I don't think that the term - I think this reporter did not really do her homework (or maybe she was so nervous that she confused her wording) cause his success was immediate from his childhood on and kept blooming and blooming from the local sphere and spreading out - whereas her question implied he struggled unappreciated for years before getting any recognition (which was not the case). So I think what appears to be his shyness was instead his trying to correct this interviewer without being blatant about it but instead setting the record straight gently.

..one of the 1st interviews i've seen of jeff where the interviewer didn't react with one of his characters..she looks bored as if she was forced into doing this like she can't believe jeff is in the top 100 or deseves it..she talks down her knose at him and ignores walter..sad

I don't think she knew who he was or anything about his characters, so she was disengaged. I also think because she didn't pay Walter any attention she has no imagination. Perhaps she isn't in touch with her inner child. I think Jeff picked up on this chick being a dud.
Her inner thoughts be like “yeah I can see why you weren’t popular, ya fuckin nerd”.

he should show his kids on his tv show or somtin because he talks to the audience about his kids but doesn't show them at all. like this if you think that he should show his kids in the video
