a locomotive, with the occational spice. And Mr Trumpet: any ol’ jazz player would envy you your ‘flames through that pipe’ (to quote +Presenterbloke).
My favourite, though, is the sax. How often do you see the bass voice playing lead? And I love his dance steps.
CannedMan I think he was using multiphonic fingerings?
MsAppleCharlotte multiphonics are beautiful
No disrespect to Too Many Zoos, but there is a band you should look into called Moon Hooch. They are very similar, but instead of a trumpet they have two sax's and they do some really dirty didgeridoo sound stuff.
Leo P does a lot of stuff where he simultaneously sings or hums into his instrument to self-harmonize or growl.
I've come back to these videos time and again. I just love the way the saxaphone guy moves. The music is a bonus.
Remembered watching this seven years ago. Checking it out once again after all these years, and damn it is even better than I remembered. Absolute fire
being a saxophone player that type of jumping a round while playing is very impressive along the tricks he does with making the Bari squeal and almost quaver is amazing all that combined takes a lot of hard work and practice
+Jimmy Santowsk This isn't my style of music at all but that sax play has some mad skills.
I play trumpet, but jeez I'm garbage to the trumpet dude. The King of Sludge keeps everything alive, never misses a beat, and god, the baritone saxophone guys gives the best bass line while also keeping an amazing melody in his soli with the King of Sludge. Wow. I'm amazed. Also that baritone saxophone has the best range.
Inspiration _ range is easy on Bari, I’m completely trash (been playing for 6 months, most of that with a broken piece of crap Bari, and 3 years of clarinet before that) and I can bottom out at its low A fine and get all the way up as high as you can go before Altissimo notes at an F sharp an octave above the staff
I cannot overtone in the bari but I am mainly a tenor player so that’s why(also I use a plastic Reed, which may explain my dry sound)
You know your killing it when multiple Santa’s show up
KoS keeps better time than a metronome. I've been a soundtech for many bands and groups for over 30 years, and these guys are out there killin' it WITHOUT a soundboard.....unplugged. To get this sound in a subway, this loud, you have to have massive talent, and they showed it!

+MaddenGamingAddict I saw them in the metro live last week. I even recorded it on my phone. Those guys are insanely good!
^ you don't mind if you upload the vid to TH-cam?
+MaddenGamingAddict I saw them last yr when i went to NYC they are freaking awesome
This giant sax is a bonafidie dangerous weapon. I’ll never be the same after listening to this!!
it’s called the bari sax, and yes it is very heavy
Glad this randomly came up in my recommendations. I’ve never heard anyone play AND dance that well at the same time as Leo. Hope these guys come to Wisconsin or Illinois once the pandemic ends to check them out 👍
I love how the drummer and the sax can get into the groove, but the trumpet player just stands there unmoving the whole time
It's really hard to play trumpet while moving 😄
Yeah it’s pretty hard to play while moving
Yeah he may not be moving bodily in the groove but every note is in the groove.
Agreed, it's hard to play; while moving. Too Many Zooz was the first that I ever saw. I've found others that move too, since then. TH-cam videos: "Paradise Has No Border" Kyoto Tachibana SHS Band

His groove transcends time and space so all we know is it is the shrieking that comes it is his metal black hole
A lot of people missed their train that day...
It's the NYC metro, they were all probably delayed anyway.
LOL
Yeah because they couldnt hear it coming lol
Nick Gur not caused by these clowns. 1 Note Charlies.
Or they didn’t have a train and we’re just walking around
