Prices do fluctuate over time and if Amazon run out of stock themselves then 3rd party sellers can sell at higher prices. At the moment, using the links in the video description, the XM4 is $298 and the XM5 is $348 on Amazon US.
Just tested these back to back with the Bose and the marshall in a store (all about same price range). The Bose were extremely disappointing (quieter, less bass, distorted if third party volume booster app was used - which is necessary). The marshall were quite nice but feel low quality build / cheap somehow. The Sony xm5 were by far the best sound quality and good volume, also didn't distort when pushed. I'd love to test the soundcore q45 aswell... I have the soundcore q10 which are terrible out of the box (crazy too much bass and nothing else- but amazing once u run an EQ app and tweak the sound profile properly)
XM5 would be better for me based on this review. I have XM4 though and I bought them from sale when XM5 was just released. I think it was the better choice back then. With the prices you showed I would buy XM5 for sure, because I am not using these headphones while travelling, but smaller earbuds. Although, I think XM4 will again go significantly cheaper in black friday sales than XM5. The biggest downside of these headphones for me is the lack of physical buttons. These touch interfaces are just not working well when laying on bed and therefore I have put them off and I use my keyboard to control volume and change songs. Also, the earcups could be deeper, because these start to hurt my ears when I use them for hours. Although, I think that headphones shouldn't be used that long time anyways and I have decent speakers, therefore it is not too big of a deal for me.
Excellent review
Thanks! 😊
Thanks for the video

@@MyTechGear wow thanks!
no worries. I hope you enjoy whichever one you get.
There is Prime day from 8-9.10 so they got to up the price in order to offer "bigger" discounts so I would say wait until then to buy
@@Patrick_F price is now 399 CAD more discounts coming?
I got xm4 - I assumed the improvement of xm5 is 15% of the whole experience against a saving of -40! for the xm4
The xm4 is still a good pair! 😊

What rank do u think that wh xm5 stands at? (S,A,B,....)
Overall I think it's a pretty solid A tier. There are some things it does better than others, but overall they're a great pair of headphones.
