I'm a multiple old-school MGB, MGC, MGB GT owner. This brand was never meant to fly into this price band. An MGB sports car should be competing in the significantly cheaper MX5, Toyota GT86, FIAT 124 Spyder segment. Even trying to stretch to Toyota Supra pricing, would be too far. Neither is this car representative of the current 'economy' segment the brand has morphed into. Disappointing. A cheaper entry would be more truly representative of the true 'MGB ethos' This? Its just marketing madness. Beautiful, but misaligned.
Love the look of this car. Would Consider one when it's released. But the " traditional long hood" is an unnecessary waste of space in an electric car. There better be a huge frunk storage space where the engine would otherwise go.
I think it will sell like hotcakes but it will be a shame if they over inflate the price. All the other new MG's are fantastic value! I just hope they don't do as most companies do now when they have a great product and put a strangle hold on supply to try and force people to pay more!
What i remember about MG here in the US is they were fun cars, not fast or particulay comfortable, but quick maneuvering. I took it one step further, buying a used MG Magnette sedan in 1965. Upkeep expenses made me trade it in by 1967.
At a $100 grand US, it certainly isn't following its roots, in that it appeals to the wealthy, unlike it's predecessor that attracted the everyday working Brit. This car has drifted far away for those particular roots and has reached for the pockets of Fat Cats. Smells like a bunch of Marketing BALONEY to me.😮
I had no idea that the morris garage brand was resurrected. I hope they remember the success of the old cars was very much grounded in value and low prices. Those who wanted an English sport car back in the MG days had many more expensive options. I had a lot of fun in an old MG, and have been wanting a convertible electric sports car for some time.
If this was being built in Britain I would have one but from what I hear it’s just the design and engineering that’s done here, china will build it in their country and export it like all the others so for that reason I won’t be buying one. China just using another British iconic brand because they can’t sell their own stuff but it’s not the only country doing this, it’s so frustrating to see this keep happening especially when most of the work is done elsewhere just because of cheap labour.
It is a very good design, this might work for most of the Europe. Impressive proportions too. .@4:34 this steering wheel is a no go in Balkans, cant drive a car with yoke 🤣😂, so I predict MG might sell only one there.
Fantastic! First to market for an EV sports car! If you are going to make an AWD ‘Halo’ car, PLEASE make a cheaper single motor RWD version! Oh & call it the MGC?!
I just hope that the Chinese owners don't pour a bucketful of bland over this proposal, for the production version. The pretentious design-speak aside, this is a rather pretty car.
Great design on paper/display but as with any new design, the actual on street car is much less beautiful. I hate the design limitations by rules. I hope they will change the name though, this car is not meant for gen z or y for that matter, nor gen x.

MG IA ICONIC GOOD THEY BRING IT BACK BUT BETTER THAN OLD SCHOOL N EV STYLE TOO I THINK
I thought th new MG was a Chinese company. I wonder to myself if any of these guys actually know what the letters MG stand for.

I love this car but I fear they will try to sell it way above its value
Hope it will be 100 times better quality of the 1960 MG's.... Those we great to look at in your driveway broken...
bring these to north america.
bring the MG4 Power here too.
I'd even buy the wagon.
Will it come in British racing green ?
