Train Toilet Doesn't Have Plumbing

Occurred on February 23, 2020 / Lyon, France
I was on a train in France in SNCF lines. I went to the bathroom and realized that the toilet pipe goes directly down onto the tracks. Quite funny and unique. It was on the 23rd of February in Lyon, France.

in india, when a train pass over a bridge, no one goes under the bridge unless it is emergency.

​@@harshithsadhana7475 Nowhere have I seen that happen. Railway bridges had a iron plate running across the length of the track earlier & nowadays the new bridges being built have a solid concrete base. And btw, all coaches have bio toilets installed now.

I remember taking the trains in China as a kid in the 90s and seeing toilets like this and I didn't think twice, assuming that it was expected since China was still a poor country at the time.
Later around the late 2000s, I was taking the train in France. I missed the TGV because I couldn't make a reservation with my Eurail pass so I had to take a slower train from Avignon to Geneva. The train carriage felt like it was decades old. Later, I went to use the restroom near the end of the carriage and these two girls were there in my way. I can't remember what started the conversation but I think I wanted to get by but they were making conversation with me though I couldn't understand too much French so I said something like "les toilettes" while showing the universal body language of really needing to use the restroom. They giggled and responded with something like "Les toilettes pleut" which literally meant that "the toilets rain" or something. They let me through and I go to the restroom and I see a toilet that empties right onto the tracks. I wonder if that's some inside joke or something that the French only understand as I gather these types of toilets are still in use on some French trains even today.

OMG, I'm shocked to see a train toilet where you can directly see the track below the hole! I've only seen ones with the water in the bowl in the old rolling stock, but I'm still disgusted by the fact that the flushed contents still end up going onto the track!🤢🤮

Well toilet paper will disintegrate, pee and poop is natural - every animal in the forest do it. This is actually very good idea.

Poo is a biohazard - for species the same or similar to us, the poo is far more dangerous than other types. That's why horse and cow poo is used as manure but dog and human poo are not. People have to work on the railway, they deserve not to have to deal with poo as a job hazard and railways pass through towns and cities and over wnd under waterways. There's very good reason why dumping raw sewage into the environment is bad. Moreover, effluent harms railway infrastructuur like track and points

@@comradetoad6473now many trains have dry toilets installed in then. There is both Indian and Commorde toilet onboard
