    Wow! That was so close to the edge of the fall! Only the fact that we saw the gopro footage let me know from the start - that somehow you must have come back. You did a great job on the blind flying!

    Why not strap the base station to your chest? That way you can manually point the antennat by changing your body orientation.

    Hey David, this was not a fail, it was a win!!.. you rescued your Tricopter, even your antenna tower fell down... and this IS a win.. I guess, I would have sank my Quadcopter in the Niagara flood :-) *THUMBSUP*

    This is an awesome video capturing a different perspective on something many of us have seen but not appreciated from this point of view. In the background there's the observation tower that looks like the CN Tower, where, at the ground level, they used to sell oysters guaranteed to have at least mutant pearls within. I enjoyed watching you goofballs send a drone out over the falls. Kudos.

    Good luck with making such images!

    You could create a visual art piece ,I do not think it has been done yet with a RV,but this is a very creative medium. Another way of representing the landscape with technology .I think your creativity is marvellous.

    This is in Niagara Parks Police jurisdiction on the Canadian side of the border. I'm not sure what the US authorities would say, but this flight is illegal for various reasons. Firstly, he is flying over the border, which is extremely illegal. If one somehow thinks that the US DHS would be willing to ignore that, then you must know that the airspace around the falls itself is heavily trafficked by sightseeing helicopters. Hence, the area immediately surrounding the falls is controlled airspace, and you need a permit (on both sides of the border) to fly there. All this said, most hobbyists are told to immediately stop, and are given a warning not to do it again. The penalty could be much worse, regardless of the fact that you area a hobbyist.

    • @godatlas
      @godatlas 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm sure that with like many of the stuff David has done, that he has got permission to do it. Although I do recognize everything you say, I don't think he would've just gone and did it, especially know David from many videos.

      This was done before quads (drones) became popular. And during the winter, which isn't as many people as summer and looks like they don't police it either during winter. Do that anytime now and yeah, he'd be in jail. Which in my opinion, sucks. We should be free and such to do this and enjoy our parks. We pay taxes for us to use the parks. And if this is the way somebody enjoys doing things at the parks, they should be allowed to. In Ohio here, it's illegal to fly in our parks too, which many people have no idea it is. I see RC helicopters, airplanes, etc all the time. But no rangers, they are lucky. I called the parks and asked for permission and they told me no, it's illegal. I'd like to fight that.

    That was just awesome.. what a great perspective of the fall's . What are your operational limits in altitude. I was wondering if you could get some close up's of the chemtrail aircraft because the angle from the ground keeps me from being able to identify the aircraft in question .

    In the U.S they make a product called Rain-X..You spray in on the windshield of the car...I have used it and you do not need to turn on the wind shield wipers at highway speeds..The water just rolls off...Amazing stuff..Noticed your lense was spotty..

    Great video. And definitely ahead of the curve a bit, as far as quadcopters being still more on the niche market side of things in early 2012. I'm opefully about to purchase a Phantom 3, which basically does everything for you. I must say, having considered all of your efforts that lead to me watching this video now, you have my respect. That's some dedication.

    I always take 3 full 32oz Gatorades with me when I fly, and 6 rubber bands. If it gets windy, I strap them to the legs of my tripod. My patch antenna has not fallen over yet, nor have I gone thirsty while charging up LiPos.

    De todas formas, en el sitio de rcexplorer te enseñan y te muestran como armar uno y tambien indican el sitio de donde puedes comprar los componentes para hacerlo tu mismo...

    I have three questions about your quad in this video. (Pause at 4:11 for reference.) Is the gyro box for the WooKong M wrapped in copper tape? Is that a filter between your skew planar wheel and the VTX? What is the small black cylindrical item tied to the black vertical post (between the GPS Ant and the video Ant?
