I had the older model of the Mackie thump 15'' good sound no trouble with them

I recommend buying 12 inch speakers over 15 inch speakers, because for some scientific reason, the 12 inches have much better midbass!

I agree with you which is why after listening to the 15" Thumps vs the12" Thumps I found the 12 sounded so much better and went with 2 of them. I also have a Bose L1 with 3 subs but that's another story.. I'd like to know what the RMS is on the thumps. I'm assuming somewhere around 400 Watts on the bottom and 100 at the top but I can't find it anywhere

I know some people think because its 15 more bass back in the day used Ramsas i think they were 10 inch speaks i used to put them in the corner they sounded like 18 s. It was the cabinet that did it 12s are tight

For the love of everything do NOT buy these cheap pieces of garbage!
Sound= garbage. Mackie says their "1000" watts, I call BS.
I had the sub quit on one before the first gig! Brand new speaker!
How can Mackie be proud to call these pieces of rubbish an awesome product? These speakers have created so much stress In my life I plan to throw mine off a cliff on my next birthday. Ugh.

Mackie makes OK speakers, but not as nice as JBL or even Peavey. You may just have had a defective model. Also, 1000W is peak power most likely, not constant power.
