I've been green laning for years and there is one addition I think you should consider and that is an electric winch, not just because of this video but after watching a few of your vids I think it would benefit you just encase you get stuck somewhere. My winch on my hilux has saved me even when 4x4 isnt enough. Great channel btw

Interesting and entertaining video. Definitely an apprentice salvage master and sailor. That boat was stripped cleaner than almost any other derelict I have seen. To be discarded by its owner in the way was tells me it must be very expensive to properly dispose of an old fiberglass boat in that area.
I like you Aussies and Kiwis because you are able to drive from the passenger side of the vehicle. Do you guys have those ratchet and cable tools with a cranking arm? You can fix your van probably by yourself. I like your video. You need to go rescue more boats. Its practice and that's how you get good at salvage.

Was thoroughly confused on why you set off in a boat that was previously sunken.... (obviously it would take on water if it was sunk) but learning it was just for fun makes it sound like a good time
Against fun and success, there can be no complaining. But those are the ideas i had, when i was looking on your effort: 1) To use some rugs, or planks, or something, under your motorized tires. It could help with the pull. 2) If you do not have bigger inflatable, try to borrow it somewhere, or use alternatives. A bag filled with air, and with tightly tied throat, can lift almost as much, as actual zodiac boat and costs MUCH less. And when the bag is full of bubblewrap, foam, empty and sealed pet-bottles, empty and sealed drums or another floating materials, wich can be obtained on a scrapyard on in each bigger supermarkets dump, almost (or actually) for free. That might gave you more time before the second sinking. Same as a shot on gluing the holes in the boat, before the second voyage. You know, boat with holes, wich was sunken, will probably sink again, with no regard on how quickly you can bucket out the watter, when the holes are not (even badly) repaired. 3) You was travelling, but with a so-so connection to internet, as i understand. Ever heard about electronic shopping or e-mails? NO ONE can expect you to actually revitalize the ship, when you do not want to, but you (personnaly) do not needed to. You could (in the case you got the ship beached) offer the hull to some ship-reppair company, or to some shipyard or to some private enthusiast. And if the hull was in repairable state, you could earn quite bit of the price for your bad drone back (and maybe even more). Value of (again) sunken ship is much less, as you probably know.
So many people not understanding that there is more to life than acquiring material goods for nothing. No he didn't try to get it out of the water to keep it. No he didn't consider the time and cost to do it. He just wanted to see if it could be done. That is how progress is made, an enquiring mind. Try it yourself someday.
You need a real drink after that. Switch to 100 proof Wild Turkey and coke, much better. Nice video, nothing ventured nothing gained, you learned so you gained.
Thanks for the video. Some constructive criticism, the music is a lot louder than your voice so I was blown away when it came back on from the parts where you were talking and the audio was low.
Always appreciated bud. Yeah this vid has a few errors on it, very much the early days. I've started doing the audio with headphones in now to avoid this sort of problem. Learning every day lol.
Maybe get a surplus weather balloon. Stuff it in the cabin and blow it up with an air compressor that plugs into the cigarette liter. The kind to reflate a tire .As the air goes into the balloon, the water comes out and the boat floats.
Sorry if this sounds negative but being a boat owner the thing I find worrying is that in its original place it was no danger to boaters now it's off the shore line where it could be a danger to other boats. Hopefully the spot where it now lies is deep enough not be of any danger. Bugger getting in that cold water too good for me.
Dude! Get a couple of rolls of flex tape And a pump Next thing you know you'll be riding the high seas LMAO remember for every gallon of water in that boat That's 8 1/3 lbs. That's a lot of weight So don't be surprised if those ropes don't work. if you can get more of those inflatables in there that would really help to displace the water weight.
You should get a pole on how many people want you to resurrect that boat and pull it out,take it home, d.i.y. patch the bottom and go boating. I bet you could get people to donate volleyballs for you to use to raise it or something. It could get huge

Noble to try to clear such rubbish, but you were lucky not to come to harm from parts of the straps or boat cleat coming through the windscreen - the energy that they build up in recoveries is staggering. Given how much you like to go off the tarmac, I think you’d be wise to do a one or two day recovery course at a 4wd training school so that you learn about the risks and how to safely recover your vehicle without harming it or yourself.
Dude, you should've got it on land, fixed it, got a trailer for it and made it your own for other lakes. Itd have been worth the effort as long as you made sure the previous owner was ok with it if there were number on it.

I guess you could have tipped it on its side and used a bunch of duct tape (Gaffer tape, I think you call it) to seal the crack, but that hull probably weighed 400 pounds so no real chance of lifting it by yourself. Still, I would have attempted the exact same thing in pursuit of adventure...
Thanks man, yeah was a shame. It was only as I got out into the water, my weight and no bank to rest on that I saw water coming in. It was under the rear section where you stand outside (can you tell I’m not a boater?) But by this time it was too late and the more water that came on board the harder it was to steer and move. But yeah it was great fun! 😊👍🏻
